Fun Fact: Hot Chocolate Described by Africans
We all know hot chocolate as the warm, rich drink we enjoy on a cold night whilst exposed to a form of external heat such as a heater or even a fire.
The origins of this warm beverage date far back as early as 500 BC, the Mayans were drinking chocolate made from ground-up cocoa seeds mixed with water, cornmeal, and chili peppers (as well as other ingredients), a much different version from the hot chocolate we know today.
The advancements of hot chocolate have seen the now sweetened beverage enjoyed in the midst of various African homes.
With that being said, how we Africans refer to hot chocolate, do we have a name for it in our native language?
