Take a deep breath in through your nose. Hold it now, release slowly again, deep in, helle hold release, repeating internally to yourself as you connect to my voice. I am deeply, deeply well. I am deeply well. I am deeply well. I'm Debbie Brown, and this is the Deeply Well Podcast. Welcome to Deeply Well, a soft place to land on your journey, A podcast for those that are complex and creative and ready to expand in higher consciousness and self care. This is where we heel, this is where we welcome back to the show. I'm Debbie Brown. This is Deeply Well. I changed up the tagline a little bit. We only have a couple of episodes left in this season and I'm just trying on some things for size for next year. But I was thinking about our tagline from this season, and though we are a podcast for those that are curious and creative, you know, something I've really identified in all of my work and in my life experience is that this is truly a place for those that have complex lives. Whatever that means for each of us, whether that means we're coming to the table with a complex lived experience. We've had a lot of different kinds of life experiences up to this point. But I've definitely noticed that this is a show that connects with people who are deep thinkers and deep feelers, and everyone that I have had the pleasure to meet in person that is is a listener of this show or connects with any of the work that I do. I'm just always having the most fascinating conversations with y'all. You know, we are all kind of pondering ourselves and the universe, and you know, curious about ourselves and curious about the world in deep ways. And I've just found universally it seems that everyone is coming forward or coming to the table really with an immense amount of life experience, an immense amount of wisdom or sometimes unearthed wisdom. But it's a complex experience, and not everybody has that in their life. And I think it's also our superpower, especially when we can channel it for good and use it to deepen our connection to God and the people in the world around us. So you'll be hearing a couple of chain and we have about three episodes left for this season, including this one, and we'll be coming back next season with even a couple new things. We have been in the war room about looking up at the dashboard of life and really thinking about next season already, so excited to share some of that with you. All Right, we are in another beautiful episode with my dear friend master astrologer Darryl Gaines from Guiding Planet, and I was loving the responses that we got from last episode as he was diving into astrology. This episode, when we get ready to pass the baton, we're going to be focusing on moon cycles, and I'm really excited for Daryl to bring his just absolutely incredible knowledge and perspective of this to everyone. Lunar cycles is what we're diving into today. So for those that already work with moon energy, get ready to go a little bit deeper. And for those that haven't but have just been seen posts on my page included about you know, new moons and full moons and waning moons and cresset moons and balsamic moons and you know, all the different moonologies. Especially if you check out my stories, I'm always just looking up at the moon being like, damn, girl, look at you. But moon energy can be incredibly, incredibly powerful, and you know, so many of our ancestors from so many backgrounds. You know, there's recorded history from thousands upon thousands of years ago in China and India and Africa of connecting with the moon, not just to really track time and track kind of the big occurrences that are coming with the seasons, but to track one's own life progress and life experiences. And there's a lot of powerful moon work available in the world. I myself really utilized working with moon energy to kind of track my growth, track my my journaling process, and something that I love to do. And this is kind of the basics of working with the moon. But there's a lot more to this world and this medicine to be uncovered if you feel like you're resonating with it. But you know, for the new moons, it's really focused on, you know, how can I use my energy to call in the things that are most desired and most useful and beneficial to me. So new moons are typically more so manifestation moons where you're really I use it not necessarily for things or you know, material possessions. I use it to say, you know, this is something I'm looking to release, this is something that I'm looking to to try on. You know, this is something I'm looking to strengthen in and I want to utilize the Moon's energy and my connection to nature to do that. And every moon, you know, kind of has its own meanings which Darryl or dive into. And I'm a big believer that we can maximize on the energetic potential of every moment that's available to us, and using the moon kind of takes it to that next level. I'm kind of avoiding going deeper into my whole moon processes because I really want to hear I want you to hear what Darryl says first so you can connect to it in your way, and then maybe in an upcoming episode we can dive in more deeply. So that's new moons. Full moons are really where I personally like to work on releasing things. I do a lot of you know, spiritual kind of connecting, releasing, praying, weaving prayers. It's especially really beneficial, like I shared a few episodes back, a practice I have for releasing and shedding friendships or relationships that you may have outgrown. A full moon is the perfect time to do that, to really write out those prayers and apologies and forgiveness letters and burn them and say a prayer to the universe of release. Full moons are also really.
Great for.
Body nourishment. I'm always asking for my body to be nourished, to be healed on full moons. So there's so many beautiful things to dive into now. Before I pass it over to Darryl to dive into this amazing episode about lunar cycles, I also have a small ask if you have connected to listening to the show this season, I would love it if you would take just a couple of minutes and go into Apple and rate the podcast with five stars. And if you would, if you have this space for this, I'd really appreciate leaving a review, especially if there is a particular episode that you felt connected to. I'm trying to just kind of see what episodes really resonated and as we build up next season. So if you have time today or in the near future to go into Apple five star review and also write a written review, I would appreciate it, and I can't wait to hear from you. So a few big things happening in the world. Big big things. Joe Biden stepped down from office and gave his support to Kamala Debbie Harris and all of that happened on a Capricorn full moon, which for people in the astrology community, they're going crazy on Twitter talking about it and talking about the significance of this and the meaning of this, And Kamala of she has not already she is about to be right in one of her Saturn returns, which is big, big, big life changing energy. So it's really interesting to me noticing the astrology and the moon cycles and how it's connecting in many ways with some of the things we're seeing on the bigger stage in the world. You know, I put this on my stories on social media, and I want this to live somewhere. Clearly, I understand that we all have so many differences in the way that we are experiencing life and experiencing the US society and politics right now, but I want to share that something I've been thinking about for a very long time. And I know that there are differences we have about politicians and the specific things that they support. But when I look at Joe Biden, I feel a lot of reverence for what he has accomplished in his multi decade career. This is a public servant. This man is a public servant for decades upon decades upon decades. He was an incredible vice president under Barack Obama for two terms, and he came to the table and given what he had to work with, I think he did a great job in his presidency so far. And it's interesting because a lot of the criticisms leveled against him are very similar to the criticisms that were leveled against Obama. And no one really looks at the amount of cleanup that has to be done after another term, especially terms that took away freedoms and so so much has to get focused on just really bringing us back to the surface. So when I look at Joseph Biden and what he has accomplished in his life, like not just the last four years, but a life of service as a man who is I believe he is at least clocking eighty in this moment, it's just so simple for everyone to write people off or get upset or project feelings on someone for how they're experiencing them in this exact current moment. And I was seeing a lot of that online, like a lot of specific criticisms of you know, the last couple of years, And I look at Joe Biden and this man is eighty one years old. He will be eighty two in a couple of months, and I want to really, you know, invite everyone to sit and think about people in their eighties that they know. The last few years, I've been looking at Joe Biden and feeling grateful that he said yet to do the hardest and most likely most critical work of his professional life so far, at an age where he should be reflecting on an age where he should not be working, should not be traveling, should absolutely be retired. But more than that, you know, this phase of life, when you're in your eighties, this is your sacred time. This is the sunset of your life. You are getting ready to leave this planet, and this time is very sacred to reflect on your life, to bring your wisdom to younger generations within your family lineage, right to kind of say your goodbyes to this earth experience. And at eighty one, this man was getting no sleep, traveling around the world, getting you know, having to work and do some of the biggest work possible for anyone that's alive and living. But at eighty one, and you know, to see just some of the what's the word, I even want to use for this some of the immature criticism, especially as it relates to his age or to physical attributes. You know, it's just like this man is giving us his last days, and unfortunately, you know, a there wasn't really anyone else that enough people could get behind at a really pivotal moment in US history, you know. So I look at a lot of what he has done and accomplished in the last four years as high service, you know, irregardless of you know everyone's political standing and you know what they may be voting for or not, because ultimately we are all a part of humanity. But I just look at that as high service. And is it perfect? No, because who is I definitely don't expect a politician to be I expect politics to be what they are. Yeah, I have a lot of reverence for what he has chosen to do with his life consistently spanning damn near a century, and so when he stepped down, I felt gratitude. I do think that in my personal belief. And we don't have to get too much into this, because I know we all hold different things, and irregardless, I love you, and regardless I want to hear from you, and I hope you want to hear from me, and you know, we're all doing our best to be alive and in this planet which has never ever ever known peace in the history of humanity. But I have reverence for Joe Biden. I'm grateful for his life. I'm grateful for his service. I'm grateful for what he has given us and did not have to because at eighty I highly'd out, especially if you don't have a personality disorder. I highly do out that you care about clout on your way out of this planet, especially if you don't have a disorder or an illness. There are other things. And he has always been someone who has shared his love for his family and for his sons, even in some of their tougher times. He lost his wife, his first wife and the mother of his children very young, became a single dad. You know, I look at someone like that who has had a lot of life and has chosen to spend the remaining years of it in service and didn't have to. So I appreciate that. I'm really inspired by everything that is transpired in the last week, especially with people rallying behind Kamala, there feels to be some shifting feelings and some new hopes and some new opportunities coming to us on this planet. And no matter the outcome, I am really in deep prayer for things to be coming in the next handful of years that really deeply support and nourish this country. We have major, major, major issues, major issues in every kind of a way, and all of us deserve a country that is operating much better than this. So let's see what the world has in store for all of us on the next episode of Earth. Something else I want to call out that I just really enjoyed and was kind of inspired by recently is the Paris Olympics. So the Paris Olympics are getting started and they're going to be going through August eleventh, and something that I thought was really cool when it comes to the Olympics, typically, every time the Olympics go to a country, they the country spends many years and hundreds and hundreds of millions and millions of dollars building completely new stadiums to house the Olympics. And sometimes what we've seen in other countries is that after the Olympics leave, there are now these massive empty spaces that are really never used again. But it's all in support to getting tourism into the country and really bringing more to the economy, more money coming in, more travel coming in. It typically can boost tourism for decades after that. And it's really it's amazing and it's special and it brings a lot to everyone that tends and everyone that gets to witness it. What I thought was so cool about Paris was that instead of spending money building all of these permanent structures, they built temporary structures in front of their monuments. So a lot of the shots in the Olympics are going to be in front of the Eiffel Tower, I believe. I read that they're doing all the horse competitions and perhaps even fencing if I read that correctly, at the Palace of Versailles. So it's like, how amazing, especially for those that went to and are planning to go to the Olympics, to be able to see this really special global offering in front of these historic landmarks with so much history and you know, just profound beauty. So I didn't know they were doing that, and I was reading up on it, and I just thought that was so incredibly special And I can't wait to see the picks as the games progress. All right, let's dive into the great master astrologer Darryl Gaines from Guiding Planet.
Welcome everyone to the special episode on understanding the Lunar Cycle. Today we're diving deep into the phases of the moon and how they influence our lives. I'll be guiding you through the journey. Let's get started. The lunar cycle consists of four key phases, but before we delve into each phase, it's important to understand the basic astrological angles. A square in astrology is a ninety degree angle, meaning it's three signs away. For example, degrees away from Virgo is Sagittarius. From Sagittarius is Pisces, and so on. Similarly, one hundred and eighty degrees is the complete opposite of a sign. For instance, one hundred eighty degrees away from cancer is Capricorn. Keeping these angles in mind helps us understand the dynamics of the lunar phases. Now, let's dive into the phases. The first phase is the new moon. This occurs when the Sun and moon align, making the moon invisible in the sky. Imagine a blank canvas, a time for new beginnings and fresh starts. The new moon is your opportunity for setting intentions and to plant the seeds for what you wish to manifest in the coming month. Next, we have the first quarter square. Remember a square is a ninety degree angle are three signs away, so when the sun is in Cancer. The first quarter square happens when the moon is ninety degrees away, which we place it in Libra. This phase is about taking action and overcoming challenges, the challenges that arise from the intentions set during the new moon. It's a test of your resolve and importantly your determination. One week after the first quarter square, we reach the full moon. The full moon occurs when the moon is one hundred and eighty degrees opposite the sun, fully illuminated in the sky. This phase marks a time of cumnation, illumination, and completion. What began during the new moon now comes to fruition. The full moon sheds light on our progress and brings clarity to our endeavors. For instance, if we have a full moon on July twenty first, and the sun is in Cancer, the moon would be in Capricorn. After the full moon, the moon begins to wane, meaning losing visibility. This leads us to the last quarter square, the final phase before the new moon. The last quarter square is another ninety degree angle or three signs away from the Sun. This phase is a time for reflection, reassessment, and preparation for the next cycle. It's an opportunity to tie it loose ends and to clear out what no longer serves us. So to summarize the lunar cycle the four prominent phases, it starts with the new moon, moves to the first quarter square, then to the full moon, and finally the last quarter square before returning to a new moon. Each phase has its unique energy and purpose. During the new moon, focus on setting intentions and starting new projects. The first quarter square is about taking action and overcoming obstacles. The full moon is a time of completion and clarity. Finally, the last quarter square is for reflection and resolving any remaining issues. During the waxing phrase from the new moon to the full moon, focus on growth and building. It's time to work on your goals and projects. During the waning phase from the full moon to the new moon, focus on releasing and clearing out anything that no longer serves you. It's a time for introspection and preparing for the next cycle. Let's take an example of how the lunar cycle might affect someone based on their sun sign. For instance, let's consider cancer during the new moon on August fourth. Let's focus on how that would affect a cancer. That new moon would be happening in your second solar house. So it's a time for cancers to focus on budgeting, financial planning, and reassessing what they truly value. The moon represents our subconscious, our emotional needs and how we nurture ourselves and how we nurture others. Understanding the lunar cycle helps us tap into our emotional intelligence and navigate our lives with greater awareness and balance. The key is to align our actions with the moon's phases for optimal growth and harmony. Please always remember astrology is a tool for awareness. By understanding the lunar cycle, we can better navigate our emotional landscapes and live more harmoniously. Now, let's break down the significance of each lunar phase and provide some practical tips on how to navigate these through energies effectively. New Moon setting intention This is the time to set clear, specific goals for what you want to achieve during a new moon, begin new projects, start new endeavors, or take the first step toward your aspirations. Reflect and plan. Use this time for introspection and planning. Please pay attention to these specific dates this summer for new moons. August fourth a new moon and Leo, September third a new moon and Virgo, and finally October second, a new moon and Libra, which will also be a solar eclipse. Quite powerful. Next, let's look at the first quarter square, that mathematical degree of ninety. This is a time to take action, implement the plans you made during the new moon, overcome challenges, address obstacles, and make necessary adjustments. It is so important to stay focused, keep your goals in sight, and push through any difficulties. Now, let's look at the first quarter moons for the rest of the summer. August twelfth a first quarter square moon and Scorpio, September first quarter square and Sagittarius, and in October October tenth, first quarter square in Capricorn. Next full moon. The time to celebrate achievements. To recognize and celebrate your progress and accomplishments. Seek clarity, reflect on what has been illuminated, and gain clarity on your path, make decisions. This is a time for important decisions and completions. Now let's look at the remaining full moons of this summer. On the twenty first, a full moon and Capricorn. On August nineteenth a full moon in Pisces, and September a full moon lunar eclipse September eighteenth and areas. Now let's look at that last quarter square a time to reflect and reassess, evaluate your progress and what needs to be released. Tie up loose ends, complete any unfinished business, and clear out the old. You are preparing for the new. You are preparing for a new moon in seven days. Get ready for the next cycle and new beginnings. Now let's look at the dates for the final last quarter moons for this summer. July twenty eighth a last quarter moon in Taurus. August twenty sixth, a last quarter moon and Gemini. September twenty fourth, a last quarter moon and Cancer. Now that we have understanding of the four prominent lunar phases, let's look back over the summer of twenty twenty four from the beginning of summer and perhaps reflect on these dates and do a personal checkpoint and reflect our behavior and our choices. The summer started off June twenty second, full moon and Capricorn. The last quarter moon was June twenty eighth and Aries July fifth. We had a new moon in Cancer July thirteenth, a first quarter moon and Libra. The full moon is on July twenty first, again and Capricorn. The last quarter moon will be July twenty eighth, and Taurus. The new moon and Leo August fourth to be clear. New moon and Leo August fourth, the first quarter moon and Scorpio August twelfth. The full moon August nineteenth will be an Aquarius. August twenty sixth brings Us the last quarter moon and Gemini. September we have a new moon and Virgo. September third, new moon and Virgo first quarter moon moon and Sagittarius September eleventh. September eighteenth, we have a full moon lunar eclipse September eighteenth, and finally last quarter moon and Cancer September twenty fourth. I wish you all a very healthy, happy and loving summer twenty twenty four. Thank you deeply, Wow.
Darryl, thank you so so so much for sharing this incredible work, all of the wisdom about lunar cycles. Take a second release it with this episode too. If you had a chance to write a few things down, or if you want to spend some time kind of going back in this episode and jotting a few things down. I just want you to really utilize this information of what's happening with the upcoming phases this summer, how to work with that energy and see how you can apply this to your life. There is another moon coming in just a couple of weeks. We will have another new moon and then we'll be getting into Yeah, we have two more new moons I think this summer, and two more full moons. So it could be a great chance to start applying some of the information he shared, or at least just think about it and consider it. That is your soul work actually for today is notice what resonated with you in this episode about lunar cycles, and spend a little time looking at the moon this next week, go outside, look up in the sky, take some deep breaths, take a moment to let your eyes dart across the different stars and just see what you see. If you have a chance to travel a little this summer, I want you to notice what the moon and the stars look like when you're in different places, especially if that leads you to different hemispheres. You know, if you're in a busy city like here in La sometimes the stars are a little tougher to see because of the amount of light pollution and also just small pollution. But if you get a chance to maybe go camping, or if you're in an area that gives you access to a little bit more nature, look up, be with her. See how it feels to take a few deep breaths as you let your eyes really stretch open, looking into that vast, beautiful night sky, staring up into space. Something I always think about, especially when I'm in Mexico, because the sky is just so provocative out there, so stunning, and so is the ocean. I'm just always so acutely aware of the fact that I am standing on the edge of a continent, on the surface of a planet, and actually my body is in space. It's really cool, it's really special. God created so many things for us to enjoy here, and I'm grateful. Have a beautiful rest of your day wherever you happen to be as you catch this particular episode, and we will be back next week with completely new conversation rooted in astrology with Darryl Gaines, will be focused on mercury retrograde energy.
