A recent UN climate report warns that the window of opportunity to limit global warning to 1.5 degrees Celsius is closing, bringing with it the danger of extreme climate impacts. According to the report, mitigating climate change is only possible if the right policies, infrastructure and technology are in place. This is where Israeli clean energy tech startup High Hopes Labs comes in: It is developing a balloon that captures carbon directly from the atmosphere at a high altitude, bringing it back down to earth. KAN reporter Naomi Segal heard more from Eran Oren, chief technology officer of High Hopes Labs.
