A bill passed this week by the Knesset giving police wide powers in tracking down illegal weapons, mainly in the Arab sector, is criticized by MK Aida Touma Sliman of the Hadash-Tal Party. She said they were in favor of fighting crime in the Arab communities, but this new law gives police too much authority in the field and it would harm innocent civilians. In an interview with reporter Arieh O’Sullivan, she said the proposed national guard would likely be manned by “racist settlers” led by “racist minister.”
