Donna Urquhart: running 1300km in 25 days across Antarctica to keep girls in sport

View descriptionShare

Physiotherapist, pain scientist and ultra runner, Donna Urquhart, has studied the subject of pain for years. On this episode of the Empowering Leaders podcast, just a few days before she departs for Antarctica to smash the Guinness World Record for the longest ultramarathon in a polar region, Donna tells us how pushing through pain can unlock more of our potential.

Passionate about the importance of sport in the lives of children, specifically girls, Donna reinforces why we need to be teaching coping skills in youth sports and tells us the crucial steps to fostering a supportive environment for young people to compete in. In this conversation, you'll hear how Donna is aiming to raise 1.5 million dollars by running across Antarctica so she can sponsor programs that support females to stay in sport.

Her insights into the world of pain, the latest research and what you need to be able to push through it will inspire you, and just wait until you hear how and when she discovered her love for running!
