DMV Spotlight on 4-12-2026 shines a light on the Maryland Crime Victims Resource Center started over 44 years ago by a couple whose daughter was kidnapped, raped, tortured and murdered then were denied any access to the trial of her killers. Guest Joanna Mupanduki , Deputy Director of the Center says says Roberta and Vincent Roper made it their life's work to make sure crime victims and families have access to court services including victim impact statements. The center provides free legal services to make sure that survivors and families have their voices heard in court and to provide counseling and support. The Maryland Crime Victims Resource Center is also hosting an annual walk and resource fair that is open to the public on April 18th at Watkins Regional Park in Upper Marlboro.
