There are many and far use cases for drones in many applications. One that has had recently and gain public attention due to unfortunate helicopter accidents is the use of drones across various aspects of power provision, particularly in string powerlines. Enter – Infravision. 

Through the use of intelligent partnerships, ingenuity, innovation and good old fashion know-how, Infravision have cracked this problem. Mirragin's Andrew Crowe chatted to Josh Williams (Director of Aviation) and Paul Crawford (Director of Operations) to discuss Infrasvision's past, current and future prospects. They discussed the problem-set that Infravision is seeking to solve and how their aircraft are being used. They also discussed some misconceptions in 'replacing' of pilots and how they are working together with helicopters. Additionally, they briefly discussed the economics of this type of employment (it's more than just the drone!).
