DMV Spotlight on 7-12-2026 shines a light on the annual Northern Virginia Senior Olympics, a three week long competition with scores of events held across 5 counties in Northern Virginia for residents age 50 and above.  Guest, Rod Hupp, Vice- Chair of the NVSO explains the competition provides real community for seniors in the area. Hupp also says the competition is also real among a variety of events from pickleball to swimming  to 'brain events' such as Mah Jong. Hupp says there are more than 30 venues with scores of volunteers to help manage all the events. Hupp adds there are several new events added this year, including darts, rock climbing and the return of weightlifting.
