This morning (Friday) on 'Deise Today', Damien had a very interesting chat with Dr Julie Brown.

She's the Clinical Director and Deputy CEO of the charity 'One in Four' who are Ireland's leading service supporting adults who have survived child sex abuse.

She's also a psychoanalytical psychotherapist.

She gave some great practical tips and help for people who may have experienced abuse in their past.

It's been a long time in the planning and preparing but last week he finally achieved his dream...

Adam Sweeney, aged just 22, has became the youngest Irish person to ever climb Mount Everest!

For the young Dunmore East adventurer and his family, it's been an absolute whirlwind - and they are still trying to come to terms with the scale of the achievement.

Adam returned to Dunmore East on Saturday last and this morning (Tuesday), we were delighted to welcome him, his mum Karen, his grandad Tom and his uncle Geoff into studio to chat about it all.

Back from the Everest summit; Waterford's Adam Sweeney!

A PUBLIC meeting they organised in their secondary school on the subject of drug-related intimdiation and violence has won a group of transition year students from Dungarvan CBS a top garda award!

The group of students - Harry, Rian, Krishnay and Jack - were announced as the Overall Waterford/Kilkenny Garda Youth Awards 2026 winners at a ceremony in the city's Tower Hotel

The young men showed brilliant initiative in organised a public meeting in the school, at which some of the most senior members of the force at both a regional and national level spoke about DRIVE (Drug-Related Intimidation and Violence) in our communities, and the effect it has on young people, families and the wider community.

This morning, one of the young students involved in the project, Rian Bulfin spoke to Damien on 'Deise Today'. He was also joined by his mum, Sasha, who spoke about the importance of educating young people on drugs.

IT'S a proud day for the Sweeney and Harris families in Dunmore East - and a proud day for Waterford too!

Adam Sweeney (22) last night became the youngest Irish person ever to reach the summit of Mount Everest!

It's a dream come through for the young Dunmore man who has been a long-time preparing for the the biggest adventure of his young life.

This morning (Wednesday) just hours after the good news filtered through (that Adam and two team-mates had reached the summit) we caught up with Adam's proud mum, Karen Sweeney.
