I'm Ashley Remminga, a PhD candidate at the University of Tasmania, situated within the School of Languages and Culture with a background in gender studies and media studies. My specific area of expertise is on gender diversity within Japanese popular culture.



What I've observed from students I've taught is that many of the key theories, terms, and scholars discussed in humanities and social sciences are often not fully understood, partially because the anecdotes and texts are dry and wordy. Given I am already applying many of these sociological concepts to my own research, I thought it would be beneficial to share this podcast as a means to break down these complex theories in ways that are a bit more accessible to the average person.
