The wait is over. The Tampa Bay Lightning begin the 2026-27 regular season tonight at Madison Square Garden as they take on the New York Rangers in their first game of the NHL's expanded 84-game schedule. On today's Daily Strike, Steve Versnick gets you ready for Opening Night with everything you need to know before puck drop.

Hear from Head Coach Jon Cooper, Anthony Cirelli, J.J. Moser, and captain Victor Hedman as the Bolts prepare for another run at the Stanley Cup. Cooper enters his 15th season behind the Tampa Bay bench, adding another chapter to one of the most successful coaching tenures in NHL history.

Tonight also marks the start of what could be another historic season for Nikita Kucherov.
