Protection, Peace, and the Peshtigo Miracle: Fr. Nathan Mudd on Our Lady of Champion

View descriptionShare

How did a small parcel of land in Wisconsin survive one of the most destructive firestorms in American history, and why does its legacy continue to draw thousands of pilgrims today? On Driving Home the Faith, host Dr. Ken Craycraft welcomes back Fr. Nathan Mudd, Fathers of Mercy priest and Chaplain at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion—the site of the only Church-approved Marian apparition in the United States.

Fr. Mudd provides a roundup of recent major events at the shrine, including the 5th anniversary of their chapter of the Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary, which has reached over 20,000 members bound in mutual prayer. He recounts the miraculous protection of the shrine grounds during the devastating Peshtigo Fire of 1871, the annual Solemnity of Our Lady of Champion celebration, and previews the upcoming Bl. Carlo Acutis Youth Day on October 24, designed to inspire high schoolers in Catholic discipleship and authentic friendship. Stream now to listen!
