An Auckland councillor's questioning why the Government needs another investigation to rule out the mayor's preferred crossing - again.

Cabinet's agreed a Crown-led case into the pros and cons of a bridge or tunnel as another crossing of the Waitemata Harbour.

The $1 million bill to investigate if Meola Reef in Point Chev is the right spot will be split between Auckland ratepayers and the country's taxpayers. 

North Shore councillor Richard Hills told Ryan Bridge the Government admits it's already ruled this idea out before, so why can't it just share that information.

He doesn't think it'll work because it would involve building motorways through suburbs.

Tauranga's MP says a question mark's hanging over the head of council's CEO, following the damning Mt Maunganui landslide review.

The council commissioned report found the loss of six lives in the campsite at Mauao's base in January, was preventable. 

Tauranga City Council had been given expert warnings on the risk for decades.

MP Sam Uffindell told Ryan Bridge council need to have a good look at themselves. 

He says he's been critical of the CEO for a long time on a number of local issues, and the tragic event resulting from the organisation's systemic failure -- is a massive problem.

You've probably noticed a few people now, there are loads out there, on the jab and looking skinny. 

The weight-loss miracle drugs mean people eat less.

Less food and less often.

Fewer cravings. That mean demand for fatty, deep fried food and sugar is shrinking, quick as out waistlines. 

They reckon 15% of Americans will be on the drugs within a decade. Calorie intake will drop 20%. Crazy.

This is a problem is you're a company that makes fatty, high-sugar food.

These drugs are killing your demand. They're stealing your customer. 

Readymade and fast-food companies are now scheming ways to change their products to appeal to the Wegovy diet. 

There's a piece in the Wall Street Journal about them. 

They're basically going for high protein, lean meat options. 

The weight-loss drugs attack your muscle as well as your fat, so you need more protein, otherwise you fall over and break a leg. 

Which basically tells you that for a lot of humans, no control over diets. But there's also no longer a need for control.

What's the incentive to eat a healthy balanced diet when you can erase the downsides with a jab. 

And the jab will correct your cravings.

And then companies will give you what your body actually needed in the first place, which is lean meat, a bit of fat and some veggies.
