New AzChike Album, King Of R&B Debate, Kirk Franklin Samples Shawty Lo & Songs To Restart

Effective Immediately w/ DJ Hed & Gina Views ❗️

DJ Hed and Gina Views catch up on their week, from Gina cooking to Hed’s latest orthopedic visit for his knee, before discussing California weather, El Niño, and clarifying a viral claim involving an estimated 450,000 global deaths. They break down Episode 3 of The Drop: A Snowfall Saga, “Family Matters,” praising Peyton Alex Smith as James, Jason Martin (Problem) in his acting debut as Trig, the show’s authentic Los Angeles perspective, and Coast Contra and Suga Free’s appearance. They also unpack a fan theory about Lamar being neurodivergent and tease bigger conflicts ahead.

The conversation shifts to music as Hed and Gina praise AzChike’s debut album for its vulnerability, sequencing, Pharrell production, and standout track “God’s Favorite,” while Gina recommends Busy Crook’s Underdogs Win Eventually. They debate Usher vs. Chris Brown, discuss R. Kelly’s musical legacy while acknowledging his criminal conduct, and share songs so good they have to restart them mid-track. Plus, the crew reacts to a Detroit funeral-home cremation mix-up, a Waymo-related gun arrest, concerns about AI and hacking, and new music from Kirk Franklin while giving Jermaine Dupri his flowers.
