On Driving Home the Faith, Paul Lachmann welcomes Jennifer Schack, Director of Communications and Media for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, and Father Michael Willig, Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, to preview the second annual Catholic Family Night with the Cincinnati Reds on September 5.

Catholic families from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and Diocese of Covington will gather at Great American Ball Park for an evening of faith, fellowship, and baseball as the Reds take on the Milwaukee Brewers.

Jennifer details the night's activities, including a pregame family parade around the ballpark, appearances by Archbishop Robert Casey and Bishop John Iffert, special 2026 baseball cards featuring the bishops, and a pregame ceremony honoring nine individuals who exemplify “Love in Action.” The Church of the Resurrection choir will also perform the National Anthem.

Father Michael Willig discusses the honor of throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, which he will throw to his brother, Father Jacob Willig. The evening will also include a special recognition of their uncle, a Cincinnati priest whose 25th anniversary is being remembered this year.

The Catholic Family Night celebration continues throughout the game, with Archbishop Casey leading the seventh-inning stretch, recognition of military veterans, and postgame activities.

Jennifer and Father Michael also share their excitement about bringing Catholics from both sides of the Ohio River together for a night that celebrates faith, family, community, and the great American pastime.
