Couch Potato Radio host Derek Hanson filled in for Joel Heitkamp on News and Views Monday, September 14, a day after the Vikings remarkable 39-22 come-from-behind victory over the Packers to open up the season 1-0.  Derek spoke with LG Donovan Jackson, KR Myles Price, RB Jordan Mason, OLB Andrew Van Ginkle, DT Levi Drake-Rodriguez, and DT Dominique Orange in the locker room after the game. Also, Tatum Everett from the Vikings Entertainment and former players, assistant coach and current analyst for the Vikings Radio Network Pete Bercich joined the show.  

Derek kicks off the show talking about the QB2 situation with the Minnesota Vikings, previews the upcoming high school football season with the ACME Tools with Kindred coach Eric Burgad and first year coach for Hawley, Nathan Brager.

Derek had a chance to head to Eagan, MN for Vikings Training Camp at TCO Performance Center, including joint practices with Baltimore. Derek had a chance to talk with QB Carson Wentz, RB Aaron Jones Sr., rookie DT Dominique "Big Citrus" Orange, OG Will Fries, OG Donovan Jackson, C Blake Brandel, S Josh Metelus, rookie LB Jake Golday and LB Blake Cashman. Derek Hanson had the chance to talk with rookie linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings Jake Golday at TCO Performance Center in Eagan! Golday was drafted 51st overall out of the University of Cincinnati by Minnesota in this year's NFL Draft.

Former Viking tight-end and radio analyst Joe Senser passed away Thursday, May 7 at the age of 69.  KFGO Couch Potato Radio host Derek Hanson was a huge fan of him as a kid for what he did on the field, and later in the broadcasting world.  Derek got to know him and looked back on his impact around the region for fans of "the purple" with this audio tribute.

Brett Skinner has been the head coach of the Fargo Force since the 2023-2024 season, winning the Clark Cup Championship in his first season at the helm. He became the general manager in the summer of 2024. He joins Couch Potato Radio as the Fargo Force prepare for their playoff push starting tomorrow, as they take on the Sioux City Musketeers in the Western Conference Semifinals.
