Kurtwood Smith is an American actor best known for his role as Clarence Boddicker in the science fiction film "RoboCop" (1987) and as the recurring character Red Forman on the television sitcom "That '70s Show" (1998-2006).
Smith was born in 1943 in New Lisbon, Wisconsin. He attended San Jose State University and began his acting career in regional theater in the 1970s. He made his film debut in the 1980s and has since appeared in a number of notable films, including "Dead Poets Society" (1989), "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" (1991), and "Deep Impact" (1998).
