Renowned author Meir Shalev will be buried on Friday at Nahalal, the moshav in the Jezreel Valley in northern Israel where he was born.
Shalev died aged 74 after losing a prolonged battle with cancer.
Shalev received numerous accolades throughout his long and productive career.
"Israel has lost one of its greatest storytellers," President Yitzhak Herzog lamented. "How sad that we will never again experience the eager anticipation of the publication of a new book by him, which would have changed our lives and made them richer and fuller. How sad that we will not celebrate our upcoming Independence Day with him, a son of the 1948 generation."
KAN's Mark Weiss asked Saleit Shahaf Poleg , author of Till It Rains Again, how Meir Shalev will be remembered.
