An Israeli physician based in the United States has written a book to help improve the lives of throat cancer patients – drawing on his personal experience with the disease. Dr. Itzhak Brook, a professor of pediatrics at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, says that it is especially meaningful to him that the guide, which has been translated into several languages including Arabic, has been used in Arab countries in the Middle East. Brook, who in the course of his IDF service during the 1967 and 1973 wars treated and cared for Arab POWs, told KAN's Naomi Segal that he views the guide's use in the Middle East as a contribution toward coexistence.
