Rebecca Grossman,  convicted in the 2020 hit-and-run deaths of brothers Mark and Jacob Iskander, is fighting the court ordered payout to the boys' parents. She was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. Two University of Mississippi students found dead in separate location, but both have kratom nearby.  Kratom is a tropical evergreen tree, native to Southeast Asia.  It's extract act as a psychoactive substanced. It's effects depending on the dose: at low doses it can act as a stimulant, and at higher doses it can act as a sedative. 

 As it it is not conclusion that kratom was a contributing factor in their deaths, but the investigation continues.  The students were identified as Aidan Hamilton, a freshman from Englewood, Colorado, and Robert Strang, a junior from Atlanta.
