A way forward on abortion after Dobbs - Charlie Camosy

Marc Lucas joins us this week to talk about preventing abortion in the face of teen pregnancy. Many parents are not aware that even in places where parental consent is required, any teen can obtain an abortion without their parent ever knowing it has happened.

We discussed the scenario presented in the foreign film Memoir of a Veering Storm.

And we present ideas for avoiding that storm. Surprisingly, the American Association of Pediatrics does not advocate for mandatory parental involvement.

Church resources include ministries like Embrace Grace and Pro-Grace. Lucas also referenced the He Gets Us campaign to model Christ-like care for life's most difficult issues.

Teen abortion happening behind parents' backs

Dr. Priscilla Coleman is an academic and expert voice whose credits include over sixty peer-reviewed journal entries.

According to Coleman, “The truth comes through the data. . . We do know that abortion is detrimental to a very high percentage of women. And it’s not a healthy choice as the mainstream pitches it.”

The study of the psychological impact of abortion on women dates back to the days prior to Roe v Wade and legalization. Mining the sparse early studies created a drive in Coleman to learn more. She notes that by 2008 a proliferation of studies confirmed abortion significantly increases mental health risks to women.

We also discuss the climate of suppression and censorship of her research. Although she does not work in the faith-based realm, Dr. Coleman is a believer in Jesus Christ.  She says, “I feel supported by God, and I feel supported by truth and by the science.”
