People caught with small amounts of illicit drugs would be able to avoid court for their first two offences under landmark drug reforms which Premier Dominic Perrottet says strike “the right balance” between enforcement and rehabilitation.

The drunk and drugged driver who killed the three Abdallah children and their cousin before his jail time was slashed by six years on appeal has now gone to the High Court seeking permission to appeal for a second time, claiming judges failed to determine if his ADHD was linked to his actions.

Labor MPs have been slapped with a seven-month parliament booze ban between now and next year’s state election.

And in sport, the largest crowd for an NRL club fixture in the post-pandemic era will flock to Olympic Park on Saturday night as 50,000 fans turn up to Accor Stadium for the clash between Penrith and South Sydney.
