The World Health Organisation says there are more than 700 000 suicides per year worldwide. And here in Singapore, Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) says suicides rose nearly 26 percent last year to their highest level in more than two decades. Charlene Heng, Deputy Director for Training and Development, SOS, tells us what action needs to be taken to give hope to those in despair.
