The elderly California couple facing murder charges for allegedly gunning down a New York Times Games executive, now claim their son-in-law threatened their lives, leading to the purchase of the guns used in the attack. In West Virginia, two Charleston parents have been arrested on child neglect charges after their severely emaciated 12-year-old daughter—weighing just 40 pounds—was found wandering alone for hours. A New Mexico judge has overturned the 2002 murder conviction of 73-year-old Linda Henning in the disappearance of Girly Chew Hossencofft, ordering a new trial after finding Henning suffered from severe delusions and was mentally incompetent during the original proceedings. Sydney Silvagni reports.

It had been filmed months before. The episode involved a disagreement about a $5,000 engagement ring that was lost after Parker threw it at Smith during an argument. Now Orlando police have arrested Dale Smith Jr., the former fiancé and father of Parkers children. He's been charged with second-degree murder.

Convicted serial rapist and Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster has been released from prison after serving roughly 20 years of an original 124-year sentence. Luster was convicted in 2003 on 86 felony counts for using the date-rape drug GHB to render three women unconscious and assault them.

The 62-year-old Luster is now under state parole supervision, living with his mother in Glendora, California. His  early release  was expedited due to prison credits for good behavior and state policies under Proposition 57.   His release has sparked severe outrage among local authorities and residents in the Los Angeles area.
