This episode of the Dan Caplis Show is a must-listen for anyone interested in the upcoming election and the ballot measures that could shape the future of Colorado. With the election month kicking off tomorrow, the host dives into the importance of Amendment 82, a constitutional right to purchase natural gas for cooking and heating. Joining the conversation is Kit Pfeiffer, president of Energy Freedom Alliance of the Rockies, who breaks down the simple yet crucial language of the amendment and explains why it's essential for consumers to have a choice in their energy options.

The discussion touches on the left's argument that Amendment 82 is about pollution and climate change, but Kit Pfeiffer expertly dismantles these claims, pointing out that homes are responsible for less than 10% of Colorado's CO2 emissions. He also highlights the risks of forced electrification, including catastrophic outages that could lead to death, especially in rural areas. The conversation also delves into the importance of choice and how Amendment 82 is not about special interests, but about giving consumers the right to decide what's best for their families.

The episode also explores the grassroots surge needed to pass ballot measures like Amendment 82, and how people are willing to engage on the issue. The host and Kit Pfeiffer discuss the self-interest aspect of voting and how most people care about their own well-being and the well-being of their families. They also touch on the importance of educating others about the ballot measures and getting them to vote.
