The Velvet Underground and Nico, is the debut album of the New York based American rock band The Velvet Underground and the German singer Nico. Released in March of 1967, the album was a flop commercially because of its controversial content and many radio stations refused to play it. Nowadays the album is considered groundbreaking and one of the most influential rock albums ever recorded. Rolling Stone Magazine placed it at No 13 on their list of greatest Albums of all time.
