When it comes to suffering, most people expect God to be more “hands on” in alleviating their pain. But God can often seem distant, instead. Dr. Larry Crabb (deceased) explores suffering in the Scripture and reassures us that we can and should trust God, even in devastating circumstances. Dr. Crabb uses a lesson from Habakkuk, where God seemed to be silent. He also shares from some of his own experiences with pain, and the stories of others’ suffering, to illustrate how God can grow us through hardship. He explains various stages of growth in his life, as he has come to trust God more fully, even when God’s ways make no sense.
