I will make some when I tell you, I have so much fun doing research on this next guest and googling listen next guest because um, like many of her dumb fans, what like her dumb fans, I'm saying that, I'm like, I'm saying I'm a dumbfan. I thought it started from Insecure. Then I went back, and then I went back and I discovered I am Arthur, and I discovered and Thenet and I discovered um um um was it Black Awkward girl Akward black Coirl? And I was like, wait a minute. She's been monkey for and stomping through this game for a long time, like the gum under the table. She's been here. She's a curator, producer. She got watching two new episodes last night late night because y'all was lying about the streaming. I was late on the streaming. Y'all truly black people. Because I was up to twelve o'clock in the afternoon talking about y'all said streaming at the one y'all started streaming when your party started last night. That's unfair to me as a fan. Let's keep going. So, I mean, it's so much dope to see the transition from and and her being hush. And also not only that, she gave one of the greatest acceptance speeches of all time when she said, y'all help me, so what I got to send my notes. In case you don't know who the hell I'm talking about, we're talking about the person who's dominating, y'all dominate Larry. We got a strong black woman, black queen taking over. And in case you don't know who we're talking about, we're talking about the one, the only, the Impeccable's you know, I'm gonna I'm gonna be honest with you. I love when we ordered to drink orders. Right, whenever we get somebody here, we say, um, you know what, do what do they want to drink? Because we provide them to drink. So when they said prosecco, oh yeah, I was like, I was a little disappointed. I'm gonna tell you why because I'm gonna tell you what. I'm gonna tell you why because you do drink prosecco with with the recap to the insecure drink prosecco. But then I started to think I was like for a rich person at this point, buying prission, buying Aroseco is like hiring a fake drake. It's like you got access to the real drink. You don't even call the real straight but you're just sco. So listen. That's when I came up that pain feels stuffy. I still mess with your champagne, super heavy, my prosecco and voc person actually in my podcasts, but I appreciate that. Yeah, okay, oh no no no no no no, you're You're a bad motherfucker. Thank you. And this is a case straight to a rap shit. Yes, what's what's your home girl name? From Loving hip Hop? You've got a chi a star. Listen to me. I can't lie to you. When the selection came out that those two was it, I said, esus high in Miami, bugging out, what in Miami? She's in my street? Because I felt like he was like the pandemic. He was like, let me just take over Miami because I could do that. I saw you a little hated everywhere. I was like, holy ship, you are really a visionary. Like I didn't see this so good. I was like by the way, I believed her immediately, like and I was just like, wow, I'm actually doing loving hip hop. Well I think I think she's on this season. I haven't had no scenes well hard nothing, But what I'm trying to say is like, how the fund did you see somebody and say this is a star, this is an actor. I can actually use this person she is. She came in the audition, she was like I am Mia, and Mia is me and you know, people, I haven't really seen anybody claim it like that claim a character and so you know, she said it with the accent, and I kind of was like, Okay, let's see what she has. And she just she was her. She didn't lie like she she sometimes feels like she's not acting, and she is acting for sure, this is in her life. But she's just so natural. And you know, they both are. They're both incredible actresses. They're all first timers for the most part, and they like her in particular, like, you know, she's really lived this particular journey of the show, because how I looked at it, like, I'm like, one girl's very like I don't want to say aprocentric, but you know kind of like on the like I'm not keeping out my box and the other one is like I'm throwing it everywhere, like like like what is that like Lauren Hill mixed with yeah, you know, we took influence from No Name, from Tierra Whack from you know. Yeah, Missy is her hero on the show, and she's like, you know, she's influenced by the Laurens of the Flash. She's about this, she's lyrical MEI the rapsdy vibes exactly. So like even with this show, we took elements of like so many female rappers right now to make to tell this story when I wanted it to feel like the now. No, no, no, not only does it feel like that, now you got like them going on live. Yeah like that. I feel like you can't discover artists if you don't have social media, if you're not like that, that's the best way to discover artists. That's how you know their personalities. Like I felt like I know these artists better than anything, and I know that I know they're personalities more than I know their music, and it makes me feel like an ownership over them because I've seen I've seen the rise, I've seen the ascension, and I'm like, oh, I saw you when you were Cardi making videos before Lemon Hip Hop. I saw you when you make the Stallion, you know, doing freestyles and and working at the gas station. And I felt like, in somewhat, yes, I love that sound. I'm gonna give your glass of champagne anywhere like Oda. Other people know that we can't jerk up. We can't jerk that. It's just we have we have a part of myself. You know where the pocket you wan't get you? I know where the buck I'm talking about right, it's right there. Okay, yeah, yeah, what what you want to do? Okay, thank you, I'm ready. So you finished this? Um, But think I was just saying that social media is so important right now, Like He's like, I can't imagine discovering an artist without social media. But that style of filming, it felt like you were pointed with it and insecure where you think, and then you took it to another level. We've definitely took it to a different level. And so in Insecure we did some like social exactly that. Yeah, we toyed with it, um. And then for this I was like, I just want to have I wanna approach the storytelling it in a different way, and I want to approach it. And sometimes, you know, there are people that we all know. I don't know if you all are active on socials, but there are some people that you don't. You don't see, thank you so much. You don't see often and you keep up with them. All you see is like they're socials. So you know they had a kid. Cool, Oh they're they're out at the club. Okay, they're having dinner. But you get these superficial um ideas of what they're Dude was messing with the chicken those parts, and then you just you draw your own conclusions exactly. And so I wanted to just be our way into these characters via that, and then as the episodes progress, like you're gonna get to know them as they get to know each other again because everything happens on social media. Like a friend of mine, um, the other day, Uh, we went to see each other, and um, I had nothing to talk to him about because Everything that he did in life was on his on Instagram. He was like, I went to the school too. He was like, I went to the two. He's like I went to the zoo. I was like, I know you fed to the draft. He was like, I went to this as. I was like, yeah, you changed the baby panther like, I was like, it will be nothing in his life wasn't on social media, like how you took that glass, Like like I like, I like how you drink playing drink chat that. Now I'm gonna be honest with you. Following Insecure, I was insecure at first because I knewiced to a chick show. I knewiced to a chick show. And then Insecure, you felt like it was a chick show. You don't know that in the beginning, but I got so into it. It It didn't feel like that after a while, until until until Lawrence Lawrence, until you cheated on Lawrence, and then everyone was she cheated him. I know she. I like that he's a He's a way, but it's not East a Way. But it's easy way, but it's not East a Way. Y'all both found each other out in that show. Yeah, wait a minute, it's true. You watch the show both each other's dirty? No no, yeah, yeah, what Lawrence to give your gift for something? He didn't give you a gift for something? He was deputy at first to her, and yeah, he just just like listen, I think he was depressed. I think I think both the men were at fault and both of them did some immature things. But yeah, a lot of men took the cheating extremely personally. But it's so many stories, man, black on Twitter? Do I have you know, I mean, all my information for black Twitter? That'th day on black Peter, Like it's an how long the black regular Twitter and then black Twitter and I go there and boy was we having the morning day that day. He was like, man, it's some bullshit. That's some bullshit, Like, dude, they come on, man, Lawrence is a good guy. I love that so many men saw themselves in him and they felt so but aid like, how like the nerve of this girl cheating on him? A good man he is, but he had his issues. Really, I just ain't see it. Both were fault man, both so he was a perfect man to you, like from jump you want me to have me ever in your life? Cheated before? Yeah, but theyn't go Donna do with Lawrence Lawrence Gonta do don't, don't don't. Lawrence was there for you, girl. He just was going through a little financial ship. He wasn't there. He was like a shell of himself. You know. They both weren't their best sells at the time, and it was crazy and that was the point of the show, that the growth of the characters. Right. Do you see how attached people is to the show though, Like they can't to appreciate. Like, like back in the days, I had a stone called what what used to hate? People come up to me, what what? What the fun is you thinking? It's eight o'clock in the morning meeting the bagel? What what I imagine they come up to you like yo, like and thinking real character? Then yeah, my real character for a minute, Like dudes were really like the insults got crazy. And my co star I remember, I'll never forget. I woke up one morning and like, you know, lodged into yeah, my co Starvin she before I knew. I woke up one morning and my phone like I want on my mentions and it was just cheer chet. That's big, she hoped cheater. I was like, what but my co star went on the breakfast Club vine and at the very end of the interview, she was like, uh, well, y'all, if y'all think she could like hit her up, tell her And so she said everybody and people did, and I was like one for her too. This is kind of amazing. This is but I saw like people thought that she was like a real person telling me, telling everybody about her home girl. She didn't, so they got I was like, why are you going in on me? So all right, this is not real. I didn't do this. How much of you was in that character? Though? A lot? Yeah, I mean a lot, but things you know, I was. I had learned so much more about myself and was more confident in myself by the time that show came out. But like, there were so many parts of me that were in that in that character. There ever a time where like, um, like, you're right in the show because I think I was hearing you say this, where you almost watched this season in real time, like you could dropped a couple of episodes you could see the reaction to the people. Is that Does that affect your writing? Oh no, because by that time people thought that yo, the craziest thing that pissed me off was we, uh, in season three, Lawrence wasn't in half of it right, and we had planned to have him pop up in the middle of the season. Felt like he was out of the show. And it worked out because he went on a show radio show that's been show the Men that you are killed him that part by the way, because he want Martinez and Jay said, yeah, I haven't filmed. I don't know what they're doing. So that fueled the rumors that like, we weren't bringing him back, and people thought I was hating. All these rumors happened and literally he was about to shoot in a couple of weeks with us UM, so people thought that he was out the show. And so then when he did pop up in the middle of the season three, people were like, oh, they saw all the complaints and they changed it and they put him back in the show. And it's like, no, we shoot right then it's crazy and people think you're late. So no, I don't get to like and I wouldn't want to write to audience feedback, but when I was doing for a Black Girl, my web series, like that helps you know the audience because they would be like, like, I take constructive criticism. So they'd be like, your lighting is bad, Like I really want to get in the show, but the lighting, And I'd be like, can I get some help on lighting or you know, and then there were saying certain constructive things and don't just make me pay more attention, but um for a show. If that's impossible to do, what made you to start going online? What made you just? Man, I was trying to break in by uh doing scripts, you know traditionally, so you always like the way to break into Hollywood before as a writer was to write a spec script, which means, like you write a show, like if you like The Office, you'd write a sample script of the Office, and then you try to find an Asian and get with that. But that's exactly that a demo. And that was hard. You know, you had to have connections to even get somebody to look at it. And when I had ideas from movies and I have these opportunities, and I'd have these meetings and like the general consensus was, like the work I had black characters and everything that I did in the consensus at the time was there's no audience for this, or you have to make it more multicultural me, which means, you know, make it white. And it just got frustrating. And at the same time, like I was always on the internet. I've been on the internet since I was like, you're still internet, you still have the YouTube channel, I still we still do all of that. But I was like just obsessed with talking to strangers online when I was younger, and then I just it just was a natural to build a community. And so like with my Facebook came out Twitter all that, I was just constantly building community and just making content online to make myself laugh, to make my friends laugh, and then I just took it seriously. Wow, wait, hold on how much of hip hop was an influence and everything you've done, because it felt felt sure that was a big part of it, incredibly, Like I love I mean I love obviously like rap music, I love R and B. I just love our music. Like just seeing you to shirt you would wear on insecure, like things like there's a little detail like that, there's a hip hop head right here. Yeah, I mean it's essential to the music, Like hip hop is storytelling and so like are you picking the music? I'm thinking a lot of because the music that on Insecure and even seeing the new series, it's it's incredible, like shout out and the record label, thank you what happened. But I had to shout out our music supervisor on Insecure here like I was very specific in terms of what I wanted to show the sound like he was in rap Ship as well. Rap Ship we do on the radio side, but here on Insecure was just great about how amice fine new artists to like put in the show, And you know, I had my own list, but he was so great about Discovery too, So I discovered so many other people to put on because of him. But heavily curate the shows. You know, one of the most underrated UM characters and Insecure, who I feel like, I know Blood Homie, that the Blood Home Bees. I just have to be like, like what is he saying? And I had to from his partner. He was like, I'm getting breakfast. Everything is to me. It was like it was it's crazy because actually really real people like that. That's Blood Country and that's my friend from high school Tristan. Actually some people don't recognize. Like in my web series Awkward Black Girl, he played like the baby voice whisper dude and it. We used to be in plays together in high school and he would just steal the show. And so then you know, thug Yoda his own character. He's always everybody's favorite character and whatever. I didn't know talented basically like anything, the most talented, one of the most talented actors that I know. So when HBO first call, what was that like? Because did you did you you feel a pilot for Insecure? So yeah, so how do how does And if let's just be clear, Netflix is on the rise at the time, but HBO is still the biggest company in the world this time. This had to be like an honor them calling? What is it? What do they say? They want to work with you? Fine? And what is that conversation? Yeah, it was basically like, we want to take a meeting with you. And at the time I had two meetings with him. One two meetings with them. One was with the now president of HBO and he wasn't exact at the time, and it was it's what they call a general meeting where they're just like, oh, the industry is talking about you exactly, so let's just see what you're working on. And I was nervous and I meet it I didn't really understand what the general was, but it was just getting to know them and getting to know him. And then I went on my way. And then I got an opportunity to work with Shanna Rymes at ABC to shoot a pilot or to write a pilot, and then that ultimately didn't go and I was devastated. You know, Shanna Rymes is a big deal to black writers, to people in general, and I felt like I failed and I missed my one chance to like make a show. And then after that, like literally after I got to know that it wasn't gonna go through, I got, you know, a call from my managers at HBO reached out and they were like, you know, what do you have? Do you have anything for us? And that's when I was like, I'll get something ready for you guys, basically what they've seen on YouTube, based on what they saw on YouTube. And at that time, I think, No, I didn't have a book out. You're telling me they called, you didn't even have insecure. No, I didn't have anything. I didn't have anything. And even what I ended up picking has evolved so much since then, you know, so it wasn't insecure when you first pick it was called nonprofit. When I first picked nonprofit with it was gonna be more centered in that world. Um and then Molly was more of a side character who I would like, you know, go to visit from time to time and learn about. But it wasn't as central. And then you know, during the development process it became insecure. But I just had I whipped up something for for that meeting, and that's what they bought in the room, and then they just changed over time. Were you already successful on YouTube because you hear a YouTube content creators are killing it? No, because that's a crazy People call me a YouTube star. But when I think about YouTube stars, they have millions of yous. They're making six figures just off their content. And you know, we had accumulation of a million of views. But I was not a YouTuber. I wasn't a blogger. I started on the internet, but it wasn't it wasn't paying my bills. But I had a loyal fan base though, an extremely loyal fan base and viewers who were supportive, who would like give money to our kickstarters, to Patreon and all that. But but that has to be something positive to say that HBO would take the meeting with you, because it wasn't just based off of like the numbers at Yeah, it was based off the content you were creating. And that's kind of how HBO rocks because it's not like they have listen, I'm not mad at it, like your numbers, that's all I care about. Yeah, and then you have a deal. You have a deal. Yeah. I think HBO operates like that in general, because even some of the most prestigious shows, they're not like millions the hell of you, but they like take the time normally. You remember the days with networks if you had a million viewers, two million viewers, you get canceled and they get they're really patient with their audiences, and you know, I think that that's that's helpful because would you would you labeled like the first season Insecure? Was it success or was it success to you? Was it successed to them? Like? How did you move forward? It was a success to all of us, Yeah, and it wasn't like a ratings juggernaut or a ratings success. But in terms of the response, the critical response, that's about the cultural success. Like when that season finale hit, that was life changing to me because I was just like this is this is crazy. I'm logging online and I'm seeing people talking about these characters and I'm not even like searching for the show. I didn't log onto Black Twitter. I was just like, I was like, oh ship, the people are just talking about the show and I'm not promoting or anything, and there are and this is crazy. This is what you hope for people to get invested in your characters like this. That's That's how I knew the show was ahead when I've seen people arguing with it as if it was real life. Like I was looking, I was like, wait a minute, do they really know that this is a show like they were going you got Some of us would tell me like, you know, I fought with my girl, you know, even for like weeks after that, or I broke up over this, and I was like, this is crazy, but keep it coming, baby, to keep more. Tell me do you know I said it earlier? But um, do you feel like I don't? I don't because Larry David made a lot of money. Yes, do you feel like the Black Girl version of Larry David? I wish because Larry David had Seinfeld, so he had hell of money off and that tournament to sig felt, that's different money because they got syndication. But how did it become different money? How does sifle become that revered? Is what I want to know. I do, but I just it's like there's a lot of great shows. Yeah, but I mean like those network shows that were hit show about nothing. It was nothing, and they like change the way that, like sitcoms work, like everybody he's not invited people, Oh my god, I'm sorry. We haven't drunk. That's your older friends. You can't invite your older friends some time we come because he was on his own. Oh but you know it's the crazy thing, you know, finished the trade of thoughts about well, I mean, like it's just it's just network TV. They could like then they can sell it to like a TBS and syndication money and all that, and we don't have that anymore. That's a whole other thing. So like the money is different there, but stuff might change so you get Netflix money too. I've seen love Birds too, Thank you. That was funny drawing. Yeah, I'm getting a little a little, a little, a little changed a little. Don't be modest. We're gonna b we know what change up, baby, because I remember when they said, HBO forty million, No it's not forty go a little bit up north, and then Charlotte Magnet spreading the three hundred. I'm just just keeping his room going. It's not it's not keeping it's not it's whatever it is. We are fucking proud of you, and keep keep thinking, thank you so much. Let me ask you you really are although you you take place in social media? Uh you you you you're a dogs You're not. You're not fooled by that ship like she doesn't impress you like you're not like for instance, like everyone heard you got married, like you kind of kept that ship on the log like I know you had a lustrious ship, you know, I know you wanted to post like dogs flying out from like doves flying out from you know what I mean? Like where you those from? From the preacher's head like we know. But what you did, that's like, that's that's crazy. And your man has to be secured. I see what you did there. Yes, I would say that I agree with you. You have to be very secure. He's very wherever he had I spread the word I'm famous at one point, at one point when my wife wasn't posting me my part right there at one point, and I was like, wait a minute, you know, I'm in r E like you better showing me off. And so I'm just saying I even got like that, and I'm a person that's famous. So what was that? That was a dedicated listen, let's go. Let's see Gemini. You're kind of crazy, have you have you like cut somebody off really quickly in your life, like yeah, it's done, it's done. It's y're like, whoa, We'll trying to make it work. But once it's done, y'all are calls. But you know, respect, No, but what that gotta be a strong man. He's a very strong man. Yes, I was respect him. I said him. It was in Paris, right he was in that there was I passed. It was in con France, Paris, big Brother Parish is cultured spade. I killed that. I killed that. I hope he wanted to screening the movie and then got married. I was like no, not at know it was doing was up because someone, uh, someone asked me to do something and not today that. I was like, you know what, maybe I can book a show off all the time. So another thing that was calling around about how much you do for people that you don't bring up. You bring up so many people. Was like, yo, you have no idea how much he said, does that comes and go look out for people. So want to ask her for a favor. She would remember it and come back and go get these people and do it. You gotta be true, look at your face, your ship just because it makes me uncomfortable, like you know, because it's just yeah, getting your flowers make it uncomfortable, not getting my flowers. I appreciate all that, but it's it's like, you know, I think what isn't considered those people show up and do the work, like you can't you can't give someone a chance or you can't give a recommendation if those people don't deliver. So yeah, I appreciate that, like credit and stuff like that, but yeah, I mean, and it was this just several people. This wasn't just one person. Like I don't want to reveal my name, so I want to still get information from them. So so well, yeah, I thought that that was amazing because you know, um, I can feel your energy, I can feel like who you are. I'm a virgo. We connect whatzing wet geminized. We got, we got good. I'm a capricorint that's January and December late. Okay, yeah, oh you're perfectionist. No, what's your meticulous like? That's why you're I'm a little judgment specific. That's very specifecific doesn't make sense sometimes, but he's very specific, interrupting, No, no, no, I deserve it. I deserve it. So baby, do you want someone the champagne? Because okay, alright, cool? And we got we got, we got flowers because our show is about giving people flowers. Let me just tell you something. What you're doing is remarkable. What you're doing is dope for any any race in the nationality, any color, creed, but for it to be your story and where it came. Because me and you're from the sat hood of Synagogue. I don't know if you know that what I ain't from synagogue. Get your flowers because you want? Yes, this is fired. Thank you all so much. I know I love this is incredible. You could take candidate. That's the TV. I can't do that. You see the Tyson bites? Yeah, those ears. He's not care for Rose. Who y'all see the Rose Mike Tyson Hulu series that ship looks fired. Oh no, it's a doctor series. It's a it's the scripted series which Trevante Rose, who was in Moonlight. He's playing Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson has never been finer. It's let me ask you going back to Wrap Ship real quick, Um, why did you you only drop two episodes? So Wrap you said the thing about the time. So I love one of the things I loved about Insecure, and what I love about just even linear weekly shows in general, it's like everybody wants to Sundays and you have something to talk about and it's a communal experience. And that's what I miss about TV is just you know, a streaming that just dropped it at midnight and everybody watches it at different times, and it feels like there's no like so much of the exciting part about pop culture is being able to talk about it with your friends, talk about it with your coworkers and all that. And so with rap Ship, I wanted to drop. We wanted to drop the first two episodes because I think you can get more of a complete picture but at a specific time at six pm Pacific, nine pm Eastern, and that that way every week you're going to have something to at least look forward to, and people who want to watch it at that time you can watch it at the same time and talk about it. You know. It's one of the whole just the first two and then it's weekly after the week. I ain't gonna lie. Um. I love bitch watching, but when I'm into the show, I kind of want to wait till that Sunday. Get my popcorn, get my crab legs, you know, get you know, you be prepared and watched the show before that, because it's always like a lame show before it. I don't know why. And whenever it's a dope show, it's always like it's always like a show about pottery and ship like you know what I'm saying. Like, But but then you get involved with that because you're like, I watched it last they do to sit yourself, and then it goes So I'm into that. I'm into that. I always felt like because I think probably television at one point gave up only in New York and went straight to s Yeah. Yeah, And I hate that because it's well I love Benging and stuff too, but I want to power over that to say what you want how I asked for it, as they've never HBO has never done this before with their streaming shows, strictly HBO Max Max. So that's why it's not airing on regulars, only on the app. So that was the only opportunity we got and shout out to HBO Max. They're like, okay, well we'll give it a shot. And but like I love like with beinging shows that gets it pisses me off because I want to talk about it with my friends and they're not. They're not watching watching it yet. Watching friends, you talk, we can't talk about it. And then when they watch it, I'm like, I'm onto the next one. I don't I don't care what you have to say anymore, you know. So it's like to be able to provide that experience hopefully. Um yeah, we'll see what happened in season one done like films and everything's done. Everything's done, So all of it's gonna because I feel like you would film at a rolling loud right now for it. That's that's interesting. We might have I mean, like you know, that would have been would take us not thinking enough. But we haven't gotten our official season two yet, so we have to we have to write this season too, so we'll we'll be if we write season two and we get the green light, we'll be. We're disposable if you need us. I don't know. It's on camera that they drink thank you something holy ship. Don't you know my cause when Christ with Nick Cannon, we oh, yeah, we definitely did. We don't know where that movie went was. It was Dracula movie. We supported support, we support our coaching man, and it was fun. It was fun. Drink Champs he was he was the character on Drink Champs. Yeah, is that with that still? Then you'll just posted up the way where he came on. Yeah, he came one murder murder and he came as murdered death kill. Yeah. You know what's so funny about that? I swear to god, I don't know if I told you. Puff Daddy says. He calls me and sends me a clip with this ship. Calls me sis, like, yo, who is this guy? And how the fun did he make it to the show? Put it out? Is this murdered death kill character? And we even fooled off and he's just like he was really cool people. The attitude he was like yo, bo I thought we got certain people that we who is this guy? We have a criteria. I called everybody from Hollom. No one knows that. I was like, I was like, puff, you need it too much into this ship. But it was it was it was Nick Cannon and character. That's the sign of a good movie acting ship. So yeah, y'all parties, Oh yes, famous, are you gonna come to one store all white? That should be? I can't do all I'll be feeling like a Santaia ship going on voodoo and somebody come with a duck cut up their neck. And I've watching documentary's lately. I've been scaring the ship, I can tell you. So I've been hearing about these YA parties. What happens in these your parties. It's just fine, it's not crazy, it's just fun. It's just like, you know, a chance to let loose. I tweeted one day where like I was like, you want to yeah, I just want to do your ship with my friends basically, and I was like, exactly exactly. And then I realized like, oh, I can do this. And then through a party one year and then it just became like a little tradition for me. We just didn't want in Miami around like a b ff. And it was just fun. It's just an opportunity to like be yourself. It's not a stuffy for Hollywood party. Is just have a good time, drink, dance and act up. Wow. And this is this is after Drake um Kenny your party and about you. Oh no you you came late. No, that was that was like going no, no, he just passed by. He said magical words and said no. But that was that was it. There was no holloway Shane. I was in the presence of friends leaving an HBO party going to a Netflix party. Just make for you for you getting that money money, Jared, I'm sorry, I gotta go to my other check. What determines the class? That's what I want to know. You can start, you start, you can start. You can start your own class cloud gang, you can start your own clas check. So, so, what what is your relationship to I am oh Man. Shout out to for Real, who also had a great interview year. He's um he like discovered the Aukwa black girl him and his It wasn't you wouldn't be on no the second season. Watch the first season of aucware black Girl and just gave it some much love and was like, uh, like, I'm doing a venture. It was a top secret venture at the time, and he was like, yeah, if I do this, I would love to to bring this on. And I was like, that's amazing because we don't have any money to do a second season, so if you can make that happen. And so he took uper black Girl under his um mother umbrella and we just got our entire second season funded and you know, he was just super. He was promoting and shut out of it, and it's just changed. And that's when you know, like other other bigger outlets got wind of it, and it just gave us press on a different platform. And so shot up to him. He's just he's always ahead of the curve and everything that he does. And um so it felt like an honor that he had seen us and ye him, he helped you trying to say it's because of his he that did he confirmed his first real hit. That's that's that's fire. I mean, I don't want to brag about it. You know, who's counting. Where Where did it come from? Where did it come from? Yeah? Like did you just hear in the beat or did you meet him first? No, I met him. Uh this was this was the time of baggy clothes and this this is when I knew like he was the chosen one though, because we had on four X and he had on extra medium and it was like it was mad And I was like, he's different because I see his veins coming out, like you know what I'm saying, small change, a little to go on. But he said to me, he said to me, if you listen to me, we'll go number one. So I flew to Miami and he told me not to listen to the to the to the third beat. So I listen to the third beat. It came on. Listen to it in Miami mad old school year CD. So it was I remember. The only difference was he came on. It was like super thugs, like you met a mamoril Noriega. He's in the Philippines. And that was the first time I've ever seen someone do a beat that was for me. And then under it it was going, it was going yeah, yeah yeah, So I said, you can I change that to what as crazy as patting about was just singing that crazy. It was crazy, his mind blowing I'm definitely using that for something. I don't know. But but and I came back the next day and I laid it and and I counted the boss what what what what? That's how I counted boss what what? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? What? Counted his bars? And I did that and then I went I got a sandwich or something. I came back and I was saying, for real, you gotta erase that. That's that's not the hooks. They're gonna laugh at me. I was just saying one word, and he's like, and you're gonna laugh all the way to the pit. For some reason, I believe this guy. I was just like, holy sh it. I was like, I was like, fucking I believe him. Man, West is history, so literally. That was his first hit single. I believe he had other records, but his first hit, his first time and his first time. This time he appeared on the record. He appeared on like he's singing because he's like rump shaker and all that your first official Okay, let's listen how I see that? Yeah, but you also got the key to Inglewood's spy. Now it's like plastic, it's not a literal kid time I'm dispot it's like Meantford. It's decorative, it's like you can it's a conversation starter. So like like that up there, Like if I had that, it's in my office right now. We can give the key to dream chance to people when they go, no, don't don't diminish, don't be giving people keys. It's but I was really honored, you know, because I'm not. People think I'm I'm from Inglewood, but I just read angle with my grandparents are from there. I'm from so yeah, where they built a freeway. Afterwards they kicked them out. Where they keeped everybody up there during the rights Damn, that's history. Yeah, so you went from Senegal to Maryland. She wasn't in Santegal, bro I did? I did? I went on, I was born in l A. Lived there for a minute. I read something after Senegal kind of like what I just said on me Like I just said that it was born in l A, Senegal. Five years in Maryland. Then back to l A. Maryland. White schools. Maryland white schools, Yes, white schools, Like never hear white everything I've never experienced. How is that? Um? It was? You know, I was. It was one first through fifth grade. So it was just like, Okay, I just became aware that I'm a I'm a black person, you know, being in Africa, everybody's black. Um. And then go went to Maryland. It was just like, oh, they're my hair is different than everybody. They're pointing it out. But I wasn't like I'm oppressed. It was just like I'm a child. When I went to Senegal, I was probably like four or five six, You're in a different country. Yes, this is a black country. Now you come back to America, and it did it feel different? It definitely felt different, Um, But I wasn't. I don't think I was smart enough for conscious enough to understand what that difference. Man. Until I was like, you know, I was, it was understood that I was different. You know, I was different when I came to Maryland, but I was just you know, I adapted really quickly to everything. And it was except coming back to l A. That was a culture shock because you know, when you go into middle school, that's when everybody's aware of each other. That's when everybody stops being like nice. That's when we point out the differences. And so that was like really really clear. What was the difference they were pointing out about you though, that I was just lame attributes that they that you felt that were being pointed up. I spoke like a white girl, you know, and I was just not. After your first year in Maryland, you adapted to Maryland, right, yeah, But by the time I came back to l A. I was just you know, I wasn't conscious like I was. I was a big R and B head, but I wasn't a big hipop had at the time. And so one of the things was, like Tupac had died, like my first year back in l A and ninety six, I was, I was in sixth grade and that was within like the first couple of weeks of school because it happened in September, right his death yet, and so like I just didn't know who he was. My brothers were super hipot was at the time. This morning and I and not only do I not know who he is, I pronounced his name. I tried to get in conversations like to Pat died, Oh no, let's talk about it, you know, And so thank just did not sunk with me after that. Did you have white friends named Brittany or I have black friends named Ashley. I didn't have. I didn't have That's the thing in Maryland because those like the white white friends. Right. I had a friend named Lisa, but I have friends from like all different races. I had a Japanese friend named Erica. You take me back. I had a Peruvian friend named Jessica, a cousin friends. I didn't have any keeping friends. I'm sorry, I don't have any keeping friends. I don't want to keep it. I don't have any party your friends in Maryland many friends Colombians Colombians. No, damn, I'm just black friends. Now. I didn't have no, say where your friends in Maryland to sleep? But no? Then then after that, you know, now I have mostly I don't know that I have many. I have mostly black friends, right, And we appreciate the way you cast because we know you of us. Thank you? What does that mean? Thank you? I'm just taking it, you know, I'm just saying, because you know, one of the most awkward things in the world for me, right, as a person who smokes weed, is to see somebody who don't smoke weed smoke weed, and I'm like, oh, this is not how we smoke. We enjoy you know what I mean, Like like I wouldn't just smoke cigarette, say somebody did. I'm like, motherfucker, if you love cigarettes, you won't smoke no cigarette like that. I love that love. I can look at that ship like like your characters to me are authentic you whether they being authors still acting just good. But to me, like like your your audience and I'm not a part of it. We indulge into. It's like like like I said, I believed her name. I believed her like honestly, I doubted it. I doubted that at first because I was just like, wait a minute, like do you have experience to like follow as a rat show? Like you know what I'm saying. I was like yo, And then I was like, you must have been on set coaching every single day. Okay, not coaching, but every just some serving notes, but every single day absolutely, because do you make a guest appearance on this one? No? For me, it's all that on the scenes. But you know it's my direct mine. I did not direct, No, I just I produced it and lots of the credits and you you you you yeah, not not on the direction side. Directing. It's not for me right now? But we had great directors. Shout out who directed our first two. It's different directors. Yeah, directed our first two, and then we have direct other directors throughout the show. J Ellis who plays Lawrence, he directed our finale. So I'm really one of the dudes from Insecure. In the first episode, yes, he played Dr Sharon's um, and there are a couple of cameos throughout, but I am not in it and my homeboy from UM. A lot of people don't think I knew this um from Vice Principles who the baby father though he's from Vice from Vice PERivale. You never seen Vice Percivals, No, but I just got into him. Danny McBride through the new show. Do you watch that one on HBO? The Religious want Righteous Gemstones? You racious? They preach, you know he actually they preach and they pop with you. Yeah. Oh yeah, a good show. It's a scripted show. Yeah, you make me think he's a documentary and girl the preacher this Danny mcbrine, and they're rich, but they some corrupt motherfucker's and it makes you think that they're trying to say, like how these preachers alms like that? And they had like a congregation where one guy got caught by a reporter and he goes and tells him. He was like, yo, man, if he came and got me, he's gonna get you all. And then they're like, well, you on your own on this one, and he starts telling him, you know what I know about your ship? You don't know what you know? Basically, you know what else? You put me on too? And I didn't watch it yet, but I'm very curious. F Boy Island. I heard you my ship and this season two just came out commercial right before you. The happiest moment for me was watching season two of Island and seeing a preview for raption. I was like, look at that. It's good. It's just good trash, you know, And I think that that's essential. You have to have good quality trash. Yeah, and that's what I watched, Like when I want to turn my mind off, I watched every single dating show known to man. So f Boy Island. The F stands for like the p Valley is pussy Valley. Okay, it wasn't ready buy you watch it? Watch val no foy Island Island. If you watch the first season. I think it's the ninth episode it has pissed so many men off in the best way. I think it's worth watching just for that ninth episode. I think it's the greatest educational piece. It's not educational, sure, yeah, I think it's a It's just really really like in your face and it violates a bro code in a way that people, the men get really mad watching it. It's really good. Okay, were ready for cook time slot. Let's do it. But the way we juicy this is juices and my wife owns the juice balls is coconut You we are you gonna explain the rules? Yeah? Oh, this is the game. This is the game. You got you got your shot? What's your preference of shot? I have this to write, but I already did too much. What are you? What are you talking about? I'm gonna do you have been here for? Should be Japanese? Del y'all? Should I do? Want you want to just sip your shot? We're going to tell you two names or two things. You pick one or the other, no shot, if you pick both or neither. I have to take a shot, yes, but we all take it with we all take only that's a gentleman. Yes, Um, I'm gonna let you pick. Do you want me to what are you drinking? Brown? You want me to drink Japanese del y'all plays right now? Yeah, we have to keep in line with what's going on. We have Dominican mo Mohuna was like some of that. I do not recommend that. Look you should try it, just he's my friend. But someone makes that in the bathtub and can do you don't want none of that. He's not a kindle man. Listen, they make it babs and I was making in the bathtub me. They make it like it's toilet wine. Like I'm sorry, I like these guys. I'm just saying, Mona, can't what is playing? I'm just playing, you know. I like you. You could do voodoo with it too, about see what I'm saying. I don't with ghosts. Yeah, but it's a herbal look so like absent type situation. Are you hallutening? Now? Come out? You called on this ship? Don't make no sense. You're already called on. He can't make no sense to this if you will drink this. And I'm sticking to the Japanese public now and it's okay, I'm gonna chill on. I've been I've had some episodes. I don't know where you're gonna go. I don't know where you're gonna go with this one. Okay wait wait you said to it. Yeah ready, yes, Laura, No Queen Latifa or MC light. Uh love me some MC light with all my heart. But Queen Latifa, you and living single, You and I t y like her trajectory. She's a wrong colm queen like she. They both look beautiful, they have aged beautifully. But Queen Latifa is that bitch that I aspired to on mini levels. So that's my bitch right there. No disrespect you and I Yo, But did you realize that I came up with this theory the other day? You can totally shut me down. Queen Latifa invented afrobeats. No man know Clee show it's gonna because look, she had the accent on you and I as an accent. Tell them that that's it's that the nurse don't fother not because she was a couple point one, but she was like, I was like, I'm gonna listen to that beats. No beat beat fairy man. You got your opinion on your mind. Sometimes you would beat sometimes you win. Ship you because the record it's afrobeats. I listen, man, I'm taking with my story. Man, story's terrible. Man. Sorry, sorry Lauren Hill or Rhapsody, that's unfair to Rhapsody. I feel like Rhapsody would say Lauren Hill and I love me. It was crazy Lauren Hill. We technically only had one album, just Lauren Hill defined me. She the foogie bro, what are you're talking? That's not her? When you say laurens not her? But what about just Lauren Hill? When when you when you google Lauren Hill, they don't say the food I mean just here when you google her, there is no her discography. It says just that she only has one from what I only has one? Tell me what, I'll tell me what all the albums she has don't have? You gotta have her length album was technically an album? It was it was it was her performing the Miseducation. It was like the entire like all falls down sample not camera. I'm sorry to brost your bubble, but it's not. It's not the reason why you picked up how many albums you? Yes, it is, don't tak to the afrobeats man. Yeah, I'm gonna go it just like you told me to go back to breaking. Don't you were wrong then I did? You don't believe? Okay, we're a good one. Dream Dog or dog Ja Cat um shout out to dream Dog just performed last wow Um. I think she's phenomenal, does Ja Cat. However, it is my choice just because she's very versatile. I have I'm partial to her starts on the Internet and her viral fame that led her to who she is now, So do Ja Cat and she's just she's just wait, we didn't know that. What what did you have to do? I'm saying, like her journey like and then she blew up and she liked sustained that ship. Yeah, that's hardy biggie or bigg out Um biggie. You don't have displaying Set it Off all poetic justice, damn, damn. You can take a shot. It's safe to say. No, I'm committed. Like I said, I already have to pee. I'm gonna go and set it off. Set it Off. Set it Off is by simple math. Poetic Justice has two queens. Set it Off has four queens. So I'm going with that. And the soundtrack, I'm gonna say that the Set it Off soundtrack has an age over a poetic justice. I'm gonna probably regret that you've been on soundtrack. You're doing rap and it's supposed to be fired. Okay, fire, okay, not a chunch. You want to take a break now, Okay, we finish, okay, Okay, maybe not. It depends on n W or wol Tang clan w You want to think about it a little bit. No, I can't. I respect we're saying. Yeah, how was it? It was? You know? I mean, I don't think, come on, I can't do a better luck. I do a better vision. Okay, little baby or dub baby, little baby okay. Kendrick or Cole Ken Jake, I'm always gonna be partial to my hometown. I like Jake Cole a lot, but Kendrick is Compton. Absolutely don't expect that even or Missy and we don't drink yet because I'm very solid in my opinion like this, we're gonna drink something Eve or Missy, Missy came first, right, so, and she's a pioneer. People are still imitating her eves outstanding, a lyrical genius, hell on her own. But I'm gonna go with Missy Okay Tupac or d mx m hmm, but DMX rest in peace, Rest in peace, don't go a lot. She's definitely on some gangship nip nip who are easy are easy? Mr? One more out of my shows, like The White. I remember the White off season, remember the Yeah, until I was like watching season two was the best season, know the whole Wire? And then when you like finished the season the series, you appreciate this season too, but while I was watching the season till I was like the phenomenon um future or Young Doug future, young Thug um. First of all, y'all doubled up on that one, guys, Empty Raps or Rap City, No, we did that. We already doubled up, doubled up com Local rap City was one on BT. Yeah, years different versions, Joe Claire. Yeah, it was a basement. There was the other rap City that was just wrapped in the Rap City of the basis. By the way, the basement. Wait, so it was I was ticket or was the basement? Baby? So what was rep City? No? No, they're all REP City definitely, Okay. I honestly didn't like any of them. No. I mean I saw his interview here too, and I love that he's like, you know the verses. Yeah, um, that's hard. I know it's not hard. Sure, it's pioneer, and I feel like he came first. He did come first, So I'm gonna goes and you come out on roller skates easily, then it's even more. I don't want to skates backwards backwards on roller skates. He has, ye, I don't know why, because your hands out a runners skate backwards. I think that's like this. He was like that. He like in New York one day I didn't like it. I was like, I don't cast K. That's a hard one outcasts, you know, because of also what Andre three thousands just did for influencing entire culture of artists, of black artists, black male artists, and three thousand made it okay to be different in the best way. So I have so much respect for you g K though, but I think with outcasts that's WUV or TLC. Just it. Yeah, I'm drinking, that's exactly I can't do it. Okay, we've got two more diff you don't get back into any but that's it, okay. Joe to see your jacket edge, Joe to see easy Sorry we should did Joe to see your a new edition. Yeah, you went straight and you the trainers And she was like that a couple. Yeah, some people just go in though some people want to just pick both both. Yeah. Um, it's the last one. Everyone thinks a true question. To me, it's not a true question. Loyalty or respect is a true question. Yeah, sometimes okay, both okay to me, that's as we okay you guys to get rap and break ye so badly trading cards like n f T trading cards. Yeah, man, yeah it's French or everybody. Yeah yeah, it like he like, damn there slum dog billionaire because somehow this nigger knows everybody. Everybody. But the way, we don't have that many females for us. We've been on a female coming up already filmed, then we got probably we have the motherfucker right, the best bet? Yes? Yes, does Lisa Ray hate you? You know it's crazy. I have gone most of my career with people being like Lisa coming, No, I'm not a tod my homie. He's a use, you know. I'm like what, I don't know, I don't know you just said. I was like, it's wrong, it's not no. And then I met her at like I'm gonna say somethenything or it's this thing, and she was just so nice. She was like girl, people confused me for you. I was like, what girl? People are always disappointed to see me because she was just She's but I'm not gonna lie. Whenever I'm at an email, I'm at a hotel or whatever, or like trying to sign up for a fake site. I put Lisa Ray at gmail dot com. So I hope that's not her email, Lisa Ray Gmail. I just that's what I use. That's my fake email. So I hope that she's not Lisa Ray com because she's getting all my spam. Because IM saying, yeah, we like Lisa Ray still around, I was like, no, like, oh insecure still around guys, She's she's out here. Yea god damn it got piece need. Yeah, what was the moment when you felt like you made it? The moment where I felt like I made it? Do you feel you've made it yet? I think that made It's like you're done? So I felt like, um, well joined the party. For example, she she feels that there's a lot more she's got to do, and I believe her because Patty Pie came when she was like what sixties something, so like what else she was talking about this a wine coming out? Um, I feel like, yeah, I feel like I have so much more to do. I like I've only written one TV show now too. That's the errand right now and all this, all that I have right now has come from a web series and one TV show, So I'm like, I haven't even I haven't done a movie yet. I haven't like as far as me as a creator, I haven't done so much, and so I felt like there's there's just so much more for me to do and do well, and even outside of the entertainment industry. So I feel very much like, yeah, I am kind of just getting started. And you swore off not doing a movie for Insecure, and I was mad until I've seen Sopranos movie, because sometimes if you take too long. They stopped identify movie for Insecure. Yeah that would be a dope movie though, but the movie was sex. Wouldn't Insecure movie be good? And they had to sex in the City movies And the second when they said it wasn't great, I don't think I saw this second one. I think I saw both. I gotta remembering impression on you, and I don't want that. I don't want like, oh, the show meant something much to me. The movie, you know, I just wanted to go down and know that that movie wasn't great. My song was in there, sir, I don't want this. You didn't like the Austwards. I didn't see it wasn't a good movie. It wasn't a good movie. Was you a fan of Entourage? I watched it like later after it was on on. I watched up until the very last season. I never finished the show, but I liked it. I like what I saw. It was just like it was like a very dude show to me. When we were like, oh, it's a chick flick for Insecure, that's how I f I was like, Oh, this is a dude show. This is very much made for dudes. But I still funk with it. What's your favorite series that you wish you would have produced that you got something like, let suppose someone presented you something. I have an elementary. I'm gonna say that right now, Quincy show. I'm just like, Quinta, you haven't you haven't seen I have an elementary bro okay U. It's on It's on the ABC, but yes, the Arizon, Hulu. It's a network show. Network comedy and network comedies haven't been this popping. Like everything you watched is like on Three Men for the most part, um and she broke out the mode. She's funny as the entire cast. It has O g s and new people and it's just funny, and it's just such a simple premise in theory of just like a mockumentary in a in an elementary school and it's just funny. But can you explain to people what mocumentaries is because I just like The Office, Modern Family. Yeah, it does how white people. It's the style of filming. It's the style of it's not a documentary. It's the style of filming. Now, it's a style. It's there. They're actors, but they're acting like they're not. It's almost like a reality show. It's curby Enthusiasm documentary. Oh, that's like a question, no, because they don't have confessionals. It's more shot in like a coon in the office. There's no green screen. Yeah, it's like it's literally like documentary style mockumentary, but the curve is just shot like raw. Yeah. I love I love it. When I found out like it's like improv, like like almost improv that they have like bullet point, Yeah, bullet point. Yeah, that's how I did. I'm not auditioning it for you, but maybe I'm a text you know, come on, I have she's gonna eventually see it. I have followers from tagging you. I sent you a rail of my just one scene, but that doesn't kind of a real I thought she was gonna die the whole time. I thought he was gonna shoot you the whole time because like you were, you know that convincingly annoying. I was like, he's about to pop. Do you know I freestyle that whole ship? Listen. I landed, I'm on tour. I'm on tour, I promise you. And first of if, I filled out for alcohol, I auditioned at the Real Gangster to be accessly to just Rico. I think cam camera played played it. So I went there and you know, helped me do my rehearsal. Was would Harris, who is incredible incredible yes and not notice like way more talk about the wire. But so at the time, I was super overraped overweight. I was super overweight, so I knew they was gonna give me the role. But I went and I killed the audition and I knew what it was, so um, I went and but they still wanted me a part of the movie. So they said to me a please, so that I was the lost weight. I was gonna went on for the movie. And then they said, yo, so we want you. So I was like their lines and it was like, we don't. You don't have lines. So I was like, oh, ship, So I'm just gonna be here just waving my hand and I was like no, no, no, we want you to come over with their lines. So they thought I was that ill. But I sat there and I was like, I got the line, but I had nothing. So I was like, all right, cool and at the time period piece. So you can't say I can no slang. I can't slay modern day slang. So I made you that. I'm not trying to I'm not trying to big myself even I am. I am giving myself my own flowers. Um, I did that in one take. That's what they used. I did it again. But but what no, no, no, what they used with listen, what they used was my first take, but they did record me for safety. Did they use something? They did not use that safety. They used that first pick take, they used the first What have you got since? Man, I've been sucking up whatever you put it on. It's what he's doing. And let me tell you my photography. Kevin first movie with me before before first, I gave him a gun in the movie. That was your that was like your character's role was being like the way he gave him the gun. It was fantastic. Iven infer with Mom's how you pass. I was like you need this, you know, and then and there was like cutt and then for that one, and then I started one movie. You haven't seen none of these co State Property too. Oh. First of all, properties Stay Property and Stay Property too are huge. And see a guy. When I tell you my cousins my summers watching that, it was violent, Like I don't really funk with violence, but because I get like squeamish. But when I tell you my cousins gathered around the living room to watch Stay Property one and Stray Property, I just love your cousins. I just stowed it out there. We gotta go over there. We gota come about property too, because Rember, I was with you and I was like, I can't watch this is too violent from your local in there. Really yeah, I was getting to it. That's a good name. Yes, So I'm just throwing my ring having the ring for me. Yeah, for with case any like you know, roll if you show up for ruption like that, we've already we've already signed the contracts of screen like right here, I'm I'm but all right, so be could you make everybody audition? Right? I don't like everybody audition, okay, because so like, because I'm a legend, you know, you know right now, he would never have to audition that, okay. But who's somebody that you you you you you like had to audition and they was offended. There was offended. It's a couple of people I don't want to name, Like Danny Divido came and he was like, you gotta that would be has never put the profile the baby character. He should. He should be phenomena. I just haven't had a place for him. And he would never have the audition for me because he's a like Twins that movie like came Twin Ship. He's in the yeah, yeah, he's the director and like a lot of people don't know that. I think he's like I think that's his show, is it? I believe he's I've never been like, oh, this person needs to audition for me. I've always been pleasantly surprised by who auditions and I'm like, oh, you auditioning, like you didn't have to do that? Ever awkward in that way though, But the thing is that it never happens to me directly. They will send a take and then I'm like, oh, But in some cases, like a kind of prat, for example, Kyla Prat, I have so much respect for her. I've watched her growing up. She auditioned for a role on Insecure, and seeing her, I was like, this is kind of prat. This is royalty, This is l a royalty, this is my childhood royalty, this is just general royalty. Like there was never a world where she would need to audition, but I'm glad she did because it made me remember her and then we cast her. So there are things like that where it's like there are legends that I funked with through I would never imagine would need to audition, but when they do, I'm reminded and I'm like, Yes, immediate casting or prentice is like immediate casting when we find a role for them. But is it always immediate, Like even the legends might not fit the role. Though, no, it's not always immediate, but we might find a role for them, like y'all know a Polock Jay Parker from Friday and Our Family and all that, Like she had auditioned for a role and it was just exciting to be able to cast her for for Insecure just because of who she is. But she's also mad talented and you got Amanda sales too because I met her from back in the day. Wait no, I can't remember we first met, but she hit me up we she ain't been able to do her web series. I remember she came to l A for a trip and then she hit me up like saying that she was going to do a web series called Get Your Life, and I was like, we should distribute it. And then she auditioned for Insecure and she was the best Tiffany and that was it because she Hollywood with the Hollywood boyfriend. Hollywood boyfriend. That's what I'm in Insecure. I think her boyfriend and her husband, and Insecure is Hollywood. You don't know. It was like a nerdy dude. That's like Hollywood is like black nerdy. Yeah, black nerdy. That's Hollywood too, is black nerdy pretty much the same ship. He was just a regular nerdy dude. He's like nervous whack though, regular dude. Yeah. I would hang out with him. I feel like he would be the best shouts away, he's the most he's the best person you could ever meet. If you met him, you would play him all with you also go to dinner with him. You just kickid. Let's yeah. But when we're talking about not to do the series I want to make about a handball player. The pitching doesn't stop, that wears newports ready for the budget. You gotta open those handballs or anything for him. Listen, listen, handball have you ever played with That's when I came back to l A and I was like, handble, what is this? I was like, I was made because they were longer than Olympics to me. It was longer than Olympics to me. I agree. I think handball belongs to the Olympic. Crip walking belongs to the Olympics. Skating backwards, I'm actual. Those are like double deck double do belong. They do what they do like a downgraded version they do the Olympics. The Olympics. Yeah, I think they got like a jump bro. It's like, yeah, I didn't need to like that. It didn't know wait is literally know what they're doing. Yeah. I think that deserves it. That's what we should make. Oh my god, because the way that black people doing gymnastics. Have you seen the videos of like black people just doing gymnastics or like black people doing part cour we are different dynamics, were flipping with soul. Yeah, and I feel like that's like we can't there's no comparison, like you know, no, we just automatically win gold medal. So I do think there needs to be a Hood Olympics of Black Olympics. Whatever it is, signing my idea, it's your idea, because I feel like I heard it. I think he did the idea. He wants you to open up the budget. You've got more money, he said, you've got more money. No, no, no, hold on, we can get her Olympics. And you know, we also go to one of the categories. So it's double dut double Dutch, it's gymnastics. I'm still on the call. What's the fuck? There's some great he had, like the separate the chick Olympics with the Latinos in there's the racists we all over the place. With the fact that you just do the Latinos. We can We played baseball, now we played good ball. That's already stickball, stick ball, stickball, handball, handball, that's Latino. You got that. I'm the gout to come out with the headband on like that. You know what I mean. I'm ready to play. I'm ready to play. Yeah, can you still play handball? I messed up my knee the other day. Um, but in my respect, it was a weight on the floor, like yeah, because I listened, I was, I was. I was beating everybody. I was beating everybody. And then someone threw a weight on the floor the way already on the floor, the way already on the floor. Shot. I got loose. I thought it was Jordan's and then Georgian handball. I thought of Michael Jordan up handball, you know what I'm saying. And then I hit my foot and then my foot has never been the same sense, but my heart is still in the game. Did you play tell the ball? Wait? The sting the strings? Yeah? I played in l A actually when I went to school with the thing a thing? How white you played that too? All right, I'm gonna kind of white. I mean in south Gate. I played in this Mexican and south as in Southgate. Okay, okay, well the partnership suffer. Let's get let's get to your famous speech. My favorite speech. What's my favorite speech? The famous segue was amazing, right, oh my god, because the partners. Well, let's get your favorite speech right now. You said that you you you you entered your inner rap. Oh yeah, my entrepreneurs speech entrepreneurialism because I can't announce that word. You did it great right now? Yeah, you killed that. The entrepreneur is some speech award. Okay, you got up there there. My dad just randomly walked into the room because you would basically, ain't any boy my family that I don't buy my family to anything. I don't want to bother them. But if you're proud of you, if you had this planned out, you was gonna say, because what did Snoop making his speech prior to this all? No, I hadn't even seen some speech. I didn't see some speech until people were comparing our two and okay, oh that's because he was like, I wantn't thank me if you you think you the whole time, I think I was just arrogant about my ship. That I was just like awesome, like you know, some braggadocious rapper ship where it's just like I know what the I did, but it was you're like my lawyer good looking, but whatever. That was the only one. I. I was like, I said, you are nothing, and I'm meant to say like you are nothing without me, but it was you are nothing by itself, very harsh, and I heard you know how you hear a joke not go down? Yeah, and I like wrote here but even on the pilot after that, I was like, you know how, you super hard? I feel like episode Insecure. Right, there was he in the crowd. He wasn't in the crowd, so he only so I felt like if he was in the crowd, he always saw the video and that's how I had to like clarify, like this not me. But that was that was fun. Tod. So you're sitting at home, they said you have to give an acceptment speech and you're saying, let me do the exact opposite of what these people think I'm gonna do. It is that hit your head? Yeah? I was in the hair and makeup all that way to the event, and I was like, let me write this speech. And then it just came to me to just like go outside of myself and just be like, let me just not be humble about this ship, not be like, let me not side step, and it was it just ended up working out because you know, it was just a more it was. It wasn't a stuffy event, but it was just like very earnest, and I think that that helped to break the ice. I've been practicing my speech like that first wrap like that, so okay, yeah a little bit. Yeah, I was prid to send my speech like that, but you win ship, so I can't. I could. Let's hear it. We gotta speak speech to slegendary. Come on, come on, come on with the iPad. There's music to it. Oh yeah, can you can play the whole goddamn speech. No, no, you gotta say no your speech. You've been I want to hear you wanted to work flowers. Okay, make sure you've back. I'm taking it back, fuck y'all. That's my feet. No, no, no, I don't remember. I don't remember the speech, but I felt like I felt like it was so dope. It was so dope to um to see you playing around, but not playing around, but playing around, and just everyone laughing, all your peers, the oldies. Uh, these white women in the crowd, they're looking and they're they're actually laughing. They're actually getting the joke like no one is. Although some people can take that as as as a serious thing, but the people were they actually getting the joke. Yeah, like seeing it, I didn't know I by Alla Davis was there and so like watching it back yeah at me, but her brilliants. So it was just it was cool to see it play back up there. You know. I was nervous about how I was gonna play. And then again my dad walking in there and randomly without me and bidingham threw me off. But yeah, it was just like it was me. What did he think? He didn't when they said that for afterwards, I feel like he he was like, my my friends Invitami, I didn't even know you were getting an award, And I was like, he has he's just synegal, but he's been here for like over thirty years and still has an accent. But yeah, he didn't know what was going out here. I don't think he knew I was getting an award until his friends told him. And that's like a game. Do you know, acn they must know each other. Just sorry, I love you because listen, I know y'all both send it least because do you know my mom, listen, I've been trying to get blacker forever. So I've been trying to tell your breakdown. I am black and for the weekend. But you did did you do the three and me? And you found out that I was scared my wife did it? I was scared. What are you fully? What's the highest percentage? Yeah? Why is she doing an even do it? I got scared. I don't know, I don't know what man, like, you know what is going to show you? Some other ship going to let I'm Cuban and kinds of crazy ship Chinese and Sainese. Oh because yeah, because because like the Asian and Latino community is like, I don't know that my grandma, her grandfather was full blown Chinese that went to Cuba and you didn't know that until you did the thing. We it was a rumor and then she she wasn't she wasn't proud of that, and then said no, that's true. Wow, that just smells phenomena. Just shout out to the branding of that smoke that's that's that simple dog O G slash Smoke Champ. So it's not it's smells. Its Yeah. We're not trying to tell you you smoke, you know, I mean, we're not saying right now, like you cross fade, I had terrible experiences. What is that called cross fade when you are cross studied with alcohol and it's not great for me? Yeah, don't for your skin? Is it? If you tell me that I was taking another shot? Let's holy? I actually have a serious question though serious over here being the series they work on they show, they show a lot of social media influence and you yourself coming through the YouTube content stuff, have you shifted in your view of how social media's impact. I mean, I don't even know what your view was originally how social media is impacting society now like the generation now, like like I even changed, like just before you even answered, Like I used to tell people, well, it is how I'm from the generation before social media. So I use it as a tool for for my businesses. And I saw this just that I use it for personal like showing my life. I'm not from that generation. And but even now I used to I used to be like it'st but now I'm even leaning that it's even more negative. Yeah, I think for me, I identified with you, but I showed my life a lot because it felt more like in a specific community, like it was like just my friends seeing it. And then of course when you're in a public environment, things change. I was never in a public environment until things until things popped off for me, and then I was like, oh, I have to watch what I post. And then it became like I'm super careful and self conscious about what I post because people will use that against you in a way. But then I'm like, my thing is the misinformation that the number of times, like friends people associate with will send me links of things that are determined in fact that pisces me off. I'm like, don't send me ship until you have researched the fact this is true or not, because like it's just so it's so easy to be influenced by like just like oh my favorite person said this was true, so it's true, and so like for me, I recognize like the the harm and posting something that is still being debated, Like I do hell of research on anything. I don't. I don't comment on anything that isn't factual or that I'm not like certain about it sex but feel it's so eat. I see things spread, I see misinformation spread, and uh, on a larger scale, it's affecting our country. But on a smaller scale. It's like, you're dumb, you're not even researching this. Don't send this to me if you're not researching it, don't like have a conversation with me if you haven't looked up whether this is true or not. When someone tells me, in fact, I will immediately looked up like is this fact true, and then go forward from that. But I don't think that that's the same for everybody, or people just posting just to post, just to be out there because you want the engagement. And and that's the thing that I don't think we've realized the society that it's become. It's we're feens for the views of likes and whatever. Yeah, and I don't think we fully come to terms with that, you know, in our in our society right now, like I think, and specifically to entertainment, because it's a new way that we we have to engage with audiences, we promote with audiences. So we're like, oh, yeah, this is what we have to do. But I think that there's a greater bad happening that in the long run, is gonna everybody. It's already sucking the said, and I think it's just crazy because I felt like we all have that one firm where it's like where if they send you something, you're like, I'm gonna look this at myself, you know, thank you. But it feels like at large because celebrities or public figures, um, just people give them the benefit of the doubt. If they post something, then you're more inclined to believe it, and people weaponize that. And so that ship has like ruined our society because people will leave essentially like dummies. Oh yes, um, what's the ship called idiocracy? That is that the bell mar movie. No, it's a movie about the more in time that we go, the more dumber that we get. You gotta watch that watering place. They watering plants for Gatorade, so older plants die in the whole ship brands everything. It's like a dumb fucking intelligent movie. Man, I have no idea, but no scarfaces in there being a penface like literally the rappers. His name is double. What's that dude's name, the white dude? I can't think, man, they got the main dude from from old school, from old school. No, no, the one I thought. No, I don't think he's Yeah, he's from old school. Yeah, one percent. No, he's from old school, the guy Umluke Wilson. There you go. He's he's the main guy from from Okay, Okay. It's a scripted movie or something. Actually, you should watch it because it literally tells us the future and this is what ten years ago. Oh no, not something I hate when it happens too. It's just like when when the future is predicted in the future is like, but it makes tremendous and then it becomes true, just like they don't look up, ship, don't look up, don't look up. I was like, man, if they hadn't put celebrities in it, then I felt like it would have made more of an impact because because Meryl streepment later you get distracted. But if it had just been what it was, then maybe more people would have paid attention because it's literally happened. And I think differently though, I think because it had those celebrities, people even because it's a silly movie in a sense, so why would they even do this. They must take it serious the issue, but I feel like nobody respects celebrities and what they say right now, nothing none at all. Nobody wants to say at a time like this. Remember this is what. Yeah, and you also caught be for Betty Wright. You did Betty right, Betty White, Betty White, and I catch be for her specifically. First of all, White White, Betty Wright is dead, yes, and Betty White, Betty White, well, she was not. She was on Instagram because I was at the Emmy's and my family was texting me like, yo, you have them means oh I think I just lost or remember I was my world was coming up and I was responding to them, and then Betty White was on stage, but I was still very present. But you know, I got a lot of backlash, like you disrespecting Betty White? Big, what the fun? That's Betty White? Like the attention which you know respect that was? That was Illtha we do. I'm sorry you doing that. You ask messy questions when I mean, whenever I watched this, I look for you have a gentle way of asking messy questions. Congratulations, thank you. I take that as a compliment. But you also want to Peabody award. See he comes to the clean question, come right back. That was immedius questions. Now, I definitely have never met anybody who want to pee bout the award, I don't think. So that's like, you know what, I'm gonna take that. Yeah, thank you that. I didn't know what it was until we got nominated from what Yeah, and I was like, this is the most prestigious award out here. So if you don't have pody, you're yeah, like I just found out. I just found out and this is the most important a word. Yeah, but it was. It was you know, mad Awards. We gots key to the City Man Awards and to keep to my block, so you know what's your specific block left Rack City. They don't care about me. You go back there, bro, don't drive by. I can do whatever. But they're not giving me ship. But guess what, I'm still outside. What's the biggest A word? You're proud of our CBS plaque? Oh no, what you got? You got planning plaque stubs when we started the podcast We've got for the CBS radio was our first million streams for the Topic podcast and we have a gold plaque. Accuse me what that doesn't account Trust me? She will laugh at that one, Like what was the what was the interview where you're like, we just talked about this and it was a DMX I would say our first DMX, not we had him right before he died, but our first DMX and he was super vulnerable. He did a prayer. Was crazy. That took us over the top. Yeah, I mean because basically it's just us just talking. That's just really decision. Like we worked with each other's j and artists, like we worked with each other and then we put her on. The thing is he's really been a real I've been a real artist. And we appreciate this, you know what I'm saying, Like, I appreciate you know, you're sitting down with us because I know you don't have to be here. I could. I know you could be uh you know, HBO or Netflix money or whatever you can and be chilling and you know I know that. But so we appreciate it, you know what I mean. And we appreciate it. But yeah, and you found out the first time you met Rihanna. First of all, Rihanna is Rihanna is always late. But because she is, you can't anticipate her because Rihanna is who she is. You're excited that she has even I end up to like show up, you know, and like I aspired to that, Like when Rihanna shows up, you are grateful that she is there, and I just have so much respect for her. She is herself. She is like who you also aspired to because she's just like she's a class back queen, she's a mogul. She is also like an artist, and she has all of these things. And yeah, I found out who doesn't. So what was that moment like when it was a red carpet or something? You know, the first time I met her was because we were supposed to be doing a project together. Um, and that was my first time in there. I gotta beee again. I'm so, I'm taking beers, so let's go goddamn So Molly, Yeah, is that based on your real friend? Yeah, Molly is based off of my real friend who I won't name, but I feel like like Molly, not the drug character. Molly did take Molly at one point, Molly square, Yes she took. Yeah. No, she's based off of my real best friend. And like you, etna get mad at you because Molly a little loose, only not a time like that one time? My first of all, No, she's not okay, what's she a lawyer? What's her he's a lawyer? Yes, she want to lose. Yeah, they can't call women loose because y'all be out here, so like the double standard is really but yes, okay, okay, that's right. Cont but Molly, okay, my best Molly never got offended at like the dating life she got offended. I'm not even offended. She like checked me about like some family stuff came up with that, like actually paralleled her real life family stuff, and like yeah, she was like makes she's gonna put this on TV. And I was like, I swear to god, we wrote this before it happens. Yeah, before happened, Like I didn't know. We didn't use your life for this. And otherwise she's like open, like yeah, but tell this story, tell us, tell me, tell everybody about this, Lae neigger, tell me tell everybody about like this situation. But for that um, I can sense that she was like, you know, like what the funk? And I was like, I sort of, God, I didn't even know this was happening for you. They were already writing it while and then you told me. But for the most part, she's been very generous about her life. Switching up the subject a little bit because I heard a conversation with your mother basically told you, um, are you doing porn? And then you were doing porn? No, I'm not doing porn. But basically my character my mom. I discovered even wrap shit like my wrap Ship when a premiere. She was right next to me at the premiere. The only fans. My lady walked in the room and I was just she thought I was watching porn. I was like crazy was I was like, yeah, my mom is very like I didn't know this, but she's like conservative like he when it comes to sex. And I was sitting next to her at the premiere wrap Ship. First of all, for Insecure, it was me, I'm in it right, and like growing up, we couldn't watch p thirteen, you couldn't watch Look. I just want to just say, you know, well, you go all in, you do sex scenes, and I was insecure. I did which was new for me. But like I couldn't watch rad in our movies. I was very like, continued to watch rated our movies until you was our adult. You want you want to make sure you know what you so with Insecure, like I felt like the moment where she stopped and where she texts me where she was like, I'm not gonna watch because you're basically making poor It was probably around season two, and she was like, I'm not watching anymore and not like like her my feelings looky or I was like, but she my mom like you're you've been supportive and and then like you know, she saw us like the second season finale, we were all at her house because I don't have anywhere to watch it. I don't have cable and I don't think I have the A don't I don't need the judgement you already in my pocket. But I didn't have cable and stop, and so we all went to my mom's house to watch it, and she was like, when I'm going upstairs, I'm not watching this and she heard us like as siblings laughing downstairs, and then she came back and that's what brought her back to the show. But after like the come in my Eye episode, she was like, I'm not watching this episode anymore. I'm not watching this show anymore. You're a disgrace. And but then we got it back rap shut. She just came to the premiere. She was, by the grace of HBO God sitting next to me, which I was already like, oh, I don't want to sit next to my mom. But it's not me. It's not me, but she knows I made it so like I'm watching only fans. What hurt was like she was ready to support me. It's my new show, she said, next to me. Like in the first like five ten minutes, she's laughing, like and then when the only fancy come up, like see her sense of but I'm looking at her at the corner, ye, and she just stops laughing. It just like jokes after so she's not laughing at nothing. Then the second episode years if y'all made it to a second episode, the second episode, there's a very explicit FaceTime virtual sex. Oh yeah, because I know Homie wanted in the first one, so that's what he wanted. He wanted he want to phone sex. So I like playfully like sitting next to her while I had second episode airs, I put my hand over her eyes and she was like, you should have done that a long time, and I was like, yeah, like that, but she was serious and then she was just like I don't understand, like you know her mom, She's like, I did all the right things. I put parental controls. I did you know, I restricted you from seeing things like there's so many classic black movies I have not seen because my mom was like, I don't want you to see this that I had to either sneak with my friends or if I didn't see her on nice I know the Big Toe, I mean, my my big ship because of friends. But like Waiting to Excel, I never saw because she like was like every black woman got a Separd in the XCEL. That's like in like the scriptures. Sure, I haven't seen it. I could go back. I know, like you know, I have friends that work with it. But because my mom is like very straight, so in her mind she's like, where did I go wrong? How about the Martin Lawrence movie with m where he was deadline? Nah? Just like PG, I feel like I like Netflix. There was a period where the DVD phase, I bootlegged all these movies and I bootlegged themline like I ripped them line. But I don't think I ever got around to watching it. Yeah, so that was her fault. She was not working with it, and she's very strict. I remember how we got there. Let me ask you, as this is a super ignorant question as a woman doing the sex scenes, I mean I would imagine this, I would ask us to a dude as well, is it is it awkward? Do you feel like is it necessary to do those scenes that way, like to be nude and all that you're not nude, you always have protection, um, but for me, is it necessary? Like I just love a good sex scene. I love depicting black people in a beautiful like. I love sensual scenes. I love like in films like some of my favorite films do it right and where it's just like you're like engrossed in the chemistry and the romance. And for me, I want to emulate that you wanted to be real on screen. I wanted to feel real on screen where it's like oh feelings and boomerang, like even if they had like comedic scenes and like sensual scenes like like that ship is perfect to me, and I love depicting us in that light. And so it's awkward to shoot, but it also depends on your chemistry. But it's your choice definitely, not well like you have to do like this is like no one doesn't convince you. In other words, I think I'm different because I'm on the creator side, Like so it's my ship, but we're always like super open, and we leave the lines of communication open for the actors that have to be in the show, and if anybody is uncomfortable or anything, then will will adjust. But for the most part, I found that people are like generally down to just like, you know, show what they got. Some people look at it as like a resume. I've a couple of male actors that I've worked with have been like, oh yeah, ready, like like as characters that like they use it as an opportunity to show the world how they get down. And I think that's smart too. That's crazy. I think that's smart too. I think it's you know, why where why not? So when is Spider Woman coming out? That's a good question. Did you feel you start filming? Let me, did we start filming? So you know it's like the animated so I'm doing the voice, yeah already, Like I'm already grateful. I've been a Spider Man, Fanca third grade Spider Woman, Spider Woman. Make some noise for that and to filmed. We have done a lot of the work. They have done most of the animation. I have one more well, I don't know if it's one more session. What's great about those directors is they're just constantly making it better and better. So like, yeah, I've done a couple of sessions and stuff like that, but the film is great. And they've divided into two parts, so I know that. It's like, so what does that quote? Doing voiceovers? Voice work? So how does this happen? They show you the scene and no, you know what, it's crazy. In my mind I think about they don't. Like in my mind when I think about animation, I thought, you go to a booth, you look at what they've already drawn, and you like matched to that, and then maybe they changing the words in this way. Like I just go there and I don't see anything, Like it's just script and you start to imagine. And that's the beauty of direction, is that they tell you what's happening and then you have to emote to that and make it happen. But I don't know what anything looks like. They showed me a sketch of what, Yeah, that's it, like a photo of still drawing, but I haven't seen like the actions I want to do that I would love to do that. You got a good voice. What do you enjoy more? Oh, actually directing, creating or actually getting into someone and working for someone directing, creating, directing. There's nothing better than like having an idea and producing it and watching like people that you admire, talented people bringing that ship to life and making it better like eat more rap ship, like I wrote the pilot. Shout out to Serta and the writers. Like once the pilot got picked up, the world expands in a way. And then then once it's cast, it just takes on a life of its own and it makes it real. And that's what I live for, Like just having an idea and other people making it better. You just you just said the party get picked up, right, But how we read the HBO deal right? This is outside looking at We don't know your business for real, but we read that you were signed to them for five years. So when they say five years ago, is that something called like a first bright refusal? Like you have to go to them and present them with you you want to do it. If they don't want to do it, then you are you able to take that to a Netflix or take that to a showtime. I'm able to take it first to within the Warner properties. Yeah, Warner as a whole. The Warner would have exactly Comedy Central, T and T all those things. Then we can shop it around there and then I can go elsewhere. But they don't. They don't want me to go to nobody's Netflix or Apple or whatever, because that's like it's like gang territory right now. Everybody's super The ownership is real, especially with the streaming especially. Yeah, it's SUCHI the streaming stuff, and they're like, you know, they're paying me, So they're like, no, I want you to start Nobody's Netflix movie. No, I don't want you to start annoy these Apple movie. So it's like super competitive. But at the same time, as the creator, I'm like, well, if you're not gonna take it, I want to make sure it's seen. But I don't really have that option, yeah, because they have to actually turn you down. They have to actually turn down and but they've been great partners so far. They haven't turned anything down. Outside looking in, I say, stayed, I can't love And you know what, it's the quality, Like they have great quality, Like, how kid you not like that ship looked good yesterday? I was just watching it and I'm like, because I'm watching you know, I'm like, I rap ship. This is great. It's about girls, you know. And by the way, I did not know that I had the Lauren Hill type of character. Yeah, yeah, he has the tailor is missing. Yeah. I didn't really catch on until I fully watched it, and I was like, wow, and I see how they're kind of the same girl, just in different worlds and differ totally worlds, and but one is looked at as a person that is I want my daughter to listen to you. I think the guy actually checked into the hotel said if I have he said, I want my daughter to listen to you. She said, oh, how old is your daughter? He said, oh, I ain't got a daughter. You can't tell you. That's really like even the show coming out and the trailers, like dudes were just like all the things you could promote, you promoted, sister, please, like why are you promoting these ratchet as females? Why are you why are we presenting black people this way? And it's like you haven't even seen it, and why are you policing like the type of women that I can like, these are my friends, these are the people, but that's the real ship. And so like I was like, these people don't even know that they're in the show and then to show that part to show that, all right, this is one guy who says, yeah, I want my daughter to be like and then she asks him obviously and he says, no, I don't have a daughter. And then you got the other who is like almost like like I don't want to say man's fantasy, but it's like kind of like what men just wanted to see. You just want to see they don't really want to really take your dates, like like most like narcissism. And just was like, all right, cool, let mistically straight to the point. And it's to show that to show that see saw of two different size. I don't think I've ever seen that in any Just send them. I was really important because I can interview with you the next the next day. But I was like, damn, she killed this. First of all, I'm just impressed that y'all watched the ship. First of all, from so like to see the streets in there was hello, dope, and was it ever at all inspired at all by city girls at all? So what happened was when I was trying to figure out the location that I wanted to set this in, I thought about different places. So I was like, who do I want to do it in Houston. If I do it it, He's saying, I would hear to make this sillion. It was basically like who wraps her city the most? And then I was thinking about where I wanted to be in Miami. I've had more experiences there. I love Mimi. During the pandemic too, was like open during this is like during quarantine where everybody was locked up and y'all have a quarantine. Even in March we had two months. We had six weeks quarantine. That so that's when I wrote It was during that sixty filmed Okay, when I did, I was like, I'm tired of being in l A. I'm quarantined. Where do I want to be? And it was a pleasant surprise. And then everybody every music shows the thing Atta oh that part they never did? Who did? No? Atlanta was the Atlanta was loved shutting down in Atlanta. She was open without a mask. Well that's what it was profession about you now here it was like you know I had to get tested. Well, no, it was like it was just open to be Like on set, we were very very no on the in the in the filming part, we had to wear a mask, but like out in the streets when it was like you're done for the day, I just got to be free, and you know, it was dangerous, but we didn't get we know, I'll get COVID until we wrapped, which is a blessing. How did you research the area ful filming? Um? From my experience, like the office I had been to multiple times for I love the office. It's not Mike Cup of Tea because it's not like elegant enough, like you have a specific script strip club experience that you know we're talking about. Did they were smoking crack? I'm not in chat. Yeah it was. It was they were smoking dirties that day. Um, well, I didn't know that that happen anywhere in Miami. True well, I had been to the office multiple times and that was my experience, and then like just certain other parts of Miami, and so that's and I just always have a good time. Atlanta. The music scene is there's literally show called Atlanta that's set there. Houston, we already had a show that was like set in that world, in the Houston world, and I was just like, what's new for us? And so Miami just made the most sense and the way you showed Miami like the Haitian aspect of my homies, right, I called my little brother Win. His grandfather is one of the founders of Little Haiti. Yeah, he's here. He's here right now and it's dope to see. And his uncles in another in an Age Field documentary, the one about the journalists. You've seen that that documentaries on HBO now whatever, But so yeah, they're one of the films. To see Little Haiti, to see when to see Overtown, like to see these parts that are untapped in Miami, which is really the real Miami, not just South Beach. It's refreshing and I haven't seen more. I'm sure you're gonna show more for sure. And that comes from the consultants, like you know, I'm from l A. Our showrunners to read it's from l A. But we got writers like Kid Fury and he's not there, who's phenomenal, and another writer filmmaker named Edison Jean who's Haitian and from Miami and he's like actively here and he's out in the streets and he was really are one of our main consultants to make sure nobody could look at it and be like this ain't. This is not Miami. So that was pretty V. You got pretty V on it. So first of all, shout out to Pretty V. I didn't know she was from Miami. Show all the main saw our announcement, or she saw my announcement that my show got picked up in Miami, and he was like, look, if you don't want to show in Miami, you know pretty VS from Miami. I had been following her peripherally, but I didn't know and thought she was hilarious, but I didn't know she was from Miami. So he had gotten in my d M s and was just like, if you have a show like she should be in I Alma was like what. And so then it was hard to get in contact with her because she was doing while now she's popping, and he was very instrumental in making sure that she could be a part of the show and throughout, like without reps and stuff like that, because it was hard and I was like, well, I was about to give up, like she can't do it, and then he was great, but she's so freaking funny, but this is a different role for her and she killed it. And then Chamelion, how how did you let's cover prior to you even having her audition, I didn't know about her. That was that came to you. I didn't I didn't watch Loving Hippop Miami. I was a big fan of Loving hip Hop the original New York and then at Lance it was justly you're in the New York. I never saw that one. I'm sorry not to suspect. Thank you like your certain it's not like CONTROVERSI I don't watch it now. I make it a point even in the day, even on casting Chamelia, I have masting living him my Miami. I didn't know that it was. I don't know the Miami scene was all right. So now I'm blowing away because now I'm thinking you saw her and I would if I saw her on that, I probably would have been like, I don't want to cast her because I wanted people to just experience like a character if you lost in it, you know how you like, we'll watch something, So what's the what's the what's what? The other star? The Lord. She auditioned regularly, and we saw her audition to both the Vest and we're me and Serda and we're like, oh, she's great, But we were like trying to find who Shanna was. And then she interviewed to be a writer in the writer's room because she's a writer primarily, and uh, Serena hit me up, like, YO, remember that girl that we liked that audition? She she like interviewed to be a writer and I actually really like her. And I was like, well, wait, because that would be weird if we like her as an actress and she's in the writer's room, Like I don't want to overwhelm. Yeah, that part two, I was like, what if she's gonna be? And so I met her as a writer and I was like, oh, she's clearly fit to write this show. She just fits it. And then while she was in the writers and while we're writing, we're still looking for Shaunas, but we're still keeping her in the back of the mind. And then it came down to chemistry auditions and we had like, I want to say, four or five Shaunas, four or five ms, we like put them all together to audition and the two of them um, and then there were a phenomen and it was like, we gotta make this decision to hire this writer and basically and that was it. Yeah, that's that's as it was a dope process. It seems like a difficult process as well. It was people. It was so hard to eliminate people because some people are you know, uh she said it, so I can say it. But like if you're watching the security I remember Tasha, who was like Lawrence's love interest, the famous back shots heard around the world. We brought her into audition because what is his eyes? She's such an incredible actress. I strongly believe she could play of course anything, and we brought her into audition for both for me and Shanna, and she was great in both um but it came down to like authenticity and we still found a role for her. But like you know, that was heartbreaking for her. She came in, she killed that ship funny as fuck, and you know, I'm sure I thought, like they brought me in, I'm gonna get it, and it just that that just wasn't the case for that. But like when someone is so talented, you find a way to work with him, and that's when that's what happens when it comes to Dominique is incredible. Well, when you're bringing people, you know, does it would become personal? Yeah, I'm sure she was like, well, why did you bring me in if he wasn't gonna pick me um. But she's really gracious, so she never said that to my face. You haven't had to fire a friend, fire a friend. You know. I just fired my friend. Sunny was fired the one I just trick. But we'll hire him tomorrow. Okay, So there's like a boy. If I had that, I do like a friend friend. I don't think I've ever had to fire that, and I don't I don't wish that on anybody. That's hard have y'all like in real life. No, today, you're really gonna let him go today. We got to tell him about herself. You gotta tell him about herself. But y'all, y'all gave him the alcohol, gave himself the alcohol. Let's just be clear, give yourself. I don't even know how he got. He smuggled it in here. You have to stay you have to stay side. Was the cross fadedness like was he trains? No? No, he didn't eat him wrong. Show we came. We don't have hair maker with food that no one don't have. We usually don't have toilet paper. Just people don't do it home. You should. You should have seen the because we didn't know because we're like a guy's club, so we didn't know. You should have seen the first females who came to see us. They were like, y'all discussed takes we had, We got to just get it together, like you know, it was another place that we had. We had eight to nine. What is wrong with is gonna be good? You gonna realize we're not sitting down, so we're we're standing up, so we're not realizing how crazy it is. And then I think, I think the females came and then my wife came and said you gotta step it up, and that was just like yeah, And then that's when we started to notice yo yo. We started the toilet paper, we sort of order the regulars that we should have had light soul, you know, but you also down, but you awesome. You also got down in your own coffee shop at one point. At one point it was like they just made you call the names. Is this true? There was like didn't want you to make the coffee. They didn't want you to do but I love you, but I can't say yes, I'm part owner in a coffee shop. I thought it would be really great in promotion, like be a barista because I've always wanted to do that and they were open. Were barista at the coffee shop, just like at her confee shop. She owes it. So you did the think things. So I was supposed to do. They were supposed to train me to do that, but I was late for my shift for training over the ship for your own shop. Yes, I was like, they were going to train me to do the Barisa things right before. It was supposed to be like a ten fifteen minute training. I was ten fifteen minutes late. So that when I would just have you worked the register and the register is hard. Have you seen like it's a lot of buttons. No, it's not even like it's like I don't know everything if you don't do it. Was a lot of mechanics, and so it was a long line shout out to everybody who came out to you know, have me serve them, and I was holding up the line. So that's when they were like, you know what, you should just call the name and then you got fired because I was still there. There were two things. I think you did the register, and you did one more thing, and then it was just like we think you should just call the name. I didn't even get to the one more things. No, they didn't even let me make drinks that have a premade drink because they didn't train me. And that's like she's the owner. That's I'm never gonna blame the staff. They did a shot. They didn't strain me, but I was late, so if I had been on time, everything would have gone with And this is Inglewood, This Inglewood. There's three locations, but it was at the Inglewood location. Y'all should come through. Were y'all gonna come to l all the time to see supid Inglewood? Yeah? Your family, I mean my grandparents, they got relocated after the freeway. My family's in down here right now. And Inglewood that's that's like the building, the community. There's a lot going on there. But did y'all say y'all came to to interview? Yeah? What was that compoun Oh the sound count the audio broad compound he got death. Oh no, that's separate, yea yeah, but it's an Inglewood. It was an Inglewood has to be there is that's the audio? Yeah, okay, that's the same thing. Yea, yea, yea. Y'all want to see'all do house calls for these interviews because I go to Chris Brown's house, can't come to my house because we didn't get to your party with us there. Let's go to the party. We're talking about your president. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. We just don't have to talk on the mic. We just drink. I'm so mad at that. Let me ask you something, Um, are you enjoying it? I'm a good as time. You didn't even finish your sentence, but yeah, I'm good as stick because you know, you know why I've been. I've been in this game twenty two to twenty five years, right, and I've seen so many people hit the top and not enjoy it, not realize that they had the very very top. And it's not like you ever drop but this might be it, or it might be even more, but even why you're here, sometimes they don't even they don't enjoy it like that. It was an exception when I her her today saying that she wanted to keep going but she didn't recognize where she was at that I was like, all right, cool, So like to me, you at the top of the food chain. I respect it, I honor it, I love it. We we love it. Uhould see how we talk about you behind your back, which is so that's why we're talking about you like this in your face, because this is a milestone that we're proud of, and I'm asking you, are you enjoying it now? I'm definitely enjoying it because I have a break. I definitely don't think I'm at the top in anyway, but like, I enjoyed every step of the way. I'm appreciative, I'm grateful, you know. I'm like the where I was very close bye to me and you know, I'm just happy and I love just the people that I've been meeting along the way. It's fun, you know, like even can I be Debbie Down? Her? Yeah, you're married right, yeah, recently you plan on having children? Oh you are Debbie Down And it's good. It's good. I got two young children and I love it. But it just changes everything. I know. That's my mains right now, because that's like it feels like it's all or nothing situations about that. So I don't know, I don't know, but usual when people like could I be Debbie Down and they're like, so, you know, it's like the career part because it's not a downer. Yeah, because having children is an amazing thing. You're lying, No, I'm not. Cardi me balanced it very well. Now, I promise you had like three children on us. Everybody does it differently. Even when Cardi b was pregnant, people are like, all the bitch don't ruin her career, and it's not true. That's like high I think about it. But look at Nick Nick out here pregnant and everybody Nick as a man. Men are different, So I will never take everybody they have children like you guys are active fathers. It's not the same because you're not like you can still how what's old for Oh yeah, for sure, but it's different, like it's not gonna stop you because you're like, I don't have to stay home in breastfeed. I don't have to stay home and do that. But I got to be home with her with my kids, got them. That's that's still an active choice. But you have a choice. I feel like women don't have the choice in that way. But I think the more obviously money you have, then there's an opportunity to make it work. But it's still it's still changes in your life. You want to be right now, but I'm still thinking about it. I gave a deadline to myself figured out and obviously a matter is like you know what my my partner slash husband things, So I don't know, it's the whole thing. He's a legend, wherever he is, wherever he asked, whoever he is. We ain't going with bills even if we knew, because we don't know. But if we know, we ain't gonna show hello. You know what I mean, because damn your privacy taking stat Yes, you make me when I damns his name again with y'all, with you, you know, I yeah, man, I'm so proud. I'm so proud I was. I'm so happy that you stopped. I'm happy to have that had me for you know, I met you once. It was on the weekend. What you dissed me and picked me up at the same time. What I'm about to say the hotel, but I won't. I won't say the hotel. Tell me that right now. Remember this in South Beach. But I don't want to say the hotel to because I still go to the hotel too. Move my son, damn okay, okay, y, I'm with my son. This is like I think it's the third season you're on fire. Oh my god, you're on fire. I'm a downstairs see you at the hotel, I say, I say to my son, because I don't want to be the groupie, so I blame it on my son. I'm like you, Noah, you're a fan secure like homegirl right there, because he seemed to us watching the shows, He's like, oh all right, there was like cool, my son gets down on the program. Immediately he knows his he knows that he knows the excitement. We walked over to you. I was like, he's not my fan because I have a picture. You said, yeah, of course. But last time I seen she was fat. You couldn't need to make up your mind, said, let me tell you. This is the reason why she didn't like like she was on Insecure. She was like, you need to get He was like, you need to make up your mind. Last time you was he was just mad in shape And I was constance, you actually up agree by the way, we'd be pulled that picture right now. I'm holy ship, yo, But that's what I knew. Like, I was like, yo, she is the character, but not the character. But it is the character that's fair, And I think that's what makes it easy for you to write these real life experiences, these first sure that I feel like I have not changed in that way, like I've gotten a little bit better abouhinding it. But I just, you know, I say the wrong things sometimes, but I feel like I forst sure it biggs you with you. Do you think you still awkward? Yeah? Okay? What is awkward? What's the definition of awkward to you? When you are just inept in social situations where you will just say that wrong thing or just feel uncomfortable, Like I feel like sometimes I'm just never fully comfortable in my own skin. Like I'm a confident person, but like I'm just worried that I'm going to make the situation turned weird. You're confident, but you're not confident that they're confident in your confidence. Oh yeah, thank you, thank you for that. That's it. That's pretty much. And I think as the ower person, you're like always thinking about how people are viewing it and then yes, and then thinking about that you overthinking, You're like they think that I'm working, they're thinking I'm working that right, think this word necessarily because the thing like that, there's no way you're awkward. I don't think no one who's ever had a fight and said I'm just gonna win this fight. It's everyone how many people are about but it's something most people. We all get the butterflies. Like I've performed for twenty years and I still before I get on that sting. That's like people still, that's awkward. That's not awkward, that's like nerves. Have you ever gone into a conversation like like, for have you ever hesitated? This is a sening. You go to a party, you don't know nobody is there any party, just like, oh, they're gonna be looking at me like I don't know nobody, second guess in the moment second guessing. But then do you still just go up to a group of people and start talking like will you ever go to a party by yourself? People will go to party by parties by themselves, don't have an awkwad bone in their body or they are awkward as because they're like, yeah, that's great. I can't even that's you know, if you can't even imagine anything, you're not No, yeah, I'm more quick. No alcohol helps me. It's like under underrated in that way. It's not like the solution and at one point I felt like I had low subpustate when what point get into who I am pre pre like and then when you got there, you were like, oh, I'm man. Still it still existing me though, it's still a part of me, and I have to talk to myself and because I'm a number one fan, like I'll be gashing myself off, like you know in the mirror Roman, Like, yo, I'm not having like I do that every day. I don't even need a mirror though? Is there anybody that can get you down? Like? Is there anybody in your life right now? Especially age? I feel like the older you get, you're just like I'm not phased, but is there anything where you're like self conscious? Is there anybody where you're like, oh, they got to me this particular? Like for me, teenagers are scary if I walk past teenagers kids, well my teenagers, just because I remember what it was like to be a teenagers and teenagers have a wave seen through you. Am I reading you in a disrating you And I'm like, if I see teenagers, I'll walk across the street because they just get off like clowning the kids like my daughter four years old. But that's like pure. No, what the you've got no hair? I said, my because that's what my grandfather told me. Okay, it's not my fault. You said that mice each that's my grandfather told me that it's fire about his he's like mice eaters there at night and he feeds mice and that's nasty. But I thought, wow, he's helping these mice. So helping these mice by feeding that. So I told myself the same thing. That's amazing. It's not amazing that I would have never had nothing better to tell my daughter. But yeah, like they'd be saying, man, get embarrassed, like super easy. That that's the worst fear. You don't have, like an insecurity embarrassed. Everybody everyone has naming it. Yeah, I told you my fear. What's y'all? What was your favor? Good teenagers? Teenagers? Okay, I just told you kids, little kids, they're gonna say some ship. I guess I'm just not accepting that because kids just talk shit, and you know that it's not they're looking at you at face value. They're gonna say ship, And you were like, but it's not delicious, no, but it's face that's the proms it's not delicious. It's purely like. It's like belly, you got this weird thing on your face right there? The fuck? Yeah, that's fair, I know my fairst. People want skateboards with dirty nails. Oh, come on, that's ridiculous. Man. First of all, have you identified that person? Yeah, that's fair. You can't see dirty mails nails from all the way when they skateboarding. Okay, what do you what is are you going to judge? How do you see that? The judge free zone? We didn't know judgment zone. I just with but yeah, I don't like I don't like skateboards with dirty nails. I'm just skateboards. But they don't scare you. Okay, Oh we said we scared things that scare you. This something? Oh that's very easy. Birds pigeons, because birds is a ship out of We're seen the geese cross the street like this what you want when to fly? Why are they crossing the street? Is it geese? Is a bunch of them? Or goose is one of them? I like, I like, let's figure they should He'll give you back your geese. Let's make it even trade because I'd rather pigeons and geese pigeons because they got they took some of our pigeons. The geese. You ain't ever heard of this. They're just flying north and then they fly south for something. That's birds in general. Yeah, what I'm saying theirs so some of our birds go to Canada and get long. It's not something. It's all. This is scientific ship. I'm breaking down for y'all. You know what I'm saying to Google. This is all It's like my misinformation. We are information information notation. It's called drunk information from drunk by the way, So what's next? What's next? I want to create a movie. Like I said, I've only made two television shows like this. I saw this respected all around. Its real. Yeah, let me take a shot for that's shop that. Okay, okay, alright, that's what I'm crazy like that. After that, Okay, what's next? I really want to build a studio and something like I want to see studio like what Tyler Perry has done. Oh you want to Tyler Perry. Yeah, But in fairness to me, I was thinking about it before, but then seeing him executed on a different level, it was just like wow, no, I was I had something to do. Unfortunately, I had an obligation. I wanted to go so badly and I don't like stopped the premiere of the pictures all that, and I'm just so proud of it was black excellence and he did that. And like the fact that he has a studio where like Marvel and all the biggest companies in the world have to like license or like rent. His ship is incredible and it's like beautiful. When I was shooting a movie called A Little out There like in Atlanta, he had just opening like a little girl. Yeah, when ma st Martin, who was a legend like he came to set invited this multiple and that so prevents to me. Like when I was out there, I was shooting that and I was like, I would love to go, but he's just he's the real, genuine person and I respected. But to build that same studio on South LA. We don't have that much of lands, but I still want the space. You know, l A is l A like that is, though you can do it outside of it soft like I like Insecure. Our last season we shot it in like the Cooinment, which it's like forty five minutes away from l A. And I just want I want South l A on the map because so many people shoot there and I just want to place and people film because when you say it's South LA and so many people will shoot, it's a different type of the shooting. And we think about it's a different it's on location as opposed to like on a stage, and I want to build stages and you know that takes multiple locations for your part. So that's what we're working on actively. But that's what's next for me, is just figuring that out. And then it's just you know, the economics. But you got this, thank you, thank you? And then it's I mean I don't even tell you. I'm just saying no, we just know you got to thank you. We all know you got this. We are proud of sh is you. Thank you. So that's that's that's the next step. That the next step, and then of course that full flesh feature movie. I do like I want to make our mark on the film industry, like the way that Jordan people was able to like shake the game up. We get out. I want to figure out like what our market is. That's all right on on the film what what what? What is your ideal movie? Your first feature? I just love I love thrillers. I'm not like on the horror side like he is in that way, but I love things that just make you tense. Like give me an example of a thriller. I mean, I just I talked about this, but I just rewatched Have I seen the Time to Mr Ripley That I just looked at it on Netflix. It's popped up, and I said, nope with Matt Damon, and I went to something else that we make a movie that you don't want to skip over here because I mean I looked at Matt Damon, I looked at the title. I said, not for me, and I went to something else. I'm sorry. I love any for thriller that makes you tense. That's one example, but there's like even that's an example. You were you were on the edge of your seating that and it's a simple concept, but I just love that, especially when black people are involved, you know, like as people to call it, we we react to things differently. And there's just like love Birds almost a thriller kind of but it was more comediate driller, driller, drill, driller, comedy, what's the what's the pronunciation? Thriller? Du driller, driller, duck drill driller, You got to put that in a verse or something. Yeah, you know, I work it out for you. But that's like ideal, you know. And I just want to make things that people have conversations about. Like I said, like I love what conversations I love the same? Does that make us talk as as people that get us excited? And so that's the kind of things that I want to make in that that doesn't have to be a thriller, that can just be genre. But I'm figuring it out like you've ever driven, like you know, and maybe this is a debut it down there like you know, all the all the things that's going on with all people, and you know, we make it. You're making cinema. You're making for people to enjoy theirselves. But we're constantly faced with the George Floyd's your constantly face is this Is it ever like a pressure pressure to put that in there? Or because on one hand, if you put it in there, kind of making people, but if you don't put it as as a black person, sometimes they judge you. Is that something you go through all? Not all? Because it's like literally existing in real life and black people know what it is. We know what it is, so like for me, it's just like, whenever I see that, I'm like, are you making this so white people pay attention? In which you know, I understand to some extent where it's just like, oh, if you put it in entertainment, maybe the people who have the power will understand and humanize us. But for me, it's just like, I really think about my friends when I'm making stuff. I think about my family when I'm making stuff. So it's never like I want, you know, white people to see us and you know there, it's just it's real already, So I don't want to make movies about it, Like I don't want to make entertainment about it and make money off that when it's just a very real thing that nobody's doing anything about. So that doesn't really appeal to me. For me, I just like to make sure that makes me laugh, makes me feel things that's like right now in this particular era of fun like and that just resonates with me. But I never feel an obligation to do certain things unless it's an obligation personally where I'm like, damn, I'm missing this on TV, Like on a very superficial level, I miss the rodic thrillers like I'm mad. I love the indecent proposals of the world, the basic instincts, all those things, like there's a genre and that hasn't really fully existed in an elite waysides. I see this right now, I see this right now when she's coming from a little bit. But like I just I don't know. I just like that for us, man, that's crazy. We know what we need to bring back. What did jeffersons? Listen? We need a twenty job because of friends? Because did you just did he? Did you? Were you just appeal to the man relaxed. We knew we child before that, but not really. But I'm a d for Miami and it was this. No, I'm not saying that's so good. Start my confidence. I understand that, Jeff like more on Porseco. No, I'm twisted, twisted, There's no way you're good. Just one more. This is cut my perfect shout. This is the champagne. No, no, you're gonna put it in your elegant glass. Told us that do they pay off? Very cool? We're very cool, so they just give it to you all for free. We know we're very cool. We're very cool. But I don't know them to do like brand sponsorships. So they very cool. You were very cool, and that's what you know. What if you're gonna drink champagne, drink black champagne, the best champagn I'm not mad at that at all. Did they start we're moving for everybody black. Remember that we're moving for everybody black. Look at that? Goddamn it. Yeah, that's true. Everybody right by head? Look at that. Huh do you say say it's also owned by the homie. It's just oh, yes, you don't have to have the same as space, Like it's all under one umbrella, but it's all on the one guy. It's the under one umbrella. That umbrellas over there, then the umbrellas over there. So they say it's a specific guy, but he's not a company and jay Z invest the same guy we support. That's why we suppoke Japanese. Y'all came up with the show. Did they approach you or did you say, hey, we got this show. It's called team playing. We was in the locker room together, so did he. Jay Z was all like, we'll give you money. We don't even care about the competition. No money and then the Japanese they hollert and they said, do you know they both threatened me the same the same language. You want me to tell you to the threat um? Jay Z said, do you know Mr? Because I said on on the show. One day, I was like, I'm never drinking my wet again because I don't know miss them wet. So then the show kept getting successful with successful successful sus I don't know why. He just took in my bottom. Okay, she got weird, see I'm saying okay. So and then one day it happened and Jay hit me and was like a spade ran out. This is during the pandemic. It's spade ran out. There's no more used space. So we're just being fast and getting some more way. Boy, I thought this man would never see this show. Boy that he sent me a clip and said, I thought you said you didn't know Mr Them wet, And I was like, I'm sorry, Like you know, I don't argue with jay Z. Just being honest with y'all, I just say, I just say, I just even when I'm right, I'm sorry. Just move on. How don't you fix this? And it's been fixed? So when y'all said that I was in. No like obviously, there's no drink sponsorships at all. No, yeah, yeah, no drinks positive at all. If we started out it was it was two bottles. What what were the bottles? It might have been surround. No, we sponsored ourselves with bottles. But y'all actively chose to Rock to absolutely and Rock chose us. And then later we had we had relationships with when you first first started, you had relationships with Rock already. Not well there, it's a complicated story. I used to work for for bad Boy doing the promotions in Miami. I've worked the rock. He didn't. I couldn't even give it away to him. Oh yeah, I got this camera can tell you stuff. You know what story, it's a true story. I couldn't. It was nobody wanted it, nobody in the world, in the country, in the world, and we our job was to give it to radio stations and give it away. We couldn't give it away. But anyways, long story short, um I had a documentary series that that when revoltd TV launched, which is a Puffy property. Of course they I since my documentary was my first film I ever did in any kind of film, and they licensed it, and then he had a relationship with Puffy as well, and so when Drink Champs took off, we had relationships and we parlated into the Revolt system and Revolt Puffy, so rock it was a natural thing to bring in. So we didn't. By the way, I think this is for us by us. Y'all got the y'all got y'all, I know you'll have the weed. Oh no, you want we have had you? When did you? Because I'm not ready yet. Whenever it's ready to just bring it, we're sending to us. And we put on the tail. We had fake Drake, fake Draco bring it to us. You know what I keep thinking about persecond? You know what EXeCO is. Per second? You know it's that seat right after first class shut second first you can smell it. It's all right there walking down. You had you have like Lamarca. Have you had prosecco in your life recently? I've been traveling for twenty five years, so I went to Champagne France, and I realized that if it's not from Champagne France, but what about Prosecto Italy? Like yeah, that's the thing. It's all about the name. It cons that's all the same. I want to turn you into a converter. So I would like you're coming back with yes, that that's what we're doing. Okay, bad I don't want you to like actively come my persect. I wish you tasted okay here, but this is your this is yours, and you made it. You side that you tasted it like that you show Yeah, just give me jump. That's not on it though right now I'm not launching it. It's not on it. Okay, but yes, okay, eventually you will have in the future. Yes, you're actively doing this. It's already yet. It's already what they got they got they got um oh no, see um? What is it? Like fat boy Rose then they got or like instead of skinny girl, it's a fat boy girl. You read that book skinny Girl? Why, like used to with the skinny girl that Well, there's like skinny Girl Margaritio, skinny Girl wines. So I'm assuming fat boy came after that or no, fat boy something I don't even know. It was the Beverly Hills Housewife. Yes, but like y'all having your own tequila whatever liquor, what's the what's the drink of it's obviously why I have like GUACAMOLEI coming out. He went straight to the way. I just I might as well pitched, I might as well keep it going for it. Yeah, holy nor guacamole coming out. Yes, I got my own beer here co side of my kids. It doesn't matter. No, no, no, she tasted. No she didn't taste that. You have to walk Molley right, listen, let me just play you something. I'm gonna be honest. Money up the first batch that I got. What's horrible. I'm not gonna lie to you. I told everybody this is my blockam. People was like, he was like, this is people, this is just say you know it was It wasn't good. People was like, who brung the potato salad with the raisins? Raising That's that's an old black ship. You bring some potato salad with raisins, you gotta kick them in the fuck out because potato salad and raisins do not go together. So when the person said that, and they know it was myla, I gotta get this together. So no, I did not why I why what they just said? This ship is horrible. I wasn't fun. So I went back. I said I don't know if you'll know me black and I'm Puerto Rican. Yeah I need flavors. Yeah, I need one soult. Wait, technically is not to be ignorant? Is is glackamonly press Mexican? It's Mexican. Okay, So you have tomato? No, I don't know you had so raisins in it. So the second batch did the same exact then it same exact people. These are the people who make all the French fries for mc donald's. I promise you it's coming up. I can't believe they're doing this business with me and then probably help CoA side, but I can't believe they're doing business for me to a second batche, I do it out on my next barbecue. And they told it, did you take it first of all? To begin with both batches? And he still with no, I did not go on. No, I did not go out it. No, No, I couldn't do it. No, the second one. But you're saying like it's good, it's amazing, you know, it is it is, it is, it is, it is. It is finally so now ready to so when is it going to be out? Like out there? Well, we were getting the packaging together right now. Find he got the avocados. We finally got everything together. Actually, I didn't know that this is like mafia ship? Are you gonna incorporate it into that? You know what avocado is mafia? Avocado's mafia. This is like as well, stay in wraps, but it's more safer, you know. Like's like she's really like because that's like like I don't know. No, I did not taste it, and I looked walking MOI. He doesn't leave his house. He just he's just he's he's a super I'm a father of two little kids, and this guy says, I don't leave my mouse. He just act. I'm just being a father. She's just fifteen of the father to come out like great story. You don't respect it. But holy I got one more shot left in me. Let's go. Have you got one more? You have one more? Just for rap shit? You could do it trying to take off Neace. I am mad at him. Ye'll wanna take off that flat. I want keep putting on shows. I want to watch over it. Listen, did you watch um What's the Ship? On HBO? Mass about the the world? Off the four seasons? Wait? What the four seasons? Hotel in Hawaii where they just everyone's just killing everybody and sucking everybody. You ain't see this ship white was it look google to this, But that's not it. That's not where everybody's killing and sucking everybody. First of all, it's like, yeah, but everybody's killing each other. You had me, but I love that show, So what are they doing? If they're not killing each other, what are they doing? It's about like killing just my service at the end of the day, ye about appropriation and customer service and the couple of people die one literally one person. I honestly want you to like review movies and tv us, but they would just be wrong. Yo, he needs you need to do that. By the way, they run away MTV had a job for me like ten years ago. But it's just like, you know, we just wanted to describe the funk out of the movie Fuck It Up, describe. They wanted me to stay in what you don't funk with, Like I like the idea of what you suk with, but like if you don't sunk with something, then I know that I need to stay away. Okay, I'll tell you I don't. I'll tell you what I do funk with one more time. Have you ever seen Space Force? No? Yeah, I have seen that Actlix show. Yeah. I don't like it. I don't like thank You, I like you, doesn't like it, And I don't have my man name from forty Salute Salute? Yeah. And what's your favorite show besides your show? Obviously, and besides the dating show? What's your show that the show that like set me off? This year's Severance. I will talk about that ship all day. Severance on Apple Apple TV Plus is phenomenal. It is the best season one finale that I've seen. If you want to bring you some ship, you got it. It's like a mix between a comedy sci fi but like real Ship and Severance. Yes, it's a sci fi joint, but it's like sci fi grounded. It's like sci fi ten years from now. You know. It's good as fun. I love that show. That's the last show where I was like, damn, that ship was good as fucking I've been telling everybody, but and they got nominated like for hell to Um ship this year. But it's good. What about your Should we talk about you? Working on Patty? Patty made an appearance on our first season of Black Lady Sketch Show. They had an amazing sketch idea. I remember the first time we went to go to their writer's room. One of the first sketches they pictured us was like a sketch feature in Patty Labell and it had me dying like fan and then I was like, but we gotta say get Patty to say yes, and that guy her to say yes, and you know she she killed it, and then yeah, and then seeing her in essence. Essence is so tricky, Like this year was a little bit weird because it was like the first time that everybody's back, yeah, post pandemic and the concerts there's a lot of legal ship going on, not to be messy, so it's just like hard to be there. But Patty coming out during one of the concerts just changed the game. You just are immediately reminded like she's a legend. She outsings anybody, like anybody, and just reminds you why she is a legend, why she's a diva, why she is, why she's an icon. And then she's just a lovely person that like feels like she could be in your family even though she's done. I heard you on the flight back from Essence Road method man ghost Face first of all met the man. Well, it's crazy when I saw I immediately because I said it in front of you. She said, I got this information about I have nowhere knowing that, but yes, I would beat you up. Like it was not the man. It was ghost Face who came after and the like with me back from Essence to I was going somewhere else. It was on my way to like Jersey through Italy. And when I tell you this is like a fantasy fulfilled. I was putting my luggage up in the overhead then and like it was a struggle. I'm not gonna lie putting it up and helps you know, not yet. So then this man we all have masks on the plane because COVID is flaring back up again. So I put my thing up and I was very rough rid it, and I got to sit down, and this man in front of me irritates me by being like, you know, you almost put somebody's head out putting that luggage up, And I was like, oh did I? Yeah? And I was like oh did I? And then he put his mask down like you know who I am? And I was like, man, what no, I didn't got into the media mode, and you know, he was just super sweet. And then when I got off the plane, and then he was like, yeah, my wife looks with your hair products because you have like a hairline cost in the natural. And that was like immediately, like man, this man is showing love. And then when I got off the plane, one of the plane landed, he got my luggage down automatically. Don't want to get hit either. Do you want to get hit either? I would like to think he was a gentleman. And he was like, yeah, you and Harry Belafonte those only ones, Like I legged down and I was like, that's amazing company, Like he helped her, and Harry man said the only two people he helped with his luggage is you and because you don't have to help anybody. He had that off even what he was doing that all there, Like I was, I was honored. It was crazy. It's literally the night before I was watching videos and him because he performed the essence too, and I told him awkwardly, I was like, yeah, I was watching your workout videos all that because I'm in like super into my fitness. He posts like videos, so to see him on the plane the next day, it was like really nice. He was just wonderful person. I respect him. Goddamnit is there anybody that's a fan of you that you did not expect to be a fan? Um? I would go back, like Regina King was like one of the first major people when I was doing seven Black because I'll be getting was also amazing, both of them, honestly, but I don't not to confuse them further, but Regina King, Yes, why is that the latest? Seven? Yeah? It's the latest my friends, Like Regina seven, was you treat Uh? What's that ship? The Leftovers? What? What's the ship with the with the black um cowboys ship? Oh? Yeah? Come on? Why you didn't say Regina King thought top two to seven? Okay, he just his top preferences. Listen, listen THEO. He could do a lot of roles. You mean Malcolm Jawanna Warner, he's gonna be for the rest of his real credit. Wo Okay. You know you look at the sy Malcolm, you'd be like, come on in your mind, but you can do that because you're you. When you see Wesley Snipes, I says, yeah, you don't think you know. Nobody says that, No, no, nobody says that even now go up to west you see Chris Sucker, you don't see no, No, he has so many more smokey y'all, y'all brown, even with all he's done. I called Westley Snipe, need no brown. If he didn't need no brown, now he's done so much. That's that's how saying what what what? What? I like, Yeah, that's why. But it is it is some some people kill a role so much that that then for the rest of their life. No, but that's not true. It's was he s knips. Yeah, I've been playing around. Obviously, there's some people who have a role with It's that's fair. Yeah, it's just like, let's let's name is somebody with a role that you the role that just I don't know them from that. I will only know Stacy dash as Dion from Clulos. You're phenomenon, that's like resident. Yeah, he's sports card what else? You know who? But but connection, let's be clear, let's be clear. And she's from Queens who she's from Queens? But come on, when I see Pam oh yeah, pass Pam talking about Pam Grier though, Martin, I'm just saying she and but that's but Pam is Pam you agree on that? Yes? But I respect to shea Arnold, I love you. I think you're multifaceted. Yes, and Carton that's you know, And what are we not keeping it real? Heads? We are now Selena from mark jlos Lena is the best world that she's up right now with Josie. No, we don't look at how like what's what's what's to do with the tall dude from Mark Man passed? Yeah, listen. He moved to Miami and when we was young, jets going, I was pressing up mixtapes, used to come to Kinko's. Hey, what does it just means? Just kids kids in Miami? Yeah? And I was like, she was like stupid ass j And I was like, J means I love you? Yeah, I didn't know what I mean. I did watch it on Tommy because he moved down by where we lived, me and my friends, and he used to come to the Kinkos where I used to make my mix tape covers. And he's trying to school us on the industry like he would like he was like trying to mentor us in a good way or in a way where I was like why you don't know? Okay, totally positive way, Like I don't even know why he was the King. I don't even know. We didn't, he didn't belong and I don't know what the funk like y'all used to actually listen. No, we did listen to. What made y'all listen because he was from Martin was a show that was and it was and I didn't even know. I was like, fun, Tommy's here? Whether is he here in our little town and we're in South Miami, like where the fund is Tommy here? And that's crazy? How just like global that was were like, he's not a side character, but the side character was still the ship, Yes, absolutely and universally known even doesn't happen character man, Yeah that was still Yeah, Yeah, that's crazy. I mean Hustleman, the actor. I don't know him by name. Oh that's a guy you don't know about here his bodyguard. That's what's crazy. I believe. I believe that's most party guard in real life. Yeah. Yeah, And they ain't have nobody to play the role and they just had him come down he said, broke one from the fifth floor and put them fall And they said this Nigga is legends and they hired him. That's why I don't have no food here. Yeah, we don't do that. Sorry, well the wa out there, yeah he has to. The'll be just walking a no, no, just walking. But you know what, you love it. We're not used to having girls here. We're not used to having queens here. We're going to food because because you know why, we have to invite our beautiful by my wife and my wife's friends. Because to make y'all feel more comfortable. First of all, don't that's not the excuse. You should just want us here because because my wife feel comfortable. No, no, we just want to make more comfortable because this woman power men. I'm down with the woman empowerment woman. Woman. Woman need empower me and we all empowerment the woman. I think woman because I'm a feminist. I'm a feminist. You know what I'm gonna time. I'm sorry, I'm sorry because of any reason, but it's hilarious special, he said. A feminist is anybody who believes that the woman's rights should be respected. That makes me a feminist. A feminist, and I want to put my blacks. We're gonna take a shot for the feminist in this world right now? Okay, let me ask you something because this do you play spades? I'm playing a long time, but I played and I'm excellent. Oh I guess skeptical. No, I'm not skepticism with you. This is what I need to know. Where does space come from? I don't you gotta tell me? Because definitely from jail. Why are you asking legendary game? Y'all play space? You play space? Well, I definitely from jail, just because the rules changed so much so space, yes, but let me tell Let me tell you something about space. People judge your blackness by how you play. People be like, you play space, and you'd be like, no name, Yeah, yep, Loki Dominos too, Yes, I'm a Domino player. But they judge you by not knowing bag. Yeah, I've seen that, um are We're gonna put space in one of these series because I've never seen like, I think that should be an Olympic sport to space and moments dominant because there's an athlete power because you never said I do. But I've never been in the game that I've never really played spades with like men men, like I've always had a female partner or like a male. It's another woman. It's always like, you know, it's respectful. But when I just see men play space, ya, That's what my wife knew. I was way too competitive. She was on the opposite team with me, and she got it. Did y'all we play? I don't know what happened. She was like a girl came home, girl came over the house. She wanted if you do girl? I was like, really, okay, you know we feminist, but you know my team. And but the other day trick Daddy. We went Daddy and they played the cheating the space I some Miami ship. That's he changed the rules on me three times in the same hand. No learned. I needed to learn. And then when I called on what did I do? Ros I ran, I want to ask, oh, I killed them two hands, and you know what I did? You know what I did that to that? What? Like the rational person that I am? I quit. It was so dumb found that they was looking like, because you know I'm in New Yorker. I talked man ship once I went like like if I'm losing him quiet, I ran it up the first hand, the third of the first two hands, they cheated. Just be clear, don't say yeah they cheated, they don't change the rules on me. And I said, okay, I know how to change the rules too, And then I ran it up. Who was his partner somebody knew or just my partner was his partner? They was all they were normal because I had to. I'm in there barbecue. I can't be like you, you know, so I got just next like cool, this is his hype man. My partner is his hype man. I feel like they're texting each other like this is what he got. So I'm like, all right, my partner not even on my team. I'm running it up on him too, you know, I'm just smoking on the fact that his diamonds. You had a legendary space game with like legendary icons and music, like that's the that's the we're gonna play space, partner. There's no like space for the yacht like it's strictly dancing, drinking, smoking. No, there's no space table. First of all, it's like the ocean. We could do that, though we could play. I don't want anybody sitting down like like what you're gonna drink? Yeah, exactly, cheers drink you maybe perform y'are the best y'all party that we ever had, especially to l a like September tenth weekend. Then it's done. My birthday, says number six. So then we'll have I can wait. I can wait if you're if you want to have an impromptu performance, which is what I was getting at. Like Miguel came to one saying, a doorn Okay, you're gonna have to say what what what? What? You? I love it. So if you are in town that weekend, come through. First of all, I have to get a boat first. I'm all talking this ship, but like the boat has to be available. But but you said, yeah, yeah, he's just a boat. But I'm like, now I'm like self conscious, and you're really gonna come, Like I have to like step the yacht at because you know we'd be living my we should be writing from my house like this. He kept his sharp. You live on Star Island. No, he lives on other Star Island, the other one that's like he doesn't place. I live on normal. I live in Kendall. No, it's totally normal. Well, if you'll have a party out here and you have yachts, you how long you've been out here filming this we were here six months, and let's do a Miami thing out here for the series, like Incorporated. If I had known that, like, I would hate. But now we're just getting acquainted second seconds. I should have camera. I swear to god if we have a second season and y'all don't, we are here. We are part of this community, so please include us. But I don't want to beat Normy. You got this, Yeah, I don't want to be Nor. I want to be like like nobody. That's the only thing with this show because you wanted that's because because you know why, you're also what you have not realized you're also my Asian. I don't know if you're okay, okay, so whatever, because they're gonna see this same like your Nor. It's a great act I'm like, you listen to until the Easter. That's it. That's it. I want to break it down. Like with Insecure, I was hyped to get musicians play other people. But because raph it is sent in the music world, your music, like you have to play yourself and then just whatever being like a little or whatever it is. But like and now I want actors to play musicians. So if I do another show and you want to get your acts on. Yeah, yeah, that's a difference. I want to be what's she trying to play? I don't know, you don't even know. I just you should be like a magician's just water, but Nori, I like that trying to wrap. I like that. Yeah, you'd be like, I'm not a mogul. I kind of like. I think that's nice, but it's still playing. Like I want to see you play something different outside yourself, not a doctor. I don't think I could pull it off someone. I swear to God. I swear to God. When I was doing my role role, someone actually asked me to do a doctor. I was like, I can't get that ship. I just never win. I never win black Man. Please. Yeah no, I've never met a doctor with like a hardcore in New York. That's crazy. So you say, I see the win, Yeah, absolutely should, Like you could doctor. What's your diagnosis? If you like, if you tell somebody they got kiss or how are you going to stop me? Like in your role you hold on, hold hold on, I'm gonna yes real quick. Can I set the scene? I have cancer? Yeah, I'm the director director. My character has cancer. My mom is here. She thinks that it's the tumor is benign and we think we're out of here. We're fine, So how are you going to deliver the news? Also, I have like twenty four hours to live, okay see Paul's pause bus ready a hey doc? All right? Actually as we had stop stop set? Yeah, alright, what's your name? You're my friend? Right? All right? Stop you I'm a doctor. Oh yeah, you're the doctor the home. Everybody, everybody set a hey, do stop man, director of men, here's your director skills man guns out? Everybody set? Do I know your name? Or you just my pace? Susie que set for sne Hey doc, I'm my mom. Here dot you spoken? He's an acturalist? Real? What's rare? My talent? Which is real? With me? Oh? Real? Just covering some ship. It's gonna make us both. I'm not happy. Was are you rustling? You are not her friends getting together? You're the doctor. You are the doctor. That's why, that's why they show up the doctor. See who sees the patient? Are you all ready? Are you already? Huh no, No, you're not ready. Get a shot like you coaches like point is not please? All right, well, get your ship together and get your ship together. Cool, that's what the point is. I got what's your name? Good, let's go. You have to acknownedge. My mom's right cool, her mom is right there, right there. Cool. Ready wait, ready, action, Susie. I've just seen the diagnosis. It's not I could give it to you like you know, the other way, or I'll give it to you the real way or the nonchalant way doctor, like we came to me. My mom came through like with all was good. So I just want you to give it to me real. I feel like we should take a shot first. I know I'm not gonna keep this through doc. This is let this sounds drink as a pilosh. This is the doctor's office. Is none of our business. I feel like I'm eighteen. You still take a shote to none of the pain. Moms too, Come on, we got the Japanese dall mom, you know you know what it is. Okay, you can get your shot. All right, it's a good news. Yeah, we're gonna party two night nine. It's two thousand twenty. That was terrible. Everybody, have more, have more. There's no way you're delivering medical news. We knew. We knew me as a doctor was not the word. Man, you have to be a doctor. Now, let's do another scene. Let's do a scene where you're the doctor and I'm the homies that got shot friend. Oh, let's do it. Let's do what mean you got shot? Friend? No? No, no, no no, I'm not a director. Still no, you're not there. You didn't like you as a director. So you are the doctor. I'm holding him down. He just got shot. Niggers hit him up at the ice cream shot. They didn't like, I'm your friend. I'm holding you that, but I got I just got you. Gotta talk to me because I'm holding him down. He's all he's like, he got you know the noise hat like that? Cool? Cool doctor. All right now I'm gonna be sad. Now I've got this part, this part guy. So who's the who's the director? No director, he's no director. No girl. Hi, Mr Diego Diego. I like that. Thank you doctor. You have some having with moa Chico. Where were you guys? First of all, can I get some information? He's um, he was at flaning against. He's at flanning against. He just left show girls. He was he was at the strip club with all the girls. Got bullet holes and them, and then he went to No, this is planning against again. But he went to he went to show Girls. He went to show Girls and the show girls you know, you know they got one leg strippers, you know that type of ship. You know. Yeah, I understand. He had cheese. He said, he's blacked us in tower. Yeah, well I have some badness. Does he speak Spanish? Hends? Does he know the word morta? Because he's gonna die? Is that with the morphine is sucking him up? You know, we didn't actually put morphine in there. We just put some cornac and he should be fine, he shouldun back. But what's your relationship? Did you shoot him? Murria'll just friends? Okay? I was, I was there. What was your affiliation? Um? They got there some weird Mesican. You know this is Mesican, and like I'm Puerto Rican and black, So I really don't got nothing do with that ship. But after it happened, I was like, you know what, that's the homie. Let me put him in my hondai, you know what I'm saying. And then I brought him to the y'all. Then we wudn't stopping get some weights. I was hugly. You don't at the time, like you know, like dot, I needed some lemon pepper, So I got a couple of lemon pepper and then um, I dropped the home off. But when did he get pizza at that point? Because he said he had pizza? You're looking real suspicious pizza. Um, that was left over in my car. Some some pizza some car pizzas. Yeah, no, he ate the carpiece. He ate ruck pizza. By the way, it's rugg pizza. It wasn't. It was carpi pizza. Because you know, like I think he got shot. We just gave him a little bit of ecstasy to like numb the pain. And that's the reason why I like. He's a little crazy. So you know him, I love him. That's why I'm here, Docum I think so no, my okay, I think we need a director. I don't see. I think we're certainly without a director struggling. So it's insane. And I killed that. I killed that, listen, and you were determined not to die that the commitment there was phenomenon. I watch listen, I will watch this. Okay, okay, but how many of your friends like actually tried to like that like we're playing around but not really, but because it just like, yeah, you made it was like no, I got that ship a few and some of them, to their credit, do and some of them, like when when I'm believing someone, I would try my hardest to make sure that like they at least have those opportunities to do themselves. But there's some people where I'm like you never even like why now? And why me? Why? I like you know you yeah, And that's what it feels like. But when I believe in someone, like I'm a friend, but I'm like the biggest champion of my friend right now the way I believe in the way I'm about to give you, like you guys there no but forever. Yes, I've experienced that where people kind of expect you to put them on because they're on, but I can't. I can't have everybody. I'll tell you the funniest thing. I'm sure it's like the same way of music. And I'm going to a travesty. I'm talking about this like two people that died to people because I don't want to say person today, but let me just tell you something. Let me just think so he hits me and he's like, yo, I'm there for you. You know, I'm like, thank you, man, I appreciate that. The next three texas, I see, but I don't really recognize that he's texting me. Do you know he sent me three records? Oh my god? When someone and this is this is he felt like he had my ear at the time, so he didn't want to he didn't want to lose the opportunity. And I was like, and I knew he didn't mean it in a way for me to be offended, but just just imagine me. I'm losing I lost this person, this person. And then and I'm talking to him, confining him obviously like yo, yo, bro yo, and he's like, yo, I know how you fail. By the way, I didn't even know this dude rapped. And by the way, I haven't wrapped in six years. I don't know why, like maybe actually get on my podcast, Like but in this very moment, he fucking sent me three records, Like how fresh is it? This was thirty minutes after we spoke. This is thirty minutes after we spoke, um, and twenty minutes after he sent the condolences. I mean when I when I tell you it was a great conduct. I got on the phone literally was like I missed. Just slam slam me in there like that, my man. And then thirty minutes that I went downstairs and he sent me it was crazy. Is he never said check these joints out. He just sent it expected me to be like, all right, cool. It looked like a voice message. You know how the voice memos look. So when I hit it, I'm like banner and I'm like, oh my god, this like a sitting music. He thinks that in this time of grief, I should so that that was it, that it hit thrower. No, I didn't listen to it at all. I ain't gonna lie to you listen to didn't capture if it had captured in that moment, if you hadn't heard it. And it was like like a dent of everything I do. So if I grieve, I'm gonna grieve a hundred percent. If I'm like, if I'm like, uh, if I'm halfway there, I won't do I have to be a hundred percent. That spek why I haven't gone to the studio. So many people have been offered me so much money. Do you give me a first? I can't do it for my heart is not into it, I won't do it. So then you have to be in the receiving mode. But there's never if you're not in a receiving mode. Are you saying that, there's no opportunity for you to like like say you're shut down yourself or like here's something that opens you up to it. There's no mode where you're like, I'm shut down, don't wanna hear anything? Oh wait, that's if it makes sense. Yes, how much the negative stuff is coming at you, that's the problem, you can but how many people are coming at you in a negative way? Like I want to give an example without really explaining what happened, but I got hit up by somebody that said, and I have to really be careful with how I say this, we got your back because I believe it's so crazy if it's true, they were like, yo, mom, someone died. They hit me up, like someone died. Can you post this image of them promoting them? It would mean a lot to me? And did you know the person? And in my mind, I'm like, of course I feel for this person as a human, But what the fund is wrong with you? Like, why would you think that a you create an image for this situation. They said, it's fresh. It's a fresh situation, like it happened the day before yesterday, so the graphic was created. Are you very close to that person at all? Nothing he told you to post at all. Like I'm trying to say, this is a random literally a random But the fact that I'm just saying this shows you the level. This is why the social media thing that I'm saying is where we're at, Like we're in a weird space. That's why you're staying away from social media, especially when you come to personal situations. Is very honores. But I also understand like how people use it and it's like how much it means to certain people in a very sick way. Like it's like that person would feel like if you posted it, then the next narrative will be like do it again, Oh I got you know if I didn't didn't post it, which I didn't, Oh, this guy's found for sure that but if you did, that's when they would find power in themselves, Like you know I got him to post that, Like that was me? You know how he posted that? Like I did that, And there's just like a different type of power within people. It is like, how do you this is how your mourning. Your mourning by wanting some random person to like but an important person go mourn, go more where you ever felt obligated to like post your friend's birthdays. And she's like that, like, oh, I stopped, like because I'm very like that's that's the hard part. Like when I was when I finished Insecure, I took six months off of social media and that was amazing. And what I realized, though, to my guilt, was like I didn't have I don't remember birthdays, and so that was like a stargo. But then I was like yeah, but then I was like, it freed me from having to post anybody on their birthday. But it's still like, you know, I would rather like give you a personal message on your birthday, text you. I would rather tell that how I am. Yeah, yeah, And it's crazy. I remember I don't want to say what I did or whatever, but I remember doing whatever I had from one of my friends for their birthday and they said, but you didn't post it on the ground, Get the funk out of here, come on out of here. But this was like, this is a real friend, this is a real friends generational ten years younger than me and and that matters. Yeah, that that's different comment. I mean, mind you my girl, she doesn't take it that serious, but I've noticed she will tell me something. She'd be like, YO, whoaa, you didn't do this, You didn't like on this, you didn't Yeah, my friend birthday it was I felt like obligated to repost everybody who who tagged him in a birthday post. He was like, I just feel anxiety. And I was like, what, why do you feel obligated to repost anybody who was tagging because he was like, I feel like they're doing it because they want me to repost their message and their story. And I was like, I've never heard of that. You think they're only wishing you happy birthday so that you will repost? I see you not, not even some of them do. I was like, it's ridiculous. I'm sorry to agree with that, but I skied you that I saw it for myself, like and not only I saw it for myself, Like I said, I experienced it like you know, you know, because I don't want to call a person poor or you know, less fortunate, you know, so, but he's my friend because I don't I don't judge any of my friends based on anything financially, because you know, they say you get to Heaven based upon things that you can do for people that they can't do back for you. So I take pride in having people that I can I can do. But when I was, I was doing a certain thing and I was, you know, taking care of him, get him drunk, dinner, on everything. And he was like, but you didn't post it on social media? That hurt hurt me so much. And I looked at it. I looked at him as if like, you know, um, what what what? What? What? What? What? Like? I like, none of this matters, like and that's when I realized, sometimes if it's it doesn't happened on Instagram, doesn't happen considered currency right now. So it didn't matter what I did, like I did some fly ship shafts like like you know, just said, come on, let's just shut but what you I didn't want to post it like I was at a time in my life. I just didn't want to post myself or anything. Same same completely get it. I think this, I think that's beautiful. Give me the candle. She she needs a candory, and that this is a marijuana. Yeah, you know, marijuana, Mariana. Give it to your friends, give it to candy. You kids, it's not actually want You're good, You're you're good. I'm stuff with this. Yes. Can I just press me that you say? You know what smoke taking all the smokes hybrid the TV we got, we got regular royal flower too, if you want, girl, I'm not man, but I'm gonna take one more shot in and rap ship for you because in celebration as a wrapper, as a wrapper X rapper, you are a rapper. Brother, you're not. He's not rap x rap. You're naming rap ship some bold ship. So I really looked, and I wanted to make sure it's some wrap ship. I know. I was like, man, you ate it something around, keep watching. But I appreciate you even saying that. For the first two episodes, I love I love it. So, so can we give us a hint of what's happening on three or four? Because this will come out the week at the next So baby, by the time that when does the third episode drop? What the the amount of people that called me and said, do you know how many things she's done for this person and this person, this version this person and I was like, where's that work? Google that. It's like, that's the thing. She doesn't even give a funk about that. That's the most honorable ship in the world because most people is like this, I just bought him a friend, he got got him a Glizzie and they and they're selfie in it. They're selfie because they one day they one day you know what I mean, people are giving people bums. They're giving bums a hundred dollars and saying, look you good, and they're thinking the day they look good for that. We knowing that you're doing that for cloud, We knowing that you're doing you have your phone in your face, we know that. And they're like, but I don't do this for the ground. Yes, you knew. And to hear the I'm out of Hebrew that said, yo, you know what she did? You know what she did wrong? And I was just so impressed. And like I said, most of the ship that people told me, I'm not gonna say because if I said I know that, they're gonna know. Mother, I didn't tell you to say that. And I'm just so impressed. And the thing about it it is, I think I learned this word in London, cheerio. Because you deserve it, You deserve a salute, you deserve everything. Um. I want you to continue to do what you do. Keep monkey footing through this game, stomping on it. Be the gum on to the table. I know it's no gum on the table, but you know, you know that should be sticking there.
