An MIT graduate has been named as a person of interest in the shooting death of Yale graduate student Kevin Jiang. New Haven Police say that Quinxuan Pan, 29, should be considered armed and dangerous. Authorities issued a warrant for his arrest in connection with a stolen car, but he is not named as yet as a suspect in the homicide.
Jiang, 26, was fatally shot in the New Haven’s East Rock neighborhood. Police reports indicate at least seven shots were heard by witnesses. Jiang’s vehicle had rear damage, so investigators are looking into the possibility that a car collision preceded the fatal shooting.
