Nine podcasts. I had a very senior Western Bulldogs person come to me last week and say have you heard is he going to Collingwood, at which time I got very perky and excited. Hello everyone, I'm Jimmy LIUs today on Eddie and Jimmy the Podcast. So let's go for it. Thanks to tab and thanks to my old mate Andrew Moriny's team at lexus A Blackburn doing fantastic jobs. By the way, as we get towards the end of the financial year, fantastic and a financial year bonus is out there at Lexis Blackburn. I don't know what they call them these days. Once upon a time we used to call them used cars and demo models. Fantastic. Might get a car that I drove around and I used to drive it slowly to church on Sundays only, so in absolute not even run in. They're that good. Go out there and have a look. He's got fantastic cars, and of course the new range is absolutely magnificent. The coffee is always the best, and of course their service is the best in the business. Can only Andrew Moore and all the team at Lexa Blackburn and of course Skil mcglock on his team at tap. Thanks for your support, shorting, holding or buying, so I'll go off the list. Are we shorting, holding or buying Jordan Dawson. I think we'll continue to buy it. Jordan Dawson. He has been not only a great player this year, but a fantastic captain for the Adelaide Crows. Well under him. Aaron Norton, Well, Aaron Norton is one of those players. I don't know if I've seen a more natural center half back in my life, but every Batman wants to play forward and Bevo's decided that's where he's going to go. Will it change when Darcy comes back? I like the ido of him and Darcy if they play, particularly as dars is coming back from that knee injury set on overburden him. But he's a good player. The good thing about Aaron Norton is he's a bit down on his marking at the moment, but he can be a really good player. So I'll leave it to the coach. He knows what he's doing. But I have said numerous times very early on in this that I've never seen a bloke who looks more like a center half back to Naron Norton Adelaide. Yeah, we're buying Adelaide. They've been a good side for a while now, probably, but stiff not to make the finals a couple of years ago, and they've got that Dodgy golumpiring decision against them. They've been building up, They've recruited really well, people like Dawson. They're getting a lot out of blocks like tex Walker who could have been on his last legs but are still playing pretty good football. And their midfield's got everything going from and they're well coached, so they're usually the main things you've got to have going long sleeve jumpers first real winter weekend of the footy players were shivering like under twelves and sleeveless jumpers. Well Tony Shaw used to have one that was three quarters. The AFL tried to stop him. What he did is he got a junior jumper and he cut it to basically there. And what he liked about that is it not only kept him warm, but it also helped him with his chest marking and the wet ball. So I just think anyone who's not doing everything possible to give them an advantage these days, they're not the old wall and jumpers as we sort of grew up with, or even the Nylony type of mesh. But the ones they've got now they're like silk, so they make it worse because the slippery ball onto the silk jumper really makes it hard. And a lot of players now are putting the old oil back on the arms to stop them being tackled, to break tackles, so it makes it even worse. So I remember having a conversation with the great Kerry Packer, and Kerry Packer said to me he was a very very keen judge of all sports and a very very intelligent man, and he said to me, son, what are those idiots playing your game? Why don't they wear golf gloves, particularly in the wet? And I thought, yep, that makes perfect sense. Why don't you wear golf gloves in the wet or gloves? And now, of course you have them, you know, the NFL gloves. My son's team, Ohio State University spend one hundred, sorry, spend seventy five thousand dollars a year on gloves. There's not too many of them actually catch the ball, so that's how keen they are to make sure that every dot is eyed. So to the point here, I do look at our game sometimes and sort of laugh at the hokiness of it at times, at which I love. But yeah, if I was a senior footballer these days, I think clubs would just about be as most as important as my boots. A muddy MCG. Yeah, well we don't have that, which is of course, may be part of the reasons why we have the concussions because every time you hit the deck but you can't. And being a member of the MCG trust, I'm not giving anything away to say it costs a fortune to relay the MCG. And when you look at it out there now and Matt, can you get a shot there with the hair dryers on there? So that's what's happening because this time of year you only get the shadow. So they have to get the hydroponics out there basically, and they've got another one at center half forward where everyone stands for the wear and tear and course of the day, they'll come down this end of the ground as well. So maintaining the ground in perfect condition is exactly what we want and they do a fantastic job. Swearing on broadcasts is this because who wasn't he said, David King dropped the sea bomb twice. I think the other day it's not hard to do. I think I said it once and I didn't even know, and I was saying old campaigner, and right at the moment I had had a producer in my ear who just yelled out of nowhere. I thought comp but everyone thought I was. But in retrospect I was talking to cane corns. So maybe it was just a subliminal Freudian slip. Maybe I was just ahead of my time. Maybe I'll speak on behalf of North Melbourne and many other clubs and people at footy. I love Caine. I think he's fantastic, but he was an old campaigner at that stage. But Jared heel he's dropped it a couple of times and yeah, no one means it and when it comes out of still hilarious. So good stuff laughing with the opposition after a tight loss. No, no, I'm not big on it. I used to say to our players. I know they can be your friend. Send him a Christmas card, get off the ground. You know everyone's if the crowd's feeling it, you're playing for the crowd, as I said, you can go and have a drink of them at the nightclub that night, or for a beer or whatever you want to do, text them, go in after the game, sale, Adam, whatever you want. Get off the ground if you lose, as fast as you can, shake ends. Show a bit of humility and a bit of sportsmanship. Absolutely love that. But yeah, hanging around hugging each other and having a gay old time laughing. No off Sam Darcy's return. Yep. Now this is going to be very very closely looked at by the medical world because there were very two differing, massively differing ways of looking at Sam Darcy's knee injury. One was to have a full knee reconstruction, would to put him out for at least twelve months, and actually had a few extra degrees of difficulty in the way they were going to go, so I think through the back of the knee to do the operation, and as a result of that they didn't, and they went with a brace and a recovery point of view. So time will tell, We'll see what happens. But I know that his father, Luke Darcy, always felt that he was never the player. After coming back from his first knee reconstruction, he had two and you know he was the best player in the competition when he did his knee, and so was Sam, so fingers cross that everything comes together. Scott Burner ware of the break of the games record. He's played four fourteen. Boomer Harvey played four hundred and thirty two, so he's got twenty eight. My understanding is that Scott will play next year and if all things work out the way he goes this year, finishes off and plays finals as well, he'll be well in position. And fingers cross not that if he stayed on the same amount as Boomer Harvey, he was just an amazing player and finished long before he thought he needed to finish, he'd probably could have got another season. Boomer four hundred and thirty two is amazing, but it'd be magnificent for Scott Pendlebury to get to that number at the very least, and if he breaks it then just another superstar in the four hundred club. In or out Powered by Lexa black Ben's Endo Financial Your Opportunities I told you all about that ends on June thirty. Terms and conditions apply LMCT one nine to three right in or out. Regular rotations should be ditched when your stars are on the bench at the end of a close game in or out. Well, I'll just get it right, is the situation for me. I'm I mean, I was obviously at Collingwood when we really ramped up the rotations, and I think Mike Fitzpatrick, being a Carlton bloke, was the chair of the AFL, so he wanted to stop us winning premiership, so they changed it. But I only half laughed. Yeah, I don't know about the rotations. I don't know. I just I think that we should use players and have the players out there playing, to be perfectly honest. But if that's the case, then that's you know, we've got enough coaches, we got enough people on the boundary line. Make sure we get the players on. It's as simple as that. Everyone's got the time clock, the campdown clock. When now it's going on, can't be that hat. Carlton fans are about to get lured into a false sense of security of a series of easy wins. They play West Coast, North Melbourne and Port Adelaide. Don't know Port adelaud will be that easy for them. They've got the two games West Coast and North Melbourne, well they should win those if they're gonna have any hope of playing in the finals. They played well on the weekend. Carlton fell asleep for a quarter or so but got it done in the end. But no, I don't think I don't think anyone will get leward into West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne. They are certainly down the bottom of the ladder for a good reason, and watching them both play on the weekend, if Carlton can't win them those two games, then they don't deserve to be anywhere. There's a real chance Marcus Pond to probably finish his career at a second club. If he does, which club. I had a very senior Western Bulldogs person come to me last week and say have you heard is he going to Collingwood, at which time I got very perky and excited at Marcus Bond and Pellican to Collingwood. I wouldn't think so though. I think he's a Western Bulldogs man, and I hope he stays and finishes his crew at the Dogs and finishes one of the greatest players of all time. Northern Frio as the only game on Saturday night is a fixturing howl in or out. Well, if you haven't got fox, you're not wearing a that's you know, that's the Saturday night game when the buyers. Everyone's got to play. They've got to play somewhere. I'll quickly just look at the fixture for this week. But as I said, this is the week where I think there's more teams, the most teams not playing this week in the by round as they get it through. So this week it's we've got a good game on where are we so round fourteen Saints and Bulldogs on Thursday night. That's going to be a ripping game under the lid at Marvel Hawthorne, Adelaide, ripping game, Lions and Giants, ripping game, Essen and Kat's interesting game that one can the young Bombers keep going and we know the Cats are a great team North and Dockers well North than anyone at the moment. It's going to be a hard game probably to watch. So they got to play someone and the Dockers well they come over to Melbourne and they really should put the boot down to show that there are top eight. So there's a fair bit of interest in it from me from an impartial point of view. Port Adelaide and Melbourne is another ripping game fifteenth and fourteenth, but whoever gets done is probably cooked. Eagles and Carlton well, you know the Eagles are showing a little bit and it's over there, so you know, Carlton go over. And then you've got four teams Collingwood, Richmond, Sydney and the Sons having their buyers this week. But I think there's you know, there's always going to be good games and bad games. And I've got to play somewhere Saturday night. Well you wouldn't play on Thursday night. We wouldn't play on Friday night, would you. So they deserve their Saturday night and North and their sponsors deserve to get a Saturday night game along the journey. All right, let's have a look at the last week. Heard he got four, I got four. That's pretty ordinary round for me. But let's go to the third week of the Bias and Kilda and the Western Bulldogs. Huge game this one. Now, Saints have played some good footy, but I expect the Bulldogs to start to make their run to the eight with a win at Marvel for the co tenants down there, Hawthorne and Adelaide. Massive game at Tasmania at UTAs now if seriously this is a game for everyone in lawn Seston to pack it to the Gunnals on a Friday night they're getting Friday Night Football show us at your faired income show us in Tasmania and particularly in lon Seston that you want these teams. Hawthorne is staying there for another four or five years. But Hawthorne and Adelaide, let's get it right now. Here's one and all points bulletin to miss the magoo or missus magoo. Whoever makes the jumper's decision at the AFL. Hawthorne where predominantly a yellow jumper with brown stripes, and Adelaide have a jumper that has a lot of yellow in it. Get them to wear their blue one the away team. Make them as blue as possible and don't have too many stripes, and make sure that Hawthorne are in brown and gold. Please Saturday Brisbane and GWS. I'm going for Brisbane up at the Gabba, Essendon and Geelong at the mcg what's the Cat's second home ground Here at the g they play it pretty well going for the Cats there. I think the Bombers have been valiant and I think the Bombers fans are starting to get a bit of excitement with the young players coming through. But Geelong are just too good and too professional at the moment, and they're a team that's looking at a flag. Essenon is looking at a team that is going to develop over the next few years. North Melbourne and Freemantle. Well, Freemantle can't win this game at OPTAs Stadium. It's sexually over there, so this should be Yeah, they should take full toll. I think I said before Freeman are coming over and it's the one that's the second one that North have sold, so they're over there for the week. North it's a big game for them. A lot of you'd like to think that they'd support their president and the CEO who made the decision to sell those games over there. But I think Freemantle will get every cent that they've paid for this game to be played at Optus and give them a belting. Port Adelaide and Melbourne. I think Port Adelaider has just found something at the moment. Melbourne were great yesterday against on Monday against the Pies, but I think Port Adelaide at home, I'm going for them. West Coast and Carlton. Carlton at Opta Stadium, so back to back games over there in Perth. Carlton will win that game and as I said, Pies, Swans and Sons and Tigers get the weekend off all right.
