In this episode of Dr. Health Radio, host David Snow honors the late Terry Lemerond, the pioneering formulator who brought many of today’s most popular botanical supplements—including standardized ginkgo, milk thistle, glucosamine, and curcumin—to the American market. Hoppe Rodenbaugh, who worked closely with Terry for decades, shares personal stories about the challenges of introducing these then-unknown ingredients in the 1980s and the lasting impact of Terry’s results-focused approach.

Cheryl Myers, healthcare practitioner and scientific advisor for Terry Naturally/EuroPharma, joins to explain the science behind standardized botanicals and highlights two standout formulas: CuraMed, an enhanced-absorption curcumin (BCM-95) backed by more than 90 studies for healthy inflammation response, pain, and overall wellness, and Plurimax, a clinically studied oyster-mushroom extract shown to support upper-respiratory and immune health. The conversation also touches on the company’s pet-health line and the broader value of plant-based compounds that deliver drug-like benefits with fewer side effects.

Packed with history, science, and practical product insights, this episode celebrates the pioneers and formulas that helped shape modern natural medicine.

Back in September of 1990 host and producer David Snow created Doctor Health to help educate the public about the importance of proactively practicing preventative medicine. While not a doctor, David has been in the field of health since the early 1970s. One of his many motto's is “more education equals less medication”; which permeates through the programs content. Another goal he set out to achieve was to bring together the two somewhat adversarial sides of healthcare; the medical establishment and the holistic community.
