Police say Monday's holiday mass shooting had been planned for weeks.

Seven people died and dozens were injured as Robert Crimo III fired as many as 70 rounds into the crowd from a Highland Park rooftop. The shooter accessed the roof via a fire escape ladder, then fled the scene wearing women’s clothing. 

An AR-15-type weapon was used n the assault, but police say Crimo bought the rifle used in the deadly shooting legally — along with four other firearms.

On June 19, 2026, in Philadelphia, PA, a park ranger notices a black BMW parked in a restricted area near Independence Mall. Hearing a woman inside the car say, "you're going to hurt me",  the Park Ranger decides to check things out. The driver is identified as Eugene Horsch. The female passenger produced identification bearing the name of Blair Tonzelli. Tonzelli had been reported missing in February 2023 BUT she had not been heard or seen since August 2022. The photo on the ID was the passenger's photo, NOT Tonzelli. Investigators determine the ID is fake. The woman tells investigators that Eugene Horsch gave her the ID. The woman tells investigators she needed the ID because she had outstanding warrants. This is how the "Philly House of Horrors" case began. Joseph Scott Morgan and Dave Mack discuss what has been discovered thus far and explain the 55-gallon drums, dissolving chemicals, and pipes tied into the local underground sewer system. She say the  judge’s decision marks “an important step” for her grieving family. The judge also ruled prosecutors can seek the death penalty at trial.  23-year-old Robinson has pleaded not guilty.
