Cornerstones of Care is a behavioral and mental health nonprofit dedicated to partnering with children and families to build safe and healthy communities. For over 150 years, our passionate team members have been creating safe healing spaces for those impacted by trauma in Kansas, Missouri, and beyond. We are headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, but our lasting impact touches the lives of children and families in offices, classrooms, and homes across the region.

Pro Deo Youth Center was formed because of the keen observations and caring hearts of Kylie and Andy Ewing. The Lee's Summit couple noticed a strong need in the community – teens didn’t have a safe place to hang out after school and on the weekends. Many of the teens had greater needs – they were hungry, depressed, suicidal, feeling isolated, struggling in school, abused, homeless, or had experienced traumatic events in their lives.

The mission of Sheffield Place is “To empower homeless mothers and their children to heal from their trauma and become self-sufficient.”
