Maria Lettini is the Executive Director at the FAIRR Initiative, an organization that promotes investments in companies that meet stringent ESG criteria as well as companies that are championing plant protein meat alternatives and other ESG advocacies. Maria has a demonstrated history of excellence in the investment industry, making her well acquainted with responsible investment practices and ESG risks and opportunities. Before working with FAIRR, Maria worked for the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) for six years.
Maria Lettini joins me today to discuss what ESG means from an investor perspective and how it affects pension fund allocation. She explains how fund managers plan their investments around sustainable practices and news surrounding industrial hazards. She describes the dangers of antibiotic overuse for human health. Maria also shares how the average person can be their own ESG movement.
"These trends are important, and they can change the market and the outlook and even the profitability for many of the companies in the sector." - Maria Lettini
