Aaron Cole on Christian Hip-Hop's Evolution and Breaking Generational Curses

View descriptionShare

Christian hip-hop artist Aaron Cole is only 25, but he's been part of the Christian music scene for nearly a decade, first on TobyMac's label GoTee Records and now on Sony. He's also a new dad, confessing, "nothing is about me" anymore. Cole believes the CHH genre is changing hearts and minds. "This is my calling to still make music that's that's pleasing to God."

Michael and Cole discuss:

  • The difference between Christian and mainstream hip-hop
  • Cole defends collaborations between Christian and mainstream artists
  • Cole says many mainstream rappers feel stuck in making toxic content
  • Cole on his son's new name, Omari, and breaking generational curses
