DMV Spotlight on 3-22-2026 shines a light on the " Healthy Brains Act", re-introduced this year in the US House in Congress with the support of former VA Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton, who was diagnosed and ultimately forced to resign following the diagnosis of a rare neurodegenerative brain disorder , described as "Parkinsons on steroids". The measure also has strong support from the ALS Association. Guest Melanie Landendal, Esq., Senior VP of Policy and Advocacy of the ALS Association  explains, if passed,  the Healthy Brains Act would create a center at the National Institutes of Health to conduct research on  environmental risk factors in order to minimize risks and ultimately work toward a cure for neurodegenerative diseases currently affecting more than 50 million people worldwide.
