01/14/2023 Courageous Christianity with Richard Mendelow "Current Events Through the Lens of Faith: Damar Hamlin"With this episode, we begin a series that will hopefully help us to understand how to live a "coherent, consistent, clear, and comprehensive life framework," as Ken Boa says in his book, "Conformed to His Image." For the next while, we are featuring guests on the show who will help us look through the lens of faith at current events in our world. And specifically, in this show, we talk about how sportscaster Dan Orlovsky lived out his faith and prayed on live television when professional football player Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field from a cardiac arrest during a "Monday Night Football" game.
Our hope at Courageous Christianity is that you will take away an understanding from the series that the Bible is our first refuge, that it is a trustworthy compass in the darkness of this world. And that it is a relevant and powerful tool, and only when we look at the world through the lens of faith will we be able to develop a "coherent, consistent, clear, and comprehensive life framework."
To help us with our first discussion of the series is Pastor Brad Flurry, the executive pastor of ministries at Kingsland Baptist Church in Katy, Texas. Pastor Brad is also a former marine officer. Please join host Richard Mendelow, his wingman Christy Mendelow, and Pastor Brad Flurry for this important conversation.
