Joey Vega – For over 20 years this Nuyorican comedian, writer, actor, TV host and loyal Ross shopper, has been keeping his promise to Marc Anthony to open all his shows! It all started back in 1989 when Marc was starting out and asked Joey if he could be his opening act on his comedy circuit. After hearing “el flaco’s” talent he then offered to be HIS opening act when he made it big and here we are: 21 years on tour with Marc Anthony! Que jodienda! Careful what you promise. But before all that he was also a staff writer on the George Lopez Show, as well as Chris Rock's comedy writer. As a matter of fact, most of today's well known comics, including Jerry Seinfeld, Bill Burr, and Adam Sandler opened up for him on the stand-up circuit! As an actor, he also shared the screen with Hollywood greats like Sally Field and Tom Hanks, Not bad for a Puerto Rican guy from New York who got his start when racist bouncers didn't let him and his friends enter a club. Let this be a lesson why turning away Latinos at the door is not smart for business. (And the only way to bounce back from two costly divorces, is to laugh- a lot!)
