Across the globe, are healthcare workers being systematically stripped of their rights to refuse procedures that violate their moral and religious convictions? On Driving Home the Faith, host Dr. Ken Craycraft welcomes back attorney Wesley J. Smith, Chair of the Discovery Institute’s Center on Human Exceptionalism, contributor to National Review, and author of Culture of Death and Forced Exit, to discuss his recent article, "Medical Conscience is Under Assault at Home and Abroad."

Smith outlines alarming international developments—such as Ontario, Canada, where courts mandate that objecting physicians perform "effective referrals" for lethal injection euthanasia or leave the medical profession. He highlights cases in British Columbia where doctors face heavy fines for refusing off-label puberty blockers to minors, and addresses growing domestic pressures in the United States, including influential arguments in the New England Journal of Medicine seeking to eliminate conscience protections for controversial procedures like abortion. Plus, Smith and Dr. Craycraft analyze the severe systemic consequences for Catholic healthcare systems, medical students, and patient care if medical conscience is eradicated. Stream now to listen!
