In September California Governor Gavin Newsome put up billboards in states where abortion is limited or banned. The billboards invited women to come to California for abortions. As if that weren't enough, the billboards contained Scripture references as a pretext for the campaign.

Pastor John Mac Arthur wrote an open letter to the Governor as a rebuke and a warning. His message as posted on the Grace to You website included these words, "He had the terrifying audacity to use the words of Jesus to support the slaughter of the ones that He creates in the womb.
