Derived from the Latin word “hospes”, meaning host (one who provides lodging or entertainment for a guest or visitor), hospitality has its roots in ancient history.
The hospitality industry is a large subsection within the service industry and comprises four main areas: Food and beverage, travel and tourism, lodging, and recreation.
This week we will be unpacking the hospitality industry in Africa, with a focus on the quality and standards currently present offered by the industry at large.
