Gunfire broke out around 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon at a Texas mall.
Witnesses describe a man dressed in black, wearing body armor, walking through the mall property firing indiscriminately.
Police say an officer who was responding to an unrelated call heard the gunfire and took action. The unnamed officer ran toward the suspect, shooting and killing the man.
Eight people were shot and seven were hospitalized.
