View descriptionShare

What does Ziya Tong mean she says there’s an oil spill in our bodies? The documentary, Plastic People: The Hidden Crisis of Microplastics, debuted in 2024. The documentary investigates the threat of microplastics on human health and explores society’s addiction to plastic. Ziya Tong, Co-Director of the film, had her DNA tested on camera for the project to reveal the volume of microplastics in our body!

Ziya Tong joined Earth Day Party hosts, Shannon Burns and Sarah Christie and shared the most shocking takeaways from Plastic People. Did you know that only 9% of plastic is truly recycled globally? Ziya offers hope when she shares actionable steps that we can take at home to reduce our dependency on plastic, such as being more mindful about what we spend our money on.

The Plastic People documentary website offers free resources, impact reports, as well as an option to request a screening in your community! Learn more HERE: https://plasticpeopledoc.com/
