Authorities have ID'ed the man who brutally murdered a mom of 7 in Washington & then discarded her body. But, the realization is bittersweet because of the suspect's mental state...they can't get justice. 

A daycare nightmare for parents of kids at a Florida facility! The workers were giving the kids drugs to make them nap! Plus, an elderly employer robbed over a Christmas bonus. Jennifer Gould reports. 

Crime Alart hourly update, breaking crime news Now, I'm Jennifer Gould. A chilling twenty year old murder mystery in Washington has finally been solved, but justice will never be served. The Island County Sheriff's Office has identified Carl Schlobem as the suspect in the brutal two thousand and three slang of Tamara Tammy Matson. It was a December morning when the thirty nine year old mother of seven's body was found in the brush of Comano Island State Park. She had been dumped in vegetation. Her life violently ended over a dispute related to a drug deal, according to officials. Detective Ed Wallace with the Island County Sheriff's Office spoke with Fox thirteen News, the death was very violent. Whoever did this to her was very determined about wanting to make sure that she was not alive when they left her. For years, the case remained cold, with detectives tirelessly pursuing leads and interviewing countless individuals connected to Matson. She was known in the local drug scene, a detail that would later prove crucial in piecing together the events leading to her death. Despite all the efforts, though, the case just stalled. The breakthrough finally came in two thousand and nine when DNA evidence from the crime scene linked Slobom, already serving a life sentence from murder in Arizona, to Matson's death. However, the sixty nine year old will never face trial. He suffers from advanced dementia and is incapable of understanding the legal proceedings against him. In a desperate attempt to gain some sort of measure of justice, detectives interviewed Slobom in prison in twenty nineteen. He initially refused to cooperate, but later offered to provide information in exchange for certain conditions, including the possibility of serving his sentence back in Washington. Tragically, Slobem's mental health rapidly deteriorated. By twenty twenty four, he was incapacitated by dementia, leaving the family of the slain mother with a sense of bitter closure. Despite the inability to prosecute, investigators are still seeking information to solidify the case against Schlobum. They are particularly interested in his whereabouts and associates in the lynn Wood area between October and December of two thousand and three, where he was employed by a security company. More crime and justice news after this, a pair of daycare workers in Georgia have been arrested for allectedly drugging children with excessive amounts of medication to make them sleep. Stacy Fuller Young fifty one, the daycare operator, and her daughter in law, Terry Verbey Sunshine Edge thirty five, face multiple charges of reckless conduct after an investigation uncovered disturbing evidence of their alleged actions. The nightmare began when a concerned parent noticed alarming changes in their child's behavior excessive sleepiness, irritability, and lethargy. Suspecting something was amiss, the parent sought medical advice, leading to blood tests that revealed shocking results elevated levels of both benadrill and melatonin in the child system. Further testing on other children who attended the daycare, located on Smallwood Road in North County, confirmed similar findings, with some children showing dangerously high levels of benadrill. The investigation launched in mid December, revealed a disturbing pattern. Young in Edge, who were operating an unlicensed daycare in their home, allegedly administered the medications daily to control the children's behavior during naptime. Young and Edge were arrested and both were released after posting five thy two hundred each. The exact number of children directly impacted by these actions has not been fully disclosed. The Hall County Sheriff's Office is the investigation is ongoing and they urge anyone with information or concerns related to this case to give them a call at seven seven zero five three three seventy six ninety. And finally, in a truly heartless act, a housekeeper allegedly assaults her elderly employer after being denied a five hundred dollars Christmas bonus. Police say God, Goodyear. The public information officer of the Bavard County Sheriff's Office tells Fox thirty five News, based on what the suspect was using the money for, it appears she was in some sort of financial trouble. Take a listen. Maybe she just saw this as the only way possibly out of it. But to take advantage of one of our elderly seniors, is not what you do. Heather Nelson, twenty nine, is accused of viciously attacking the eighty three year old woman at her Florida home on Christmas Eve after the woman refused to fork over the extra cash. Officials say Nelson physically assaulted and robbed the woman, wrenching her check book from her hand and stealing a check. Nelson, though did not stop there. She allegedly forged a check for fourteen hundred bucks and also stole the victim's credit card, using it to pay rent and splurge on other purchases. Nelson was arrested and later released. She faces a slew of charges, including robbery, aggravated battery on a person over sixty five grand, theft, and credit card fraud. Let's hope she gets herself straightened out.
