Nolan Wells’ and his phone were separated  on Horn Island. It was later recovered by his family from one of his friends’ homes on the mainland. 

Attorneys representing the family, including Ben Crump, note that Nolan had demanded his phone back during an argument with his friends on the island, indicating he wanted to maintain control over it. 

The phone’s separation and whether any messages were deleted  have become central points in the ongoing investigation. The family and civil rights attorneys are questioning the timeline and circumstances surrounding Nolan’s disappearance, emphasizing that the phone’s handling may hold critical information about his final hours.
