All eyes will be on Los Angeles this coming Sunday night as the the 98th Academy Awards take place, celebrating the best films of 2025 and the people behind them!

Hollywood's biggest night will be held, as usual, at the renowned Dolby Theatre, where the global film industry will gather to honour the year's most outstanding achievements in cinema.

The big Irish interest this year will be Jessie Buckley who is nominated in the prestigious 'Best Actress in a Leading Role' category for her performance in 'Hamnet'. If she wins, she'll be the first Irish woman to achieve this honour.

But there is also a couple of other Irish potentials, including Irish animated short 'Retirement Plan' and the 'Avatar: Fire and Ash's' special effects lynchpin Richard Baneham.
