Me Vicolo, everyone doing.
I'm so happy to be here, misitos.
I love it.
But today we're meeting Joel.
Joel.
He's kind of in his bag, trading stocks and cryptocurrency, era even running a small business on Amazon, but he recently moved to Los Angeles to pursue his true passion, which is singing, and in some ways he's too busy to swipe through the apps, and that's where you come in Ala.
All right, So let's meet Joel.
He love Joel.
Hey guys, oh my goodness.
For those of you listening, Joela's Puerto Rican just like me. So I am thrilled to find you a glorious match. Because Puerto Ricans we have a lot of energy. You have to keep up with us, otherwise you are off the wagon. I'm so sorry.
Well, I think we need to mention where Awelita is from because it also starts with a P.
I am from Peru.
Yeah, okay, fair Peruvians.
So I get it.
I get it. Is in Latina idiena mortosa. So I'm here to make sure that not only I give you a little love, but that we find you that perfect love if that is what you want.
Oh, and that means so much to me.
I love a wilitas and I heard you were married. You went around the block five times, so I know you got a lot of advice from me.
Yeah, I traveled quite a few miles.
I did, I did. But let's start. Let me ask you one little thing. What would your friends say makes you a hot cat?
They say that I'm spicy, that I'm sarcastic, and sassy. You know, who doesn't want a little spice here and there. I'm definitely not boring. They never know what to expect with me, even my friends that have known me for decades now, so you know, I like to keep people on their feet, family, friends and partners, so they would definitely say that.
Okay, Joelle, tell us why you're here? Are you looking for love? Are you looking for your next fling? And what has dating been.
Like for you lately?
So right now? I mean I've always had the I'm looking for whatever comes my way kind of vibe. You know, I go on energies and just whatever the universe wants to present to me. I'm always here for a good time. But you know, once you start getting up there, you're like, okay, well.
I don't really want to go out that much. You know, I don't really have the energy to be out at the clouds.
Been socializing so much, you know, so I kind of want to, you know, slow it down and find a life partner. Really, I mean, I want to find somebody that I can share my days.
With and grow old with and you know, just vibe with. Take some of the lower off of me, do something for me. You know, I've been independent and thing for a while. So yeah, I just I just want a life partner. And what was the second part of your.
Question, How has dating been like for you lately?
It's kind of all over the place.
I feel like people don't know what they want or how to communicate more importantly, what they want. And that's always been a big strength of mine. If I'm upset, I'm going to tell you. If if you did something that irritated me, I'm going to tell you. And not everybody is liked that. People like to play games, people like to not be authentic and in their emotions in the moment, and I feel like that's been a huge problem with me dating. It's just having people just be honest about what they want and how they feel.
I'm curious, when did this last relationship end?
And then what were some things that you enjoyed about the relationship and the things that moving forward You're like, actually, now that I've seen that, I don't want that.
Yeah.
So we dated in two separate occasions for a little bit over a year.
And be able to solve sid answer gorgeous.
It was Dominicans, and you know, we had similar personalities and passions. You know, he was very family oriented, which I loved. So those were the traits that I liked. But the communication was just a huge issue for us. You know, he shut down when I, as a Puerto Rican, would get like a tone or would.
Get a little bit high in my delivery, would get a little bit of set and passionate just like Gever. Over hip, he would shut down.
And so that really didn't work for me because I'm like, Okay, this is just me showing passion and emotion and saying like hey, listen to me, and he's like, no.
He never gave you a reason why he reacted that way.
His parents used to argue when they were when he was younger, and it was like a trigger for him.
He would close up right after.
And those are the little cultural barriers that we try and break right little by little. But everyone needs to do their own therapy before they get into a relationship so that everything works out.
Now, with that, how do you envision an ideal conflict management and repair in a future relationship?
Oof, that's a deep one. I would say both parties just have to be open to be uncomfortable. As much as it's my defense mechanism to get loud and to get angry and.
To start not yelling, but just you know, like being upset.
I have to learn that if that trigger somebody, I need to bring it down and that person needs to learn, Oh hey, he's working on not getting so aggravated and loud.
So if he does it once or let me just bring him down, let me not shut down.
It'll compromise.
Have you, you know, been Puerto Rican and being a big family person, like, have you received any advice from like your parents or you're alitos, you're Alita's you.
Know, it's it's sad because I haven't been able to come out or open up to my Mayaguela, which I'm super close with her. We actually took a trip right before I moved to La I told her, Alita, where do you want to go? Take a place anywhere in the world, and she told me Canada. So we went to Canada, me and her, just me and Mawalita.
We went to Canada.
You know, we have a great relationship. But you know she's super Cristiana and pente coo style and so.
You know she's older wife. Put that on her heart?
Is she if you don't mind she turned ninety in March, God bless, so she's a pot. Does she know in her heart of hearts?
I don't. That's such a loaded question because everyone's like, Oh, she knows, but I don't think she does.
I don't think she does.
But she loves you anyway, right, no matter what good or bad, sad or happy, she always loves you.
Yeah.
No, we have.
The moments we do have together are special. I'm gonna go see her soon, so it's.
A working relationship. But I don't know if I'm gonna dump that on her. But you know, my family dynamic has been great. My parents have been together thirty nine years. Wow, So they've been together for a while. I've been a great example of going through the ups and downs and learning that communication vocabulary.
You know, They've been a great example.
Let's talk a little bit about what turns you on, and let's also talk about your singing career. How has your love of singing workdown in your life? And do you write love songs?
I do, so I'm in my sad boy emost stage right now, so I'm writing a lot about write the absence of love in my life and heartbreak and pooling from that it's my passion, It's what I will die doing. I love it.
I've been doing it ever since I was young.
Is that your style like gramantic balader? Are you more like you know sadsaa chatam it ain't like? What's your style of expressing? These love songs and these like heartbreak songs?
So funny enough. I haven't really gone into the Spanish too much.
I did a hook for a Spanish song called video and it's like a Spanglish song love, but no I do pop an R and B in English.
You okay, let's see.
You said that you're looking for that one person that you growled with, that you grow alongside with. What are your thoughts on an open relationship dynamic? Do you want to stick to monogamy purely? What are you open to and what are you like?
Actually?
No o, I think I would like to have a foundation with one person before I open it up for sure, just to know what I'm getting into, know what I got just with that person. If that person in the future, if I in the future want to open it up, feel and happy, feel and satisfied through open communication.
Do you want to have kids.
I'd love to have kids, but I.
Feel like I'm getting older and I look at my relationship with my dad and him getting on roller coasters with me and playing sports with me, and you know, just having that bond where he was able to move, you know, and now he's getting older and now it's restricting. I don't know if I want to. I would like to offer a lot of.
That to my children, and when you're getting older, that's just not realistic anymore. So I want them if they.
Love you are thirty two, I just say, I know it is done horming. No, I'll go and tell you.
It's open door, open, hard open time to find exactly what you want in life.
Of course, we're gonna help you from the beginning. The rest is up to you.
Okay, I'm gonna keep that in mind. Be open, don't be so critical.
No, No, this one over here runs every day. It runs more than I do. At this point, I feel like.
I just haven't found a guiy to run after these days. But I'm working on he you you know you have an uncle or you know, just keep that in mind. From your number no goes? What is your major? No goo?
Yeah, green flags and red flags, just like if.
You guys are sitting with somebody or talking to somebody.
And they're boring or they're not laughing or smiling, if they're too uptight, then that's not a thing.
I need to be able to laugh with somebody.
I need to be able to banter and just talk about random stuff and go off on tangents, because I go on a lot of tangents.
What would be like major turn offs, like the thing that it's going to be like, oh, this is a deal breaker for me.
They don't like dogs? Mm hmm, I no, no, I mean I get along with so many people, so I just need somebody that's funny. So if they're not funny, or if they're not they don't have a sense of humor, then it's just like I can't live that life.
What would be your type?
Like physically, I like usually the guys that are like eye level or up.
I like thicker guys honestly, Like I've done the whole fit thing, but I like a guy with some meat on his bones, even though I'm flak etho. But the people that I have dated and that it's worked with aren't so body conscious or thick conscious.
That's a big thing for me. Like if you are like a meatthead and you need to go like.
Seven days a week to the gym, and you don't eat like chips and cookies when you want to because of your like I can't.
That's exhaust m h.
You mentioned like when you were describing some of the people that like you've dated and it worked, Like what was that thing that worked?
What were those moments that you were like, Oh, this really works for me.
I think passive people I get along with pretty well, like people that aren't so like strong minded like me.
I feel like it balances out, you know what I mean?
Do you want someone who can hold themselves like you know, sugar daddy style or like not like that that I mean it that's a job, who has a job, who has all the things together, Like what's your vibe?
Yeah?
I want somebody who is just happy with what they do but can sustain themselves too. That's realistic. That's why I do so many things, you know, Like the singing thing is my passion and I monetize it, but it doesn't pay all my bills, so I'm like, hey, what else do I got to do? You know?
Yeah?
The crypto stuff is intense.
I don't even understand it, Like, do you care if someone is with you and like doesn't understand crypto?
No, no, I don't even underst crypto.
Here is listen, I'm thoroughly confused me but like, yay, you know another thing we made out and it's like somehow working.
I don't know.
I've made some good moves and bad moves, but I don't think anyone knows what cryptos or stocks in general.
We're just going with it, but it's helped me out.
So Olida, do we have all we need to find Joel? Oh, cutie, I absolutely think we do.
We know what he wants.
Awesome. Well, thank you so much for sharing with us, Joelle.
We are so excited to have you back next time as we look for the lucky guy who we hope will match your perfect pitch and personality. Wink wankally d that what do you think we're looking for in a pitch perfect partner?
The pitch perfect partner.
We're looking for someone as real as he is, as fun as he is, with a big, big heart.
This is all about love at the end of the day, no matter what.
Of course, we have to stay away a little bit from those very high powerful emotions. You know, no one that is too aggressive, because there's gotta be a little balance here, you know, in the partner that we find him, and I look forward to speaking to all three of them.
When we get back from the break, we'll meet the three contestants vying for a date with Alita's no Nieto Joel. Welcome back today, Myeri the first Well, let's welcome in Stephen.
Hello, Oh, my gorgeous.
Gorgeous smile. Stephen, tell us about yourself.
Okay, I'm Stephen. I am from Houston, Texas. I live in Los Angeles. I moved here what like seven years ago. I just love LA It's amazing.
I love the weather.
Not this year though, because it's so gloomy.
Stephen, did you move to for a specific reason or you just were like, let's change.
Some spaces subconsciously, I think I moved for a reason and I figured that out like a year ago, and that was to pursue acting. I always thought I was going to work in entertainment, but I was like, no, I want to beat the talent.
I love it.
Lots of competition on that, huh lots. It's a tough world.
Yeah, oh, I know, but Hey, you know what, you gotta believe in me.
Absolutely, I'm the number one.
Yes, I'm gonna go ahead and hand you over for a little guffer seat. Those speed day with our Elita starting now.
Oh my goodness, she's tough on that clock. Let me tell you so. Listen.
We have heard that every week you like to host dinner parties with your friends.
I do.
Oh my god, I have one tonight.
You do?
Okay? Where does he live? Okay? But the one thing that I want to know is what makes you so bossy? What is that about?
I don't know.
I think it just comes natural that I like the a certain way. And I don't think it's just me. I think it's good for everyone. So when I'm chopping something, let's say broccoli, I want to have the perfect bite of my bowl, my mill, my plate, whatever I'm eating, so I wanted it to be chopped in like the perfect amount that I can get all my ingredients into one four. So that's why I prefer certain chopping styles a certain amount of size. And you know, I think sometimes my friends think that they should be bigger, and I'm like, no, smaller is best.
That is mighty mighty interesting because I truly believe that once you put all in your mouth, everything ends up in the tummy anyway, and you will have all those flavors. But to each their own, absolutely, But how is that compared to your daily life?
Are you bossy when it comes to that?
Not at first?
Oh wait?
Am I being honest or am I trying to you?
Are being honest? Because Awlita can see through it anyway, So just it give it to me.
Okay.
You know, I think first it's smart to always come off really clean, slate, really nice, really respectful. I mean, I'm always gonna be respectful, but there are certain times where you kind of have to be like, hmm, I think I don't like that. I think we should do it this way. And trust me, I'm looking out for my partner. I'm trying to steer us in the right way.
So you're into compromise and big time communication.
Exactly, working smarter, not harder.
Okay, Okay, now I hear that you're all about the neurochemicals.
Talk to me about that.
I've been learning a lot about the different neurochemicals in our brain, because you know, our brain is such a fascinating thing. So I've just been learning about different ways to like get your brain to work better. And some of those things include like cold showers or cold plunges, or even like omega threes and eating a well balanced diet.
So are you working on your heart as well as brain opening up your heart to a new relationship.
Are you looking for love?
Yes, I mean I would say that I am. I try to definitely be aware of how I'm feeling, and I would definitely be aware and like open to another partner, and you know, just having those heart to hearts and you know, just getting to know somebody genuinely.
Are you a bit jealous?
I'd say, yeah, I am.
How has that worked in your previous day in life?
Well, I would say that it didn't work out well, but only because I was younger at the time and I let it get the best of me. It was kind of a first relationship, so I feel like those first times, you're navigating everything for the first time, and I just remember letting my jealousy get the best of me, having unnecessary fights, letting insecurity take over, and saying mean things sometimes. But now that I'm older and wiser and grew from that, I feel like I can better handle those situations.
That is very nice.
Jealousy is not good no matter how you look at it. You know, we have to give everyone their own rights, their own space comes with a lot of respect and admiration of what the other person does.
If you're feeling a little bit insecure, a little bit.
Jealous, talk it out, you know, tell them and just open up your heart as much as you can. Kindness and humbleness and humility. My god, they go a long long way and a lot of fun.
What do you do for fun? What's your best date ever?
I would say start off like at the Century City Mall, which is a beautiful outdoor mall, a lot of nice shops, there's the movie theater, there's a lot of dining. They have both like a food court and restaurants in it. And also I'm really into fashion, so I like to shop too, So I think that would be really cute. Like there's a lot of conversations to be had when strolling through a pretty outdoor mall.
I don't know about that because I don't have time to talk. I have time to shop, So just get in, get what you need and what you like. Yeah, I'm a fast shoper. I go store to store real quick.
So sorry to interrupt, but that was all the time for this gufe seed though. Thank you so much, Steven, Thank you, Steven. We'll be back with contestant number two.
Welcome back to day my aunt Wilita. First, let's go ahead and meet our next contestant, Joshua.
Well good, how are you? Hello?
Hey Joshua, Oh what a cutie. Go ahead and tell us about yourself. Oh wow.
My name is Joshua Maxwell Jackson. I'm twenty five.
I live in downtown Los Angeles. I'm not someone and you can't expect something from because I always do like the opposite, like you feel me. I'm like very unpredictable, so it's kind of just like you don't know what you're getting yourself into.
I love it, I love it.
I love it.
Well, I'm gonna go high and send you over to Ailita for our little speed date starting now.
When does we go?
No?
How are you?
I'm good? What about you?
I am doing fine? Thank you so much. You're very handsome.
Thank you, You're very beautiful.
Okay done. I know who he's gonna date. That would really change the show, wouldn't it. Let's go with one question. I hear that you work at a restaurant right with a celebrity list of clientele, So have they ever hit you up or have you tried?
Well?
Me and like one of the clientele, we almost kissed on accidents?
How does accidentally kissing happen?
So like usually when I take orders, I get down on my knees and like I get close to them. But me and Porsia, it's from like Dad, stop embarrassing me on Netflix. But like she always gets me to be her servant. And I was taking her order and then I lenked in a little bit too close to this. She turned around and like LinkedIn like on me and I swear to God, like our breath like got into each other's mouths and we.
Were like, oh lord, does she grab me and I grabbed her? I was like, oh push the wait, I'm gay.
No, But that was a sweet moment. That's that's a memory. Those are the beautiful things that we create. So tell me any other stories anything embarrassing.
Oh my god, there's like a lot I would say, Like my when me and my coworker would talk, like it'll be like me an Xavier or something. We'll be talking about something but Paul, who's like the sixty year old manager, will come walking by. Feather told we don't even know he's coming up, and then we're just like yeah, like his dick's so big.
And then Paul looks at us and he's.
Like what and I'm like, oh my god, Paul, I did.
Not know you were right there. Just ignor that, like please, okay.
Wilita's question is how did you know this a picture?
And like it was a picture, and like I'll meet up, like.
Can you forward it? Okay?
Next listen, you told our producers you don't mind going out with a short guy, which is pretty interesting.
When did you change your mind about short kings?
I mean, I feel like I always liked short kings because even when I was in college, like I was always messing with short dudes. Like I told him, I said, I like a little short guy climbing up my tree. I'm five eleven and they'd be like five five. It's like so nice, and usually they be backing to like the tall dudes usually like they be packing.
But the short dudes, to our beautiful listeners, we only ask for honesty, and they might Wilita first, and you are hearing it. But listen, my love, what is it that you are looking for? What kind of a person tickles your little fancy?
I would say about the bag.
But they also like to have fun because like I don't know in my opinion, like I'm not gonna be sexually attracted to you, like if you are broke, like if I have to take care of you, I'm going to feel like a dad. But if we're actually taking care of each other and we're not doing stuff because we have to, that is what's really a turned on Like a grown.
Man very well said, my love, time is up.
So sorry, but thank you so much, Joshua, Thank you, my love.
Let's bring on our next contestant, Clinton, I mean it.
Hello, Hello Clinton, tell us about yourself.
So hello, my name is Clinton Anthony Haddocks. I am from Kentucky but live in Los Angeles. Stubborn, hardworking, but also good looking.
I know you don't have to tell me.
I can confirm all the listeners this attractive.
Fun fact about myself. I can flip an entire football field flipper. Can you take back handsprings all the way down?
Wow?
At the very end, I feel like I probably had a whole bottle of tequila, like I tipped it upside down, did a handstand on a keg, and I feel like I'm going to vomit.
I was going to ask if you were drunk at the end of it, absolutely thoroughly impressed.
Well, I'm going to go ahead and hand you over with our little cuff of seat though, with a lead that's starting. Now.
How are you, my love?
I am well, thank you? How are you?
I am doing fantastic? My heart is open and receptive. And let's go for a little honesty here. Tell me you've told us that you've tried dating apps and you've had no success with them.
Personally, I do not like dating apps. I feel like I'm scrolling through applications and I was like, oh, I see you one.
Send a leg.
If we match, then we pull in and we do the whole interviewing thing of like, hey, what do you do for Don't ask me what I do for work? Okay, ask me questions about me, like what makes you happy? So, personally, dating apps are not my thing.
I like organically meeting someone.
So when was your last date?
Almost three years ago?
How come that long you've stayed away from it?
Yeah, people look at me They're like, oh, Clinton's hot, he has a six pack, he's beautiful, and they just want to play with my body hook up. I satisfied them and they move on. But as I get older, I was like, how does that leave me feeling? I feel gross? I feel used and abused, and what if I made a connection with that person? But they're all horned up and playing this game of like how many guys can.
I hook up with?
What can you offer?
I can offer my company, my ear, my open arms and cuddles. I can have intimate conversation. I can open up and share my life with someone.
You told us that you're close with your grandparents.
Oh my gosh, yes, I love my grandparents. I call them every Friday.
Oh where are they?
They're in Michigan and we do our little phone call and she tells me I'm her favorite grandson in California. I was like, Grandma, I'm your only grandson in California. She goes, I know, that's why you're my favorite.
I'm like, oh, well, Grandma's love to death all of their grandsons and granddaughters. But we hear your coaching children's gymnastics right now? I do, yes, what is your favorite thing that you're passing on to the new generation, and did you have a good coaching figure in your life.
So I coached the young developmental.
I love the four and five year old age because I have such a big, heartwarming personality and sometimes they can't even pronounce my name, right, mister Lincoln, And I'm like, yes, let's go. When we give each other high fives, we always clap for each other.
We give a round of applause, and we scream whoop.
So me passing on to them is a wonderful, exciting experience with a great role model.
A year of like, oh my.
Gosh, I can't wait to see coach Clinton and have fun with learning and art because gymnastics is a form of art that we make with our bodies. And my favorite experience I'm passing down to them is we are working together. That's my favorite thing is working together as a mentor and a small one. And soon they will take my place someday and pass it on to the next generation.
One little question, are you looking forward to having children?
I am open to having children.
So that is a conversation that I would have with my partner because I can go either direction. If you want to do a surrogate, adopt children, or whatever you want to do. If they do not want, then see, I work with kids for all my life and you can never force them, like you can't force them to eat, force them to do something. So if I meet a partner, this is where my answer can change. So when people out ask a lot of these interview questions, it confuses my brain because if they're not open to children, I'm like, okay, well, why aren't you open to it? You know, like this that whatever their answer is, I don't know, and I'm like, Okay.
What we are driving with these questions and these interviews is because we know a little bit what our dater likes and what might want in the future.
So it's always good to ask all those silly questions. My love no, I love them, I love thank you.
Well that's that.
That concludes our cafecito Alita, thank you so much.
Clinton's glacios Clinton.
Well, for now, that's all the heat we could handle. Tune in next Thursday when.
We'll be back to play a few speed dating games and a w Alita will select Eh. Stick around until next week to find out.
Who Leliana will choose.
