The Tampa Bay Lightning are hitting the road after a perfect start on home ice. On today's Daily Strike, Steve Versnick recaps the latest from practice as the Bolts prepare for a three-game Western Conference road trip beginning Tuesday night against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Lightning enter the trip with a 6-2 record and victories in their first five home games of the season, marking the sixth time in franchise history they've opened a season with a home winning streak of five games or more. One more home victory later this month would tie the longest season-opening home winning streak in team history.

After scoring twice in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks, Nikita Kucherov continues to climb the NHL record books. His 322nd career multi-point game tied Anze Kopitar for the eighth-most by a player born and trained outside North America. Hear what Head Coach Jon Cooper had to say about Kucherov's elite mentality and approach to the game.

The Lightning coaching staff is also continuing to tweak the power play after a slow start. Saturday's victory included Tampa Bay's third power-play goal of the season, with Charle-Edouard D'Astous getting an opportunity on the top unit as the Bolts search for more consistency with the man advantage.
