The initial autopsy reveals that Corey died as a result of blunt force injuries with cardiac and liver contusions, along with inflammation and sepsis. The Ocean County Medical Examiner lists the manner of death as undetermined. A forensic pathologist performs a second autopsy, confirming the blunt force trauma and injuries to Corey's liver and heart. The Pathologists found evidence that Corey was chronically abused and believed he suffered an acute traumatic injury to his heart four to twelve hours before his death.
