On the grounds of Kfar Maccabiah, the Olympic village of Israel is a newly renovated Jewish Sports Museum and it is now open to visitors. Located in Ramat Gan, outside of Tel Aviv, the museum tells the story of more than 130 years of Jewish sports and features more than a thousand original and rare items collected from Jewish athletes from around the world. The exhibition area extends over three floors and tells the story of Jewish sport through film, pictures, badges, flags, medals and trophies.
Orit Engelberg-Baram, curator of the museum, told reporter Arieh O’Sullivan that the museum displays not just personal stories, but also tells the collective story of Jews and sports reflected in peak moments of the Jewish people. (photo: courtesy)
